A great game to open the Serie A/B Second season. Schalke04 hosted Santos FC in a global power struggle for serie B with teams from all over the globe. Neither club could get a hold on the possession for that long, as soon as the team got it, two passes later there was a bad pass or tackle. 74' would pass with only a couple good attempts at goal by both teams until midfielder Farlan got the ball on the best lob threw ball of the game and cut back and passed it behind the last defender to Huntelaar for the opening goal of the serie season 2. Santos Eduardo would equalize late late in the game with an equally great goal but it didnt have the replay data on it. Unsure of the assist. GG Roger, look forward to the rematch.

Schalke04 hosted fellow german team VFN Stuttgart in matchday 3 of Season 2 of the SerieB. In an attempt to get a more american following for new manager bigox, the team decided to have an "American Baseball Double Header Day" :) and host back to back matches to be the honorary host to open to Serie Season 2 A/B Seasons. After drawing with Santos 1-1 earlier in the day, when many worried that fatigue would get the best of the team, it didnt, the team looked better in there passing and shooting from the first game. Jarado would open the scoring with a great finesse shot on the cross from Raul into the box but Stuttgart and Cacau would respond with an equalizer capitalizing on schalke mistakes in the box. Second half would start off slow as both teams where trying to maintain possession until the final 20' when both managers decided to start playing for the W. Schalkes Raul would capitalize on a great pass on a break away to get the go ahead goal assisted by Farlan but Stuttgart would march right back and Cacau would take advantage of another Schalke mistake to equalize in the 78'. Both teams seemed to send everyone forward in an attempt to win and in the 90' on the last possession, Schaulkes Raul would find himself on a run to the far post when a great cross by ? landed right on his head and he poked it in the opposite direction to roll in for the game winning goal in the 90' Great game Country05 i look forward to the rematch. I would say both your goals would be unassisted yes?

A strong showing by Sampdoria makes beleivers out of the small fanbase. While West Ham had their chances all afternoon, only 1 made it in the goal. It was a good overall game without many stoppages. An early goal onslaught from 2 headers and a great buzzer beating halftime goal from 20 yards by Maccarone, gave Sampdoria the lead they needed to sit on the ball for the rest of the game. West Ham still fought and played hard despite the halftime defecit. Sampdoria looks to continue to play strong this season after a good opening showing.

Sampdoria builds upon its first victory on Matchday 1, over Santos FC on Matchday 2. This game was tight from the start even with an early goal from Biabiany. Santos controlled most of the possession and were able to force an own goal seconds before halftime. Lucchini was able to break the tie at the 75th minute and win the game for Sampdoria on a header from a corner. Santos continued to force the issue, control the ball, and push the tempo, but fell short in the end and Sampdoria improved to 2-0 in match play.

In a what turned out to be a very intriguing match Werder hosted the newcomer Spartak Moscow. In front of a capacity crowd the German team start very fast pushing the tempo and closing the Mosvovites in their own half in the first dozen minutes.Werder quickly racked shots as by the 12 th minute Pizzaro,Wesly and Hunt all had shots, but were not able to capitalize...In the 17th minute luck was finally on Werder side, after tackle against Pizarro, the ball found uncovered Wesley who scored the first goal for the campaign. After the goal the Russians seemed to start coming out of their shell and looked more organized and aggressive. Both teams seemed to bet on shots right outside of the box,but noone seemed to be able to put any shot on target.Just as the fans were ready to go into the half time with a score of 1-0,Bremen's defense collapsed,a bad clearance found Alex all alone outside of the box,and a fantastic shot in the upper left corner of the goal, left Wiese helpless for the tying score...

The second half was a complete turnaround.Spartak was dictating both the tempo and possession of the game and by the middle of the half seems to completely dominate. The Bremen side seemed like a completely different team.Pizzaro was completely invisible, however the blame felled on Bremen midfielders, who couldn't put more the 2-3 passes before giving the ball away.Spartak should've scored, but once again seemed just unable to find the goal on a lot of shots. As often happens in football this inability, almost got punished in the 83' when Bremen had their best chance of the half.Frings made a run trough the middle and was able to shoot(only the second shot for the Germans in the half) ,but Spartak was saved by the bar.Uneventful last 7 minutes later ,the 1-1 tie was official...

After the match Werder players didn't hide their displeasure with the referee,as the bookings of Wesley and Naldo seemed to be a bit soft

Overall the 1st game of the season seemed like a slight improvement for coach Vlad from his previous stint with Rangers, however it is very clear a lot of work needs to be done if Werder are to be contenders in the league

It was a game both teams will walk away from feeling like they should have gotten more. Newcastle struck early with a goal of the head of Alexis Sanchez in the 7th minute, but Newcastle held most of the possession the rest of the half and Udinese felt lucky going into the half with the lead. The second half opened similar to the first as Udinese grabbed another early goal, but Newcastle was able to get one back not long after as a bad bounce ended up in the back of the net off of Pinzi for an own goal. This opened the window just enough for Newcastle, as in the closing minutes, Di Natale failed to finish on a breakaway, Newcastle came down on the last attack of the game to finally slot home the well deserved equalizer.

This game started out in Udinese's favor with an early shot from Isler rattling the crossbar. But for the rest of the first half, Stuttgart's defense stood strong and kept Udinese off the scoreboard despite controlling most of the possession. Stuttgart almost took a lead into halftime as the last touch of the first half fell in the box to Cacau, but his shot sailed just wide as the referee called for halftime. Udinese came out quickly in the second half as Isla powered his way in from the right wing to grab the first goal of the game. He added a second about 20 minutes later as he pounced on a loose ball in the box to put Udinese up 2-0. Before anyone could relax though, Stuttgart jumped right back in it as Marica drilled a powerful volley into the back of the net. Udinese's defense held the lead the rest of the way though, and Denis clinched the victory in the '90 as he knocked in a rebound for his first goal of the season.

West Ham United was proud to host Santos FC in The Hammers home opener. Overall the game was a midfield battle with possession constantly changing hands. The match continued on this trend until a misplayed West Ham clearance was intercepted by Ganso who proceeded to tuck-in a high-and-tight beauty from 22-yards out. Not discouraged, West Ham's offense answered back two minutes later with a S. Parker cross to C. Cole for a header. The two goals within two minutes of one another proved to be the only goals for either side. The second half was a possession game with both clubs getting decent looks on goal; however, the shots were misplaced by inches, both goalies were lights out, and the defenses were tight. Great game Roger and can't wait to play again!

Udinese jumped out to a big lead in the first half, putting in three goals in a five minute stretch. These goals would be all they would get for the game though as Besiktas started to chip away in the second half. After Simao made it a one goal game with 15 minutes to go, it made for a very nervy finish for Udinese but they managed to hold on the rest of the way for the 3-2 win.

West Ham United brought the week to an end by hosting Fiorentina at home. The first half was a defensive struggle with both teams getting off inaccurate shots. Only a handful of good chances were had in the first half, but the defenses and GKs kept the offenses on lock down. The only event was an errant slide tackle by G. O'Neil, which lead to a yellow card from Hayden Pennifeather. The second half was much of the same until the 73' when C. Cole broke the tie with a strong shot from 17-yards. The celebration was shorted lived as A. Gamberini tied the game up with a solid heading goal from 13-yards out. The shots continued throughout the second half with nothing hitting the back of the net. In the dying seconds, the game was decided by C. Cole on a shot, which came from nearly the identical spot as his first goal, and was just out of the GK's reach. Great game Go Devils! I had a lot of fun and wish you the best of luck continuing on.

An exciting game was played between these clubs that was not decided until final minutes of the game. Napoli took an early lead on a goal from striker Lavezzi inside the box. It was looking like they would control the game with the 1st half ending at 1-0. VFB was not going down easy as striker Cacau scored 2 goals in less than 30 minutes, putting VFB up 2-1. 2 minutes later Cavani took advantage of a misplayed ball by the keeper and took and tied it at 2-2. A late corner connected with Lucarelli to put the game out of reach in the 87th minute, as Napoli starts their season with a win.

Nihat was substituted right at minute 77, and made a huge impact in the game . He scored the only goal of the game from a free kick . It was such a beauty , but thanks to EA they did not think it was good enough to make it to the highlights. Both teams fought hard to get the win, but in the end Besiktas grabbed the 3 points. The weather was aweful, but the ref and FIFA officials did not see anything wrong with the pitch , so the game had to be played on ice :) . Besiktas fans were so happy to see the whole 3 points after 3 games.

Good game Nick, and good luck the rest of the season!!!

very good game with both teams having very close chances at goal. Alex got things started for spartak in the 17' minute with a free kick from 22 yards out, where the ball bounced off the wall, hit the top post and fell down to hit the goalkepper in the leg to go into the goal. But fiorintina quickly struck back 2 minutes later with a run to the corner by Gilerdino who sent a very nice cross for team mate R. Montolivo to easily header in to the goal. Back to spartak, welliton got through fiorintina's defence and in to the box but was quickly faced with a charging goalkeeper, so he made a beautiful pass to kombarov who had a open shot at goal but sent it flying over the post and into the crowd, the mangager was very disapointed. in the 38' minute kombarov had a very suspect fall in fiorentinas box which the ref saw as a penalty, Alex slotted it in. Other close shots came from R. Monotlivo from the italian side with a volley at goal, and mcgeady from the russian team who hit the post with a shot from outside the box.

In the last match of Week 1 Werder traveled to beautiful Florence to face the local grand Fiorentina. Both teams started the match nervously as bad passing and inaccurate shooting seemed to dominate the first 30 minutes. The host team was more active, but Bremen's defense seemed to be one step ahead and keep Weiese out of danger .The Germans failed to record a shot at this time, but this was about to change.Coach XYZ made couple of tweaks in strategy and the Werder shortly started to close Fiorentina in their own half.

Scoreless match brought us to the second half.Werder finally was able to dictate the game with Marin and especially Hunt causing havoc on the wings, however bad crosses and good Italian defense kept the match tied until the 61'.This is when Hunt once again made a run on the wing and crossed in the box,the Italians were able to clear the ball right into Marin who took the shot,Frey(??) made the save, but Frings was there for the rebound and Werder was on the board.

For the rest of the game Fiorentina tried to respond,by increasing the tempo and attacking attempts, but Germans counter attacks looked dangerous. In the 73' Pizzaro was fouled right outside of the box,Marin took the kick and put the ball in the upper left corner to double Bremen's lead. And 2 minutes before the end Pizzaro's cross found uncovered substitute Avdic for the final 3-0 score.

This was the 2nd official match between coaches XYZ and Go Devils in the last month. After the match Coach XYZ didn't hide his superlatives about his counter part."Although his inexperience showed up in the second half, the way his team played the game was much much better compared to a month ago.He is very young and new to the game,so I see a bright future for him and Fiorentina.I wish him luck the rest of the season"
