    Jets - 42
    Broncos - 26

The New York Jets were able to get a nice road win against a really solid Denver team, and were led by Chris Ivory who had 20 carries for over 180 yards, with one 86 yard TD run. The Jets defense was led by M. Wilkerson who had a couple of key sacks and helped pressure the QB almost all game. The defense played without Demarco Davis again at MLB, but luckily were able to get the win despite his absence. Geno Smith continued his solid play with 4 TD's and only 1 interception along with 40 yards on the ground. His touch on the deep ball was on the money, hitting Stephen Hill for two TD's and over 160 yards.

The Jets were terrified of Trindon Holliday who returned a Kickoff for a TD and almost returned a punt for a TD.

EAGLES GET KEY WIN AT HOME...

Over the Detroit Lions to punch their tickets to the NFC Divisional round vs #2 seed Carolina Panthers. This game was controlled by LeSean McCoy's savvy open field moves, putting up 136 yards 2 scores on 19 carries. Some key defensive interceptions changed the tide of the game for the Lions and the Eagles never looked back. Matthew Stafford had 4 interceptions on the day, the biggest surprise was Megatron's 5 drops. Eagles were key'd on Calvin and it paid off, that and a little help from Madden him self of course.

UNDERDOG EAGLES GET WIN IN CAROLINA

Philly traveled south after a big win at home over the visiting Lions in the previous week. Philly knew it would have it's hands full with the dual threat presence of Mr. Cam Newton.
The Eagles D came to play in the soggy Bank of America Stadium, limiting Cam Newton to 13 yards rushing. We knew they'd get their numbers through the air and Cam did so putting up 245 with no turnovers. T. Pryor however threw two interceptions early in the first half which lead to FGs for the Panthers.

Throwing picks in a rain game, the Eagles knew it'd be an up hill battle but manged to get the game tied going in to the half 10-10. Both teams found their grooves and opened up the scores a bit late in the 3rd QTR. McCoy made some key plays on the ground while Chung & Kendricks were flying around the ball on D, causing pass break ups and sniffing out runs.

A big turning point happened mid 4th when Brandon Banks returned a kick 7 yards deep, was hit but able to retain his balance then found a seam and burned his way to the end zone. However the Panthers drove right down the field to score. Getting the ball back with a little over 2 mins left the Eagles went to work, dipping/dunking down the field. The Panthers burned their time outs, but the Eagles were able to move the sicks on 2 key 3rd down plays to push into Panthers territory. Driving to set up a deep kick, McCoy & Brown chugged up the middle for an additional 2-3 yards, setting up a 51 yard pressure kick for A. Henry. Henry's little leg was maxed from this distance as it hit the middle cross-member and bounced in to the goal for the win.

Great game, very intense chess match!

    49ers - 24
    Cowboys - 17

The 49ers hosted their long-time playoff rival Dallas Cowboys in what turned out to be a great game. The 49ers struck first with a FG to go up 3-0 and the Cowboys answered right back with a TD, running the ball nicely all game and took a 7-3 lead. The Niners and Cowboys would trade TD's before the half to make it 14-10 at the intermission. The Cowboys got the ball first but were forced to punt leaving the door open for the Niners, who also could not do anything. The Niners stopped the Cowboys one more time before getting a TD drive of their own to go up 17-14. Then the Cowboys drove right down the field before being stopped in the redzone and deciding to kick the game tying FG with just over 6 minutes left. The Cowboys coaching staff may take some heat not going for it on 4th and short there, but I think it was the right move to tie the game. On the next drive, around midfield, the Cowboys went right through the line and an untouched LB hit Gore and forced a fumble with the Cowboys recovering, however, DeMarcus Ware lined up offside and that gave the Niners new life. The 49ers continued to pound the ball, and eventually Gore punched it in from 5 yards out just after the 2 minute warning to take a 24-17 lead. The Niners D allowed a 3rd and 20 pass to Jason Witten for a first down, but a few plays later the Cowboys heaved one up and the ball was picked off at the 5 yard line by Carlos Rogers to seal the victory for the Niners.

    Key stats:
    Kaepernick - 16/20 202 yards 2 TD's 1 INT
    Gore - 15 for 116 yards 1 TD
    Crabtree - 6 for 57 yards 1 TD
    Romo - 17/23 248 yards 1 INT
    Murray - 15 for 87 yards 1 TD

    Bills 38
    Patriots 35

The Bills couldn't stop the run to save their life but they pull out a big win at home and advance to the AFC Championship game for a 2nd straight season. To start off the game, the Patriots would run the ball, and run the ball, and run the ball and eventually end up with a touchdown to go up 7-0. The Bills would answer and score pretty easily to tie the game at 7, but the Pats would run the ensuing kickoff back to go up 14-7. The Bills would then suffer back to back sacks from the Pats 4 man base rush, the Bills offensive line just couldn't handle the Patriots up front. On 3rd down, EJ Manuel would over throw a receiver who probably wouldn't have made it to the 1st down marker had he of caught the ball, but the overthrow would be a problem the Bills would have all day. On the Pats next possession, they would run the ball with their offensive line dominating the Bills defensive line, just like it had all day. The Pats would be up 21-7 and the Bills would respond with EJ Manuel driving his team down the field and Lex Hillard would score a touchdown to cut the lead to 21-14. The Pats would go to the air on their next possession and would be picked off. The Bills would score with Ryan Swope to tie the game at 21 and that's how we'd go into the half. To begin the 2nd half, the Bills would receive the ball and go down and score a touchdown to go up 28-21. After stopping the Pats and forcing a punt, the Bills would have something going, but Ryan Swope would drop a wide open pass over the middle, and the Bills would be forced to Punt. The Pats would score, and tie the game at 28. The Bills would then get to a 3rd and 1 and run an FB Dive, where it looked like the run commit was on, as no one was blocked and Lex Hillard would be stopped at 4th and inches. The Bills would attempt a fake punt and be stopped. The Pats would run in for another touchdown a few plays later, and the Bills would be down 35-28 with about 7 minutes to go in the 4th. The Bills would be forced to go for a 4th down and EJ Manuel would over throw a wide open Ryan Swope yet again and the Patriots would take over. After trying to run the ball on 1st down, they would go to a screen pass that was read perfectly by DeMeco Ryans and would be picked off for what should have been a pick 6 but the camera change angle forced me to turn Ryans the wrong direction. After taking over, the Bills would end up being forced to go for yet another 4th down, after Manuel missed another open receiver that would have put the Bills at 1st and goal, with just over 3 minutes to go and Kellen Winslow would catch a pass, that he probably had no business catching but hey, it shouldn't have came to that, and come down in the end zone to tie the game up. The Pats would have the ball with just under 3 minutes to go and they would go to the run like they had all game long but this time, the Bills would stop them. On 3rd down, they would drop back to pass and Manny Lawson would scream through and sack Brady to force the punt. The Bills would have the ball with great field position and under 2 minutes to go in the game. The Bills would run the ball and get the first down and force the Pats to use all of their timeouts. With 11 seconds left, the Bills would kick a field goal to go up 38-35. The Pats would take the touchback, and throw an out route where the receiver caught the ball near the sideline and feel down trying to keep his feet down, but was touched in bounds and the clock would expire. The Bills will face the Jets for the 2nd straight year in the AFC Championship game.

Ej Manuel 23/32 335 yards 2 TD 1 rushing TD

    * TIP- do not rest your starters to prevent an injury back to back games, as they will come into your next game on a cold streak. Hopefully EJ is back to normal.

Resting starters plus a week off usually equals severe cold streaks.

Rested them two weeks because my last two games I went on ap for, then they got the week off. Makes it pointless to win the division. Gotta love madden logic

    49ers - 41
    Eagles - 20

The 49ers continued their perfect season, improving to 18-0, after beating the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game 41-20 and move on to the Super Bowl to try and defend their title. The Eagles came out playing well early in this game and the game was back and forth in the first half with the Eagles taking the lead a couple times, but in the end the Niners and their top rated defense proved too much for Terrell Pryor and the Eagles. The Niners defense picked off Pryor 3 times and also recovered a fumble and sacked the Eagles 5 times on the day. Kaepernick was on in this game as well as he threw for 321 yards and 4 TD's with only 1 INT on 9/13 passing while Gore only had 87 yards and 1 TD on 22 carries. The 49ers play the Bills in the Super Bowl.

    49ers - 27
    Bills - 10

The 49ers capped off their perfect season by beating a good Bills football squad in the Super Bowl. The 49ers offense was slow to start, punting on their first couple possessions, and on the Bills first possession they moved the ball quickly down field into the red zone, but the Niners D stiffened and held them to a FG. After a Niners punt pinned the Bills deep in their territory, EJ Manuel threw a costly INT giving the 49ers good field position, and the 49ers took their first lead after a 4th and Goal run by Gore from the 1 yard line to go up 7-3 and the Niners never gave up that lead. The Niners next score came on a slant pass to Sergey Boyce and he took it 36 yards to the end zone after beating the corner in 1-on-1 coverage, and the Niners were up 14-3 with 2:46 left in the half. The Bills would go 3-and-out quickly and give the ball back to the Niners with a chance to add to their lead, but Colin Kaepernick threw an INT in bills territory but it was returned all the way down to the 49ers 25 yard line with only 8 seconds left. The Bills threw the ball, going for the end zone, and their WR caught it at the 1, but Patrick Willis made a great tackle at the 1 and the Bills couldn't get a timeout called before the clock struck 0, taking the game into the 2nd half at 14-3 Niners. The Niners defense held the Bills on their opening possession of the second half and went down and kicked a FG to go up 17-3. But on the Bills next drive, it only took them 4 plays to get to the Nienrs 5 yard line, and 2 plays later Manuel snuck it into the end zone from the 1 yard line to bring the Bills to within 7 points. But the 49ers would not allow another point, and Etuk added a 49 yard TD run to pretty much seal it for the Niners, keeping their perfect season and winning back-to-back Super Bowls. The Bills had some chances in this one, but their defense dropped a couple potential INTs and the 49ers took advantage of the Bills mistakes.
