Bulls Defense Plays Out Of Their Minds As Offense Disappears - Gets Win

    South Florida 10
    Cincinnati 0

If anyone can find the USF offense please let us know. After doing so well in the first half of the season, their offense has been pretty much non-existent in their last few games. Luckily the defense has kept the foot on the gas and kept the Bulls in the game. Which is exactly what happened against Cincinnati. As this game was super boring this will be a shorter than normal recap.

The first half was devoid of any points as both teams were unable to do much of anything. Eveld started a promising drive, but his pass was picked by a 'psychic LB' even though it looked like the pass was in the WR's hands. After that, Coach BP decided to keep the offense on the ground no matter what. USF finally got on the board after a great drive (the only one) capped off by a 11 yard run by Eveld on the read option. The defense kept making stops as the Bearcats couldn't move the ball at all against a stout defense led by DE Lynch. USF put the game out of reach with a 48 yard FG with under 2 minutes to go. Cincy tried to score, but was intercepted for the 4th time on the night to seal the victory.

    Player of the Game
    DE - Aaron Lynch - 7 tackles (7 Solo, 6 TFL), 5 sacks

Hopefully we can get this done tomorrow so I have a chance to play aarondramp. I leave for the airport at 3:30ish Central on Wednesday, so if we get the week done tomorrow, when could you play?

I can do a double header tonight after I play hornfaninbama but that would be if everyone is done at a reasonable time. I work 8-5, so we would need to kick off by 11 eastern tonight for me to play before you leave.

Air Force Wins @ SMU 27-7 With Defense

Garrett Gilbert tossed a rediculous 7 interceptions (looks like he learned from fuzzyl0gic ) and Air Force capitalized by taking two back to the house for scores. Gilbert also went a civilian 14-38 in the process. CB Steffon Batts had two picks (one for a score), Jay Fullam snagged two, Chris Miller had a pair (with one for a score), and strong safety Anthony Wooding got in on the action with one as well (in the redzone at that- clutch INT).

Just like any other game, AF was outgained in total offense but still managed a win (269 to 311) thanks to a 7:1 turnover differential. Starting QB Jovan Alford played well before getting knocked out at the end of the first half, going 7-15 for 94 yards but tossing a pick. Alford's legs were the difference though offensively, as he had a pair of nice runs on one scoring drive and finished with 63 yards on 5 attempts (long of 25). Alford is finally looking like he is settling in on the offense (knock on wood) but true freshman Andrew Weaver has looked good during any relief duty he has had. Coaches will have quite the decision this fall with Weaver, Alford, and current redshirt Rian Wilson all competing for the spot. Wilson received a redshirt because he wasn't quite suited for the option offense that Air Force entered the season running. The pro style attack should suite him a lot better, and he has the athleticism to utilize the read option looks like they do now.

Senior HB Anthony LaCoste had a solid game, gaining 62 yards on 22 attempts. Junior WR Matcus Hendricks had some nice catches while finishing for 60 yards on 3 catches.

Overall this was exactly how Air Force entered the year planning to win games- great defense and a possession style offense.

Navy waves the white flag early, UCF dominates in 42-0 Victory

UCF's defense came out strong and never let up. They held Navy to 123 yards total offense, negative rushing yards, and sacked DJ Sargenti 7 times.

Both UCF's offensive and defensive lines dominated their inferior Navy counterparts. UCF racked up 350 yards on 50 carries, including 163 yards from junior HB Storm Johnson. Four different UCF players rushed for TDs, including the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string HBs. Senior defensive tackle Victor Gray had 3.5 sacks in the game - One he'll never forget.

Next week The Knights of UCF have a chance to spoil Louisville's perfect season so coach Josh B plans on throwing everything he has at the Cardinals.

We gave it a shot. Don't worry, though. There is no guarantee that I win even against a CPU team. I got smoked by CPU UCF. I simply can't play with this UConn team.

Kasper, I'm setting myself to AP. Could you send me a text when you advance so I can do my recruiting? I just don't want to miss out on setting the visit stuff before aarondramp plays the game against the CPU.
