Good game hornfaninbama. I really fell apart after my QB was stripped on that scramble. It didn't help that his accuracy went to shit after the first INT. *SIGH* Is it next season yet? :)

    Good game BP.
The only saving grace for this game in my eyes is that I feel like I can compete a little better this year. I've won a few user games this season, and it took almost 2 full seasons of 12 before I did.

Louisville pulls off the close road win defeating UCF 30-27

In the Big East finale for both teams, UCF comes close but not close enough to upsetting #2 Louisville

This game opened with UCF driving down the field, but after Louisville stopped UCF on a 3rd down run the Knights settled for a field goal. On Louisville's first possession QB Will Gardner ripped apart the UCF defense, completing an 11-play drive with a touchdown strike to WR Michaelee Harris to go up 7-3. After UCF was forced to punt after a dropped pass on 3rd down, Louisville took the ball down the field but missed on a 3rd down pass attempt and took the free three to bring the score to 10-3. On UCF's next play from scrimmage HB Storm Johnson took the pitch on the speed option and took off down the sideline for a 75-yard TD run to tie up the game.

Louisville quickly answered UCF's big score with another great drive. HB Dominique Brown took the ball in from 12 yards out for the score to put Louisville back ahead 17-10.

With under 2 minutes left in the first half UCF got the ball back and utilized the no-huddle and put together a quick TD drive. QB Blake Bortles hit FB Terry Tanner for a 3-yard TD pass after the PA fake to tie up the game 17-17 heading into half.

Louisville started the 2nd half with another commanding drive but was stopped on 3rd down and took the field goal. On UCF's next possession the knights put together a long, methodical 4-minute drive. FB Terry Tanner got his second TD of the game, pounding the ball in from the 1-yard line to give UCF their first lead of the game 24-20 as the third quarter ended. That lead wouldn't last long though.

Louisville's offense was once again unstoppable. QB Will Gardner drove his team down the field for a quick score, completing a 36-yard pass to WR Michaelee Harris for his second TD catch of the game, bringing the score to 27-24 Louisville on top. UCF answered with a quick field goal to tie the game up at 27-27 but Louisville got the ball back with 3 minutes left. Louisville quickly crossed UCF's 50 then just ate up the clock. The Cardinals happily settled for a field goal after bringing the game clock down to 14 seconds. If UCF hadn't wasted a timeout earlier in the half they probably could have saved 30 seconds. With 14 seconds left the UCF offense got the ball back down by 3. On the first play QB Blake Bortles tried to force the ball into double coverage and CB Parnell sealed the game with an interception, the only turnover of the game.

Players of the Game: Louisville QB Will Gardner - 19/26 264 yards 2 TD - This guy was pinpoint accurate with all his passes today as he ripped apart the UCF defense.
UCF HB Storm Johnson - He only carried the ball 10 times but finished with 156 yards and a TD.

Next week #2 Louisville will face off against #1 Houston in the Big East Championship. With both teams undefeated this game has a similar feeling to the LSU/Bama game last year. The winner of the game will most likely play in and win the national championship.

GG Kapono. Maybe next time I'll figure out how to stop, or at least slow down, your passing game...

Louisville luckily survived without star QB Teddy Bridgewater in his only game he will miss of the season. He'll be back for Houston
