Raiders Move to 10-2 after Beating Rival Chiefs 51-31 For divisional rivals like the Raiders and Chiefs, very unusual for rivals like these to meet for the first time so late in the season and then meet again in a few weeks. With the Raiders essentially wrapping up the division title, the next goal is getting home field advantage and a bye for the playoffs. The Chiefs on the other hand has had a tough season and looking to improve for next year. The Raiders who have had a knack for causing turnovers did not start slow, the Raiders caused the first of many turnovers on the opening drive by forcing a fumble one of Kcs receivers. The Raiders took over at around the 50 yard line and was able to take advantage and finish the drive with a 37 yard pass to Reece for a TD score. It did not stop there, the Raiders were able to force another turnover with a pick from McClain which was his 10th of the season to give the Raider great field position, the Raiders managed just a FG and gave the Raiders a 10-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. The Chiefs responded by causing turnovers on their own picking off Pryor and putting together great drives together. Manning and the Chiefs had no trouble moving up and down the field through the air and put together three straight scoring drives with manning hitting Breaston for a 12 yard td, a 52 yard TD, and Charles with a 23 yard run. After a great start for the Raiders, all of a sudden, it was 21-10 Chiefs in the 2nd quarter. The Raiders coming off a win last week, but had two crucial injuries to their receiving corp, Moore and Ford. Youngsters Streater and Criner took over and Streater didn't wait long to contribute. After the Chiefs took the 21-10 lead, Streater responded witha 103 yard TD return for TD taking over for the injured Ford in kick return duties, all of a sudden, it was 21-17. The Raiders caused another turnover and Pryor hit DHB for a 52 yard TD to get the Raiders a 24-17 lead going into halftime. In the 2nd half, the Raiders took over causing multiple turnovers with Manning throwing 7 for the game and McClain picking off two more to give him 12 for the year. McFadden who had a slow 1st half broke out and finished with 146 yards and a TD. Pryor hit DHB for his 3rd TD of the game on a 72 yard strike to give the Raiders a 38-20 lead. The score remained rather close in the 4th quarter as the Chiefs stayed within a 2 score deficit and was able to drive to the 2 yard line late in the 4th down just 13. With a TD, they could decrease the deficit to 6 points with all three timeouts left, but the Raiders had one of the best goalline stands stopping Charles three times at the one and then Manning throwing an incomplete pass to a TE and the Raiders take over at the 1 yard dline still up 13 and about 1:40 left. The Raiders came otu in a 3 wide set and the Chiefs in a goalline stance hoping to get a safety and the ball back, but Pryor hit Criner on a streak against a LB for a 100 yard TD score to close out the game with a 51-31 win. Criner now has 1 catch for 100 yards and 1 td for the year.
