The Falcons entered week 17 looking for a season ending victory to propel them with momentum into the playoffs.
They got their win, but they also paid dearly for it.
RB Jacquizz Rodgers will have to miss at least 2 weeks due to a strained pectoral muscle he suffered in the second half. He left the game initially, came back, but reinjured himself and was left out for the remainder of the game. DeMarco Murray and Jason Snelling had to step in for the rest of the game, and it appears that they must do so in the playoffs as well.
Atlanta still managed an effective rushing attack against the Colts and ended up pulling away in the 3rd and 4th quarter in what started out as a very close game.
The Falcons improve to 12-4 as they prepare themselves for the Giants in their first round matchup of the NFC Wild Card round.
The Colts drop to 8-8 and are looking forward to the off-season where they can continue to move on without hall of fame QB Peyton Manning.
