Orange Win Overtime ThrillerSqueak by in Classic Matchup at Texas Tech 16 - 13 After losing 10 straight as a program, Syracuse picked up their first win of 2013 with a comeback on the road against a tough Big 12 opponent. The Orange got off to another slow start on offense and found themselves trailing 10 - 0 at the half. Fortunately, the defense stepped up their game and at least game Syracuse a chance in the 2nd half. After two second half field goals (44, 35) by K Ross Krautman, Syracuse had cut the lead to 4 with just over 4 minutes remaining but the Red Raiders came back with a clock-melting drive and opened the lead back to 7 with a 47-yard FG with 1:35 left in regulation. Backup QB Kasey Nichols, in after QB Charley Loeb got injured early in the 4th, led the Orange down the length of the field and backup HB PrinceTyson Gulley scored on a game-tying TD run with just 7 seconds left. Syracuse could only muster a FG in their overtime possession, but the Orange defense sealed it with an interception by DE Micah Robinson. Next week, Syracuse goes on the road to face the Northwestern Wildcats.
