This game started off just like our previous game vs. the Falcons. The Saints showed early dominance to only have everything go wrong. The Buccs stormed to a 20-7 lead until Brees finally found his mojo.

At halftime the Saints were shaking their heads as Martin walked up and down the field. Nothing seemed to go right and the success the Saints had last season was missing. Finally though, after a great punt by BirdDog1980 that put the Saints on their own 1 yard line. Coach called a conservative shotgun play with guys running short hooks or flat routes. Brees hit Lance Moore on a comeback route who in turn deked the defender, shed the tackle and went 99 yards for a huge score and a turning point in the game. With the score now 20-14 Buccs, the Saints Defense started earning their pay. We didn't let the Buccs score again and maintained the offensive pressure. In the end the Buccs had a chance to put the game away with about 2 minutes left, but Josh Freeman through a crucial pick down 21-20. The Saints ran it in on the next play to go up 28-20. The Buccs made an attempt to tie it up, but knowing they had to pass the Rookie outta Mizz closed the game out with another Freeman pic. Saints win 28-20. Good Game BirdDog1980... your getting closer everygame.
