Rams win their first game under their new head coach 24-18 behind a sharp performance by Sam Bradford. Bradford who coach HotRod promised will realize his full potential and become an elite quarterback went 17-22 for 281 yd and 2 TD. WR Steve Smith had both TD receptions in what was a career day for receiving yardage with 145 yes on 7 catches. The Rams defense was stingy for most of the game, not allowing a TD until late in the 4th quarter. The defensive unit was led by rookie OLB Herman Thompson who had 10 tackles and a sack.
Brandon Weeden had a rough day passing completing only 51% of his passes and throwing two picks. He wasn't helped by some key drops on third downs. Trent Richardson never got it going on the ground only picking up 21 yards on 16 caries. Greg Little was the lone bright spot for the offense with his 8 receptions for 139 yards.
The Rams are not giving up hope despite the change in head coach so late in the season. They are in the hunt for the 6th seed in the NFC. They next face the NFC East leading Washington Redskins which is a key battle for both teams.
