Match Up Of Two 2-1 Teams Ends In Impressive Victory For Chicago Bears, 31-7
Chicago came into this game riding a two game win streak and feeling pretty good about their play as of late. But they knew that the Cowboys of Dallas would prove to be a difficult opponent to play. But boy, were they ready.
Chicago started off pretty hot in this game quickly jumping out to a quick lead after a deep pass to Devery Henderson. But the Bears were far from done putting up 17 more points in the second quarter (TD reception by TE Dustin Keller and an INT returned for a TD by Brian Urlacher to go with a FG by Gould). Overall it was a dominant effort for the Bears on all sides of the ball. But could they carry their momentum into the second half.
Halftime was over and the Bears came out pumped knowing they were getting the ball first and were in prime position to keep their winning ways alive. But this half would not go as well as the first for the offense. The Cowboys defense, ROLB Demarcus Ware in particular, found new life in the second half slowing the Bears offense to only getting 7 points (A one yard TD run by Matt Forte). But the Bears D was there to save the day as they continued to give Cowboys QB Romeo hell racking up 6 sacks on the day to go along with 2 picks. "I was proud of our boys. We played with a passion that some say we were missing last week. It was a good effort all around," responded the relieved DC Ryan Long, who's defense gave up a ton of points in last weeks game against the Panthers. But the ever elusive shut out escaped the Bears claws as the Cowboys were able to finally put points up on the board on a short TD rush by Cyrus Gray.
Overall it was a good game for the Bears on all fronts. The defense had easily their most impressive game of the year with 6 sacks (3 by J. Jones, 2 by B. Urlacher, 1 by J. Peppers) and 2 picks (1 by Urlacher and 1 by former Cowboy Mike Jenkins) and only gave up 191 yards total on the day. The Offense started off really impressive but failed to do much in the second half, but didnt cost the Bears the game like they have tried to do in the past under Coach Smith. Cutler had his second pick-less game of the year going 7/11 for 222 yards and 2 TDs while Forte took a step back only getting 70 yards on the ground and 1 TD and a Fumble. But all and all, a good perfomance.
Good game RynoAid Good Luck the rest of the season.
    Players of the Game:
    Offense: QB Jay Cutler
    Defense: MLB Brian Urlacher
