Ohio State kicked off Terrelle Pryor-less era on the road against a rebuilding Miami Redhawks team. The plan goin in was for Ohio State to give both of its quarterbacks a shot to play. Top Recruit Redshirt Freshman Joe Harrell, and Redshirt Junior Kenny Guiton both led the Buckeyes on scoring drives. Harrell finished 9-12 for 197 and 3 TDs and Kenny Guiton finished 7-12 for 94 and a touch.
Overall, Harrell looked more the part of starting QB as he made the most of his 9 completions and avoided being sacked. The Battle for Ohio, next week, will say more to both the QBs talents and ability to lead.
QB issues aside, the rest of the team, young as they are, look to be in top form. Jammal Berry ran 21 times for 119 and two touches, and sophomore sensation WR David Booker caught 6 balls for 138 yards and two TDs.
Miami's offense was held to 87 total yards and went 0-11 on third downs.
The Buckeyes are now focused on their nex game against a well coached, disciplined Cincinnatti group at the Shoe.

00:02TDAuburnMichael Dyer HB #5 1 yard rushCrazy one here. Up 17-14 and on the goal line with 7 seconds left and no to's, I panicked coming to the line, didn't get the play I wanted, then threw a pick six. Went back and forth at that point. Tirade was having a lot of success throwing short and to the slots, and I struggled to find an answer. As I did, he started attacking the middle of the field. With 4 seconds left I stopped the clock for a 44 yard FG attempt int he middle of the field and had the win blowing up and to the right. Tirade iced my kicker, and I somehow pushed it right. In OT I got the ball first and scored after converting a clutch 3rd and long. Then Tirade threw the ball out into the slot and I somehow stripped the ball and recovered, ending the game.Overall, a great game. I woldn't mind making this Tigers/Tigers rivalry an annual thing. Always a pleausre playing you my sir. I was actually kind of upset it ended the way it did. Despite injuries Canes surviveMiami 32Boston College 16Miami lost its starting QB in the first quarter for 6 weeks and RS Sophmore Stephen Morris saw the first action of his career, by the end of the day he would go 10-21 for 125 yards and 2 Touchdowns, both to JUCO Sophomore Steve Graham, hopefully the two can continue the connection all year. HB Lamar Miller continued his injury trouble and was gone most of the second half due to an injury, the coaching staff has to be concerned that this guy just cant stay on the field. The Defense was certainly the bright spot forcing 6 sacks, one INT(should have been more but we've got bricks for hands) and 8 pass deflections. The Canes did give up 319 yards of passing but the run defense was on point forcing Boston College to run then ball 21 times for Negative 31 yards. This game had its highs and lows and their will be plenty of things to improve upon for the next week.

14 (1-1) | (1-0) 21#13 Cincinnati Bearcats @ #6 Wisconsin BadgersMontee Ball, Occupation: BeastThe most lopsided 7 point game in historyWhere to start on this one? Wisconsin thoroughly outplayed Cincinnati, who managed to stay in this game thanks to Wisconsin's play style and a couple bad turnovers by the Badgers. Cincinnati was not to be outdone in that department though, as starting Bearcat QB Brendon Kay threw 4 interceptions and got benched late, 3 of those went to CB Marcus Cromartie, including a pick six. Montee Ball started the season strong for Wisconsin, as they will continue to really on their Heisman hopeful, who had 153 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. The first quarter was pure domination by the Badgers, who forced a 3-and-out on Cincinnati's first possession, then forced an interception when backed up into the red zone on their next one.
The Badgers were able to score on their first two possessions with high doses of Montee Ball, who hit pay dirt from 4 yards out and 10 yards out to give Wisconsin a 14-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter. After another interception was thrown by Kay midway through the quarter, Badger QB Jon Budmayr decided to return the favor and lofted a ball about 30 yards too high that ended up getting picked off, giving Cincinnati new life. They would drive half the field and score on a 1 yard run, and thanks to bad clock management by the Badgers, the game went into halftime with Wisconsin up 14-7.Things were pretty tight from both sides early on in the 3rd quarter, neither team being able to move the ball well. Wisconsin's big break came halfway through the quarter, when Cromartie picked off his 2nd pass of the day and took it 52 yards for the touchdown, giving Wisconsin a 21-7 lead.
The Badgers couldn't put the Bearcats away though, and were forced to punt several times without extending the lead even more, and Cincinnati came back with an 18 yard touchdown pass at the beginning of the 4th quarter to make things interesting. But Kay would throw another pick to Cromartie, and Wisconsin didn't give the ball up after that, driving all the way down to the Cincinnati 1 yard line while bleeding the clock, and the Badgers were able to take a knee at the 1 without adding insult to injury.
Wisconsin's player of the game goes to two guys: Montee Ball and Marcus Cromartie. Ball had 28 carries for 153 yards and 2TDs, while Cromartie had 2 tackles, 3INTs, and a defensive TD.Cincinnati's playmaker was WR Anthony McClung, who had 6 receptions for 82 yards and a TD.Brendon Kay, Occupation: Failure

Florida State @ TennesseeWhat a way for the Noles to start off their new season. There might not be a tougher place to play than Neiland Stadium and it was all it was made out to be as the Noles and the Vols played a brilliant defensive ballgame. What can you say about this one. Most User games are wide open offensive explosions, well not this one. With the final being 23-21 in favor of the Noles, the game felt like a 10-7 game. Turnovers by both teams set up most of the points and a couple of key stops by the FSU defense won them this game. Both qb's were horrendous, there was no room for anything and when there was that tight window for a big completion, the defensive line's forced bad pass after bad pass. In the end, it was Dustin Hopkins third FG of the game with 40 seconds left that proved to be the winner.Got to hand it to Soda, he played a whale of a game and it really sucks someone had to lose this one. I really believe he'll bounce back and have a great year. Best of luck to the Vols, hopefully they can bring home a SEC title.

Boston College @ Florida StateFor the second time in two weeks, the Nole defense took center stage as they shut out BC. They did give up some yards but they always seemed to make the big play to turn away their ACC rival. Again, EJ Manuel struggled finding open receivers but he made a couple of big plays and the backfield trio of Chris Thompson, Lonnie Pryor and Ty Jones did enough on the ground to keep the chains moving. When all was said and done, it was a 41-0 rout. Coaches still were not happy with the way the offense played at times and there is plenty of room for improvement. Hopefully they can shore up that unit as Miami awaits in a couple of weeks.Scoring Summary First Quarter03:18FGFlorida StateDustin Hopkins K #18 54 yard field goalSecond Quarter03:49TDFlorida StateTy Jones HB #33 2 yard rush01:12FGFlorida StateDustin Hopkins K #18 37 yard field goalThird Quarter04:39TDFlorida StateWillie Haulstead WR #82 4 yard pass from EJ Manuel QB #3 03:32TDFlorida StateWill Tye TE #44 31 yard pass from EJ Manuel QB #3 Forth Quarter04:32TDFlorida StateLonnie Pryor FB #24 6 yard rush03:53TDFlorida StateJeff Luc MLB #48 78 yard interception
State College, Pennsylvania: This rivalry game has been an exciting, and close fought series since our first matchup in 2010. This year was no different, and it was extremely close throughout. The game opened up as if it would be a shootout. Only 2 minutes into the game, QB Tino Sunseri would hit WR Mike Shanahan on a 57 yard TD on a perfectly thrown out route. Penn State would answer, with a HB Silas Redd 78 yard run in which he seemingly broke a tackle from every Panther on the field.
The game would quickly settle down into a defensive struggle. Each team was able to move the ball somewhat, but was unable to put up any points. Midway through the 2nd, Dion Lewis would show why he is one of the best backs in the country, with an 85 yard TD run on a stretch play. Penn State would add a TD in the closing minutes of the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 14 at halftime.
The 3rd quarter was more of the same. Defense. Each team was unable to put up any points, until Pitt pulled out a 41 yard TD pass to Mike Shanahan on a fly route up the left sideline. The team immediately forgot all about Jon Baldwin and is now comfortable with Shanahan's potential. Penn State would tie the game midway through the 4th on a well executed pass in the flat to HB Silas Redd. And then, the game would get interesting. Penn State would go into their two minute drill and quickly move down the field for a potential game winning score with under 2 minutes left. But then, QB Rob Bolden would throw his 2nd interception with less than 30 seconds left on the clock, killing any momentum.
Tino Sunseri went back to work with less than 30 seconds and all 3 timeouts. Pitt would spread the field with 4 and 5 WR sets, and would move into FG range of their own. If you want to call 58 yards FG range. Senior K Kevin Harper would be iced, and still have the composure to nail what was the biggest kick of his career to date. A 58 yard game winning FG as time expired. Final score: Pitt 24, Penn State 21. A huge win, and one of the best most memorable games in a long time.
Pitt would win the game as they always do. Solid defense, special teams and not committing a single turnover. The Pitt special teams consistently pinned the Nittany Lions deep in their own end of the field. At least 2 times they started drives inside their 10 yard line. Defensively we were happy with our pass defense which was the focus for this year. Our run defense though was a bit suspect as we allowed over 210 yards, although 78 of that was on 1 carry.
Players of the Game:
Offense: HB Silas Redd- 12 touches, 124 yards, 2 TD
Defense: LB Mike Hull- 6 tackles, 1 sack
Offense: WR Mike Shanahan- 4 catches, 133 yards 2 TD
Defense: FS Jarred Holley- 4 tackles, 2 INT
I think your kicker should be listed as a player of the game as well.
Great game, not much to say other than both of our offenses were rather anemic here. Ohio State was able to control the clock by pounding Jammal Berry who finished with 140 yards on 33 carries.
2 key plays.
Late in the game, 3rd and 1 for the Bearcats DEEP in Buckeye territory and they are stuffed by All American DT John Simon and US settles for 3.
Then, with One Minute left and the Buckeyes killing clock. 3rd and 4 and a first down seals the deal. Jammall Berry gets hit behind the line, but manages to stiff arm the UC defender and fall forward for a 1st down and the win.
Once again, great game JFace. You are by FAR the best defensive player at this game of all time.

26(2-1)|(1-2)8#9 Wisconsin Badgers @ Texas A&M Aggies
Wisconsin's defense made up for last week's let down against #1 Auburn with a beat down of Texas A&M. The Aggies were held scoreless for most of the game until getting a kickoff return for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Montee Ball once again hit the 200 yard rushing mark, and Jon Budmayr is finally looking like a good quarterback capable of leading a team.
The Badgers got the scoring started with a touchdown pass to Jeff Duckworth (4 receptions, 155 yards, 2TD) early in the 1st quarter. The Aggies were unable to move the ball in the 1st quarter, but thanks to their defense forcing a fumble Wisconsin wasn't able to get back in the end zone until midway through the 2nd quarter with another touchdown pass to Duckworth. The Badgers came up with a goal line stand to end the 2nd half, stopping the Aggies on a 4th & 1 inside the 5 yard line.
Wisconsin would add 4 field goals in the 2nd half, and extended the lead to 23-0 before the Aggies got the return for a touchdown. A missed field goal early in the half kept the Aggies scoreless and out of reach from Wisconsin. The Badgers also intercepted Jamelil Showers and forced a fumble on a sack in the 2nd half to keep the Aggie offense off the scoreboard.
Man, Ole Miss gave me this damn game. Three interceptions on the first 4 drives set me up in incredible field position for McCallebb to get a few scores on the ground. Dyer took over for most of the second half, but was pretty much shut down on the ground. Trotter continues to be slightly erratic, which is an issue that will need to resolve itself if Auburn wishes to take down some of the SECs tougher opponents.
Tigers have to get ready for an underrated Miss State team next week, as they look to continue to justify their #1 overall ranking.

One week after dominating the defending national champs, the Ohio State road show continued. For the second straight, the Buckeyes put up 42 points in the first half and cruised to another blowout victory. What once was worry about the young Ohio State offense after only scoring 7 two games ago seems like a distant memory. Jammal Berry exploded for 134 yards on 13 carries and freshman QB Harrell was superb, completing 13 of 15 passes and 4 tds.
Player of the game goes to MLB Storm Klein11 solo tackles, 3 TFLs, 3 forced fumbles.
Next week the Penn State Nitany Lions roar into the Shoe looking to pay the Bucks back for the past two seasons.

(3-1)|(2-1)#7 Wisconsin Badgers @ #17 Iowa HawkeyesBadgers survive OT thriller behind the legs of Montee BallWisconsin lost QB Jon Budmayr midway through the game, and allowed Iowa to successfully complete a 14-point 4th quarter comeback, but managed to survive the overtime period to beat the 17th ranked Hawkeyes in Iowa City. Montee Ball rushed for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Jeff Duckworth had 105 yards receiving to lead the Badgers statistically.Iowa got on the board first after a muffed punt set up a short touchdown pass from James Vandenberg to Keenan Davis. But before the half ended, Montee Ball broke off an 84 yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 heading into the locker room. The 3rd quarter started with WR Jared Abbrederis taking the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, and TE Marquis Mason caught a touchdown pass from Budmayr later in the 3rd to take a 21-7 lead into the 4th quarter. Iowa's defense played ridiculously well in the 4th quarter, but their offense had a tough time moving the ball until late in the quarter, when HB Jewel Hampton caught a 12 yard touchdown pass with less than 3 minutes left. After forcing a 3-and-out and using all their timeouts, Iowa got the ball back with 2:00 left and 60 yards to go. The Hawkeyes got a big run from Hampton, and a huge pass from Vandenberg to set up a 4 yard pass to Demetrius Johnson with :40 left to tie the game at 21-21, and sent it to overtime. The Badgers won the toss, and forced a quick 3-and-out for Iowa, who settled for the 35 yard field goal to take a 24-21 lead. Wisconsin needed almost no time, however, to make Iowa nervous, as Ball broke through on the first play and got down to the Iowa 8 yard line. 2 plays later, on 3rd and goal, Ball took a pitch to the outside and walked into the endzone untouched to end the game, 27-24.
