    LSU 3

This game was a walk in the park for OSU. The defense held LSU to 143 yards and 7 first downs, while the offense racked up 560 yards. The Buckeyes' run game was a disappointment (37 carries for just 101 yards 2.7 YPA) but the passing game picked up the slack. Braxton Miller threw 5 touchdown passes and true freshman backup QB Rashad Rogers added 3 touchdown (2 passing, 1 rushing). WR Devin Smith was recipient on 3 of the 7 passing touchdowns. On the other side LSU QB Steven Rivers played a lot like his NFL brother played last season, 0 touchdowns/5 interceptions.

    Freshmen stats:
    QB Rashad Rogers 5-8 165 yards 2 TD/0 INT; 8 carries 21 yards 1 TD
HB David Jones 10 carries 52 yards
WR Robbie Robinson 2 catches 95 yards 1 TD
    OLB Nick Lewis 1 INT
K Deon Crews 1/1 FG 40 yard long

    Week 3:

    A Thin Win

The Seminoles inch past Stanford, 19-14.
Very hard fought and competitive between Coach Twists Seminoles and Coach G Money's Cards. Here are the stats to the game:
    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]
The game would be played at Doak Campbell stadium in a torrential downpour, which would make throwing the ball and field position a major factor. The Seminoles would grind out a drive at the end of the first quarter that would culminate in a 6 yard rushing TD by Devonta Freeman. The second quarter would see interceptions by both sides change the field position and allow the Sems to make a 10-0 lead with a 40 yard Jack Clark FG. The Cards would come roaring back with a 7 yard TD pass to HB Kelvyn Young and close the lead to 10-7.
The Seminoles would take the second half KO and promptly throw an INT. The Cards threw it right back. After a long pass and run to TE George O'Leary, the Seminoles drive stalled and they had to settle for a 26 yard FG. This gave the Sems a 13-7 lead. The 4th quarter yielded 2 46 yard Jack Clark FGs pushing the lead to 19-7. The Cards would score on a 17 yard pass to Ty Mongomery with 2 minutes left and promptly KOed with 3 TOs remaining and trailing 19-14. RB James Wilder gained the first down and the ballgame was over.
GG G Money!! Great defense to hold those FGs.

    Week 4

    Ohio State 48
    Houston 3

The offense continues to rack up big plays, especially QB Braxton Miller and WR Devin Smith. Miller threw three more touchdown passes in this game and D. Smith was the recipient of 2 TD throws. Evan Spencer caught the third TD pass from Miller. The Buckeyes led 24-3 going into halftime. HB Rod Smith made it 31-3 with a short rushing score. OLB Maurice Fuller essentially put the game out of reach with a 79-yard fumble recovery TD. The backups played the rest of the game and added 10 points to the OSU lead.

Houston's quarterbacks took a beating in this game, and I honestly don't have a good count on the QB sacks allowed by the Cougars. Their quarterbacks refused to stand in pocket for more than 3 seconds without scrambling. This led to some big runs but also resulted in numerous sacks. The quarterbacks also coughed up at least six fumbles, though only two were recovered by OSU. Houston's starting QB Matthew Davis left the game with an injury, and he is expected to miss the next 4 weeks. In total Houston's QB's had 33 carries and I'd wager at least 30 were designed pass plays.

    Freshmen stats for week 4:
    QB Rashad Rogers 2/4 91 yards 1 TD/1 INT; 2 carries 5 yards
HB David Jones 4 carries 38 yards; 83 kick and punt return yards
MLB Tim Dunbar 3 tackles 1 sack
DE Craig Mirvil 1 fumble forced
K Deon Crews 2/2 FG 44 yard long

That was a good battle Twister18. I like defensive battles. This game was on hell of a battle. The big key was your O LINE. I couldn't get any pressure and you controlled the LOS. I actually had to make a couple of changes to my offense to get a spark going on. I play USC in 2 hours. I hope my line up changes did me some good. Once again GG bro and gltrots.

    Week 8

Palo Alto, CA - This was the game of the week heading into week 8, and the game lived up to the hype. #2 Ohio State was hoping to remain undefeated but had a difficult hurdle against #3 Stanford. Things started well for the Buckeyes as Devin Smith made a leaping grab, and broke a tackle in mid-air. This led to a long TD reception. Stanford evened the score with a short rushing score. The TD was setup by some nice pass plays by QB Brett Nottingham. Things settled down in the second quarter and the teams traded possessions. OSU broke the tie game with a minute left in the half. OSU QB Braxton Miller completed his second TD pass of the game. Evan Spencer was the recipient of this TD pass. OSU took a 14-7 lead into the locker room.

The Buckeyes got the opening kick of the second half and made the most of this possession. Miller completed his third TD pass of this game. Spencer was the recipient on the third TD pass. He slipped behind the Cardinals defense and caught a long TD, 57 yards. The 14-point lead did not stand for an extended period of time. Nottingham threw his first TD pass of the game and the lead was down to 7. The score remained 21-14 midway through the fourth quarter. OSU freshman kicker made a 42-yard field goal to bring the lead to 10. Earlier in the game Crews missed a similar kick, but was able to put this one through the uprights. Stanford quickly answered with another TD pass from Nottingham. TE Matt Lane slipped behind the zone coverage and was wide open for the TD pass. OSU received the ball with three minutes left in the game. The Buckeyes converted some huge first downs and managed to chew out the clock.

GMONEY 15 - that was a very entertaining game. A few big breaks on my end were the difference in this game.

    Ohio State 24 Stanford 20

    3rd down conversions - OSU 6/12 STAN 3/7
    Total offense - OSU 370 STAN 262

Yes indeed it was a good game. You made the key plays in the 4th QTR and once again I didn't. I 'll take games like this any day as this game was smash mouth SIM style football. Best of luck to you the rest of the way.

    Week 9

Columbus, OH - This was either a well played game by both defenses or a poor game from the offenses. A couple big plays for OSU and some missed opportunities for Illinois were the difference in this game. Ohio State QB Braxton Miller completed less than 50% of his passes and most of these missed passes came on third down. The Buckeyes converted just 3 of 11 third down conversions. This is a big drop off from the Stanford game. Miller was also contained in the pocket and his only big run came on the last offensive play of the game. The only Buckeye offensive TD was scored in the second quarter on a slant pass from Miller to Devin Smith. Smith grabbed the short pass and used his speed to score a 53-yard TD. The other OSU TD was scored by the defense. Illinois QB Reilly O'Toole was sacked and coughed up a fumble. DT Michael Bennett scooped up the fumble and ran in the short score. Illinois cut the lead to 17-10 late in the fourth quarter but OSU got the ball and ran out the clock.

For Illinois O'Toole was a big reason the Illini stayed in this game but he also made some costly mistakes. The junior QB passed for 306 yards and the only Illinois TD, but he was intercepted twice and lost a fumble.

sydeburnz - you did a good job keeping this game close. I had the clear advantage in terms of roster talent but could not do much on offense.

UCLA wins a tough one against Arizona St. 28-24.

This was one of those games that seemed like the Bruins were destined to lose but, pulled it out in the end. This win sets up some big games for UCLA the next two weeks. Brett Hundley had another strong game but, the 3 int's could have made the 304 yards and 4 TD's all for nothing if they would have lost. He was the player of the game for the second week in a row.

I have video of the game between me and Hokie Affect but, It takes soooo long to edit when I record the whole game. I just started recording the highlights when the game is over. I did this with the UCLA USC game and it was so much quicker. I might not even post the other game now. He killed me anyway. LOL

The Fighting Illini did not enter tonights game thinking easy win... none of them have been easy. What Illinois did have was the swagger only a well coached, well perpared team can muster.

Going away to Northwestern posed few problems, but Home Field Advantage is often over looked. Tonight was no exception.

Receivng the Kickoff, the Illini managed a quick score with a 25yd strike from O'Toole to #18 Whitlow. Northwestern answered back in resounding fashion with a 13YD scramble by their Qb not 30 seconds later.
A Couple of FG's put the game tie going into the 2nd Quarter.

Northwestern was dominated in the second quarter by the Fighting Illini, who decided to try some clock management given the fact NW scored and moved the ball so easily the 1st Quarter. Illinois scored twice in the red zone wiht a HB Slash and a Smash to the TE closing the first half 24-10 Illinois.

The 3rd Quarter was more of a touchy feely kind of thing with the only points being another pass from O'Toole to Harris for 19Yds in the closing seconds.

The 4th Quarter was all Northwestern, out scoring the Illini 4 Touchdowns to Two. Pulling within a Touchdown. With 1:15 left O'Toole managed a 80YDstrike to answer back and on the very next NW possession with 51 seconds left CB Brandon WIlliams snatched another 6 points (FG Kicker Zalewski 1PT) leaving 40 seconds left in the game.

Northwestern were unable to move the ball but managed a miracle in the endzone for an addtional 6 pts, which was amazing the amount of Fighting Illini in the vicinity... one can only imagine the amount of eye gouging taking place. But alas it was too little too late. Illinois walk out victorious 45-35

    O'Toole threw for 24/38 420 4 TD
Siemian made 30/46 for 541 Yds 4 TD and one crucial INT

Rushing was nothing special as usual. Northwestern was able to control the LOS with a 16:1 pancake ratio.

Both teams had Wide Receivers around 200Yds receiving

    Just Win baby!

Stanford defeats UCLA for the 4th time in a row in another nail biter that came down to the forth quarter.

Stanford played a great game and UCLA ended up being way to conservative. When you play to not lose a lot of the times that is what happens.

Always a great battle when playing you. I tried to come out of the gates a little different in this game and it almost bit me in my ass. I dug deep into my PB this game and it helped a little. I really missed Sanders this game. Then again Wright had a huge run to set up a TD. That punt return after he muffed it was big as well.
