    Forty-Niners Back to Winning Ways

The San Francisco 49ers notched a pitoval win against division rival Arizona Cardinals behind the strength of a dominating defensive performance that saw Arizona turn the ball over six times, including five interceptions. Offensively, Rookie HB Cedric Shepherd had a breakout game, scoring three times to put away the Cardinals.

The bigger story to come out of the game, is the benching of long-time 49ers HB Frank Gore. After an early fumble, that San Francisco managed to recover, Gore was relegated to the bench allowing Shepherd and fellow Rookie HB Kenneth Hennings to share the workload. Asked after the game if the Gore benching was just for the game, Coach Boom stated, "we'll just have to see what happened, Shepherd showed what he can do and we'll give 'em the rock until he gives us a reason not to."
