    San Francisco Notches First Win
    defeats Dallas 17-14

The San Francisco 49ers could not afford to start the season 0-3, but it appeared headed that way after Colin Kaepernick was intercepted on the first play from scrimmage by Dallas linebacker Sean Lee. Lee would take the interception into the end zone to give the Cowboys an early 7-0 lead. Nevertheless, Kaepernick shook off the interception to lead San Francisco to consecutive touchdown drives and put the 49ers on top, 14-7. The first touchdown, a short three yard reception by AJ Jenkins, culminated a drive in which the Niners went exclusively through the air. The second, on the first play of the following possession, on a perfectly executed WR screen to second-year WR Jameel Sommerfield.

The Cowboys tied the game on a short TD pass from Daniel Romeo to WR Dez Bryant who had 7 receptions for 81 yards on the day. Both defenses settle down in the second half leading to a tie game entering the fourth quarter. The Niners eventually broke through as a 52 yard FG by rookie Kicker Blake McNulty sailed through the uprights to give San Francisco a 17-14 lead. With approximately four minutes to play, the Cowboys began their to drive to tie the game and drove down the field to at least get into field goal range. With the Cowboys in range, an ill-advised sack on second down forced the Cowboys out of range. A failed attempt on third down to get back into range was followed up with failure to convert on fourth, giving the Niners their first victory of the season.

RynoAid, Good game. My defense was able to put enough pressure on your QB when it mattered, especially when you had just gotten into FG range at the end of the game.
