Vikings Get Back in Win Column; Sweep Season Series Versus Bears
    [IMG]
Chicago, IL - The Vikings & Bears would come into their Week 4 match-up to play for the second time already this season. The Vikings took game 1 in Minnesota 30-20, both teams were now sitting at 1-2 and a game back in the division.
This game would start out just like their first one did - with a Chicago turnover on their first play from scrimmage. QB Cutler would be sacked on a play-action pass by 2nd-yr CB Antoine Hudson and LE Brian Robison would fall on the ball at the Bears 5 yard line. AP would take the hand-off on the very next play and score to put the Vikings up 7. The Bears would respond, however, as Matt Forte would take a pass over the middle on the Bears next offensive play 80 yards to paydirt to tie the score. The Bears would be forced to kick 3 towards the end of the quarter after a Viking goal line stand inside the 5 yard line. Bears lead after one quarter of play 10-7.
The Vikings would regain control in the 2nd quarter, and would score 14 unanswered points - a 5-yard TD run by AP as well as a 5-yard TD catch by WR Percy Harvin. The Bears would answer with a nice drive and FG with 1:06 remaining in the half, and the Vikings couldn't get back into FG range before the end of the half. Score at halftime - 21-13 in favor of MN.
The third quarter (and second half) was all Minnesota. The Viking defense keyed in on the Bears' limited offensive weapons - WR Brandon Marshall & TE Miles Hall - holding them to a combined 6 catches for just 77 yards, and 0 TD. Cutler was only able to complete 12 of his 27 attempts, and was sacked 3 times on the day (twice by Jared Allen). Two Blair Walsh FG's, a Toby Gerhart TD and a TD catch by rookie WR Heimuli accounted for all of the scoring in the second half.
