Vikings Roll Texans 57-3; Score 31 Points in 1st Quarter

Houston, TX - The Vikings came into Houston this Sunday riding a 3-game winning streak that had helped them move back into a tie for first place in the NFC North division. The Texans, on the other hand, were sitting at 1-5 on the year. Their coach was fired after an 0-4 start, and new head coach Bobibblesackin was still in the process of figuring out how to get the most out of this Texan roster.
This game got out of hand, and quickly. The Vikings would score 31 unanswered points in the first quarter! QB Tony Romo finally showed some flashes of his old self, and would throw 3 TD's in the quarter - a 52-yarder to WR Percy Harvin on the second play from scrimmage, and two to rookie WR Brandon Heimuli (who has really come into his own the last couple of weeks). Schaub was picked off twice in the quarter, and 5 times for the game. FS Nick Collins would snag two of the 5 picks, taking one of them 41 yards to paydirt in the 1st quarter. Score after 1 quarter - 31-0 in favor of MN.
The second quarter was much of the same. The Texans did finally get into Viking territory, but a goal line stand forced them to settle for 3 points (which would turn out to be the only points of the game for Houston). Romo would throw another TD pass this quarter to TE John Carlson. Score at half - 41-3 in favor of MN.
The Vikings went into clock management mode in the second half, but continued to move the ball. AP would finish the day with 184 yds on just 21 carries. Gerhart finished with 53 yds on 9 carries, and rookie Illory tacked on another 32 yds on 7 carries. The Texans were held to 203 total offensive yards for the day, and Matt Schaub finished with the worst stat line of his career - 7 of 28, 158 yds, 0 TD, 5 INT. There are rumors swirling that he might be benched or traded in the very near future.
    Players of the Game:

Nope, just the Madden gods favoring one team over the other today! Bobibblesackin will be a great asset for us moving forward. Good guy; sim gamer. The Texans might not be the right fit for his gameplay style though. I'm guessing that he would fare much better with a different team.

I just saw the score when it was posted and no review so I figured it might have been CPU but then realized you were still editing and writing the review. Good game review and crazy good day for the Vikings! I love how this game can be so unpredictable. One week everything will be clicking and another your QB can have a meltdown. Congrats on having a week when everything was just clicking!
