A new season and hopefully some new results for the Ravens, especially with a new offense installed that is meant to tap into the full potential of QB Joe Flacco. The Black Birds played pretty safe offensive football for 3 quarters, taking chances when they saw fit and capitalizing. Torrey Smith came away with 80 of his 104 yards on one long touchdown pass. In the end, inability to stop the running of Trent Richardson (34 car, 122 yds), the receiving prowess of rookie Brandon Brooks (8 rec, 122 yds, TD), and two late interceptions by Flacco cost Baltimore the game. Looking on the bright side, number one overall pick Byron Steele is showing the skills that warranted the top spot with 4 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. He also is opening the offense up for other guys by drawing attention away from the other receivers. It'll be interesting to watch this Flacco, Rice, Steele combination go up against Freeman, Richardson, Brooks for years to come.
