Titans Finish Jags at Home; 4th straight win
The Titans came into this weeks game hopeful to put some gap in the AFC South. After the first drive of the game the Jags looked strong with a killer drive that ended in a FG to put them up top 3-0. "That drive was a long drive to start the game, it was huge that we held them to a FG, a TD would have killed us" The Titans as also off to a slow start on offense. 'We have slow starts on offense, it happens' they would send Jags in a 3 and out which ignited the Titans offense. They had a good drive to push it down the field to only be capped off my a Chris Johnson TD. Chris had a slow day but still ended up over 100 yards rushing. Defense would quickly set up a 77 yard pick 6 to push the lead even further. Jake Locker capped the half with a great pin point throw to Nate Washington 48 yards down the field for a TD. "The throw was money but the catch was even better, as Nate had to catch it instantly being tackled into the endzone". 2nd half was all defense on both sides as Titans only managed 2 field goals in the 2nd half. Titans are now 6-3 which is great considering they started 2-3
Denver Broncos 30 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24 (OT)The Broncos went down to Tampa Bay looking to ride their recent hot streak and turn it into 3 straight wins. The game was close throughout, as the teams were trading scores. The Bucs couldn't stop Moreno and the Broncos D couldn't stop Josh Freeman, either running or passing really. So we'll pick it up in the 4th quarter after the Bucs scored on a Blount rushing TD to tie the game at 17. The Broncos were looking to use up clock and run it down field, but Fred Jackson burst through the line on a 3rd and inches and ran it 71 yards for a Broncos TD to put them up by 7 with 2:45 left in the game. But again, the Broncos D couldn't hold, and the Bucs drove down field and scored a TD on a 2 yard run by Blount with 1:11 left in the game. The score was tied 24-24 when the Broncos took the ball at their 20 with 2 timeouts. Sanchez spread the field and got them down to the Bucs 40 yard line with 30 seconds left and only 1 timeout left. So the Broncos decided to try and move it closer by running the ball up the middle and running the no huddle. On 3rd and 3 from the Bucs 33, Moreno burst through the middle and was at the Bucs 17 yard line, but the clock was ticking down to :04 seconds left. Realizing he wasn't going to make it to the end zone, Moreno tried to dive down, but fumbled the ball, and the Broncos couldn't challenge because it was inside 2 minutes left in the game. So the game would go to OT. The Broncos received the opening kick, and started moving down field, and on 3rd and 7 from their own 38, Sanchez found Demaryius Thomas, who had beaten his man up the sideline, and Thomas shook a defender and ran it in for the game winning score for a 62 yard TD catch and run.The Broncos win streak is now at 3 games and they head to Oakland next week to face their Division Foe Oakland Raiders. Giant KillersGiants Knock Off Undefeated Panthers 21 - 3 The New York Giants were looking for answers after back to back losses gave up their lead on the NFC East. With the undefeated Carolina Panthers coming to MetLife Stadium, the Giants knew they had to play a perfect game on both sides of the ball to try and regain their balance. Despite the score, these two teams battled in an all out slug fest. Both teams started out the game by putting points on the board. Carolina put up a Field Goal and the Giants scored a TD on the legs of HB Corey Mays from 1 yard out at the end of the first. From here on out, the game would be all defense. Only one scoring opportunity was allowed by either team in the next 2 quarters, but unfortunately for the Panthers, the Olindo Mare field goal attempt fell just short. Both teams traded turnovers; Carolina with 2 interceptions of QB Shane Boals, and the Giants picked of Cam Newton once. Neither offense could find anything to work against these tough defenses. The Giants found that spark in the form of lady luck. New York had the ball early in the 4th quarter and managed to move the ball to the Carolina 48. The offensive line dialed up a perfectly executed run that sprung HB Corey Mays for a 48 yard Touchdown, giving New York a 14-3 lead. After the Giants defense stalled the Carolina retaliation, the offensive line and Corey Mays did it again. This time to the tune of 71 yards, vaulting the Giants to a 21-3 lead with under 5 minutes to play. Again, the defense of the Giants played near perfect defense (with the help of a dropped pass on 4th down) the Giants held Carolina to a turnover on downs. From here, it was all New York as they burned up the remainder of the clock and secured the 21-3 victory over the previously unbeaten Panthers. Next week, the Giants face off against division rival Washington and the Carolina Panthers take on the NFC East's Dallas Cowboys in two extremely crucial games in determining the NFC Playoff Picture, especially for the NFC East. @B0BJR0526 - Extremely good game! Score does not indicate how competitive this game was. An ABSOLUTE BLAST! Good Luck the rest of the season, hope to see you in the Playoffs. Oh, and BEAT DALLAS!
