Florida takes down rival Georgia, 21 to 14

The Florida Gators defeated the rival Georgia Bulldogs 21 to 14 to get a leg up in the SEC East race. It was a good old fashioned SEC defensive battle the whole way through. "Our offense couldn't do squat, the defense played their butts off and won this game for us," said Hickerson. The offense did come through on the 1 drive they needed to come through on however, tied at 7 in the 4th quarter with around 3 minutes remaining the Gator offense converted a 3rd and long on a screen pass to Mack Brown that set them up inside the red zone. Brown later ran it in from 5 yards out to give the Gators a 14 to 7 lead. The Bulldogs would take over with 2 time outs left and around a minute and a half on the clock. However Murray would be picked off by Marcus Roberson who would return it to the endzone to make it 21 to 7 and seal the game. The Bulldogs would score as time expired to make it a 21 to 14 final. The difference in the game was turnovers. The Bulldog offense moved the ball, but turned it over 4 times. The Gator offense did not move the ball, but only had 1 turnover. Florida had TWO first downs the entire game, and only 210 yards of total offense, compared to 16 first downs and over 440 yards of offense for the Bulldogs.

I feel the pain ptown...turnovers...seems to be the key to this game...for me if I have 2 or less..there is a resonable chance for victory..more than that...no way

Wisconsin Rebounds With Dominating Victory Over #2 Ohio State

Coming off of a disappointing performance, Wisconsin was hoping to return to the winning ways against undefeated divisional rival Ohio State. This was a make or break game for the Badgers. With only 6 conference games this year, a loss to Ohio State would likely shut them out of the Big 10 Championship as well as a BCS Bowl game.

It didn't look good for Wisconsin early in the game. It was as if USC had handed Ohio State all the keys to making Wisconsin's defense look bad. So on the opening possession, the Buckeyes marched down the field and took a 7-0 lead. The Badgers didn't have much of an answer either. They struggled on offense in the 1st quarter. Thankfully, they started to shore up their defensive issues though.

Things started to come together for Wisconsin in the 2nd quarter. Their defense kept up the intensity and the offense started to move the ball. They would add 10 points and lead the Buckeyes 10-7 at the half. Wisconsin continued that effort in the 2nd half and would shut out Ohio State and add another 14 points making the final score 24-7.

Players of the Game: The Defensive Line - Wisconsin rarely had to blitz as they continually got pressure on OSU QB Braxton Miller throughout the game from their DL. There were a total of 8-9 sacks and the majority were from the DL.

Upcoming: Wisconsin returns home and hosts the Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue is 4-4 with 3 conferences so Wisconsin should be able to win this one.
