Sluggish 1st Half Leads to 2nd Half Blowout

The first half was ugly, so let's skip past it altogether. OSU was actually lucky to be tied as Northwestern had a TD called back for clipping.
Without star HB Jamaal Berry, OSU finally broke the game open in the 3rd. On their first play of the half, "Philly" Brown broke slant pattern and took it 78 yards for a TD. On their next possession, they stalled in NW territory before Drew Basil hammered a 54 yd FG that would've been good from 60. Backup RB Rod Smith added a 1 yd run to make it 24-3 after 3. Smith scored twice more in the 4th, first on a 63 yd screen pass then on a 40 yd rush where he bowled over a defender 5 yds deep and outran a few other defenders. While they were sluggish early, Coach Keves was pleased that they played hard all the way through and were even able to play the 2nd team for the last 5 minutes.

    Miller 10-17 225 yds 2 TD 2 INT
    Smith 23 rushes 154 yds 2 TD 2 rec 75 yds TD
Brown 3 rec 101 yds TD
