Texans Nab First Victory An early season divisional game saw the 1-0 Colts march into Reliant Stadium to face the 0-1 Texans. Houston jumped on the board early and often after a pair of Andrew Luck interceptions put the Colts in an early 13-0 deficit. Arian Foster torched the Colts in the opening half but adjustments slowed down the Houston ground game and kept Indy in the ball game. As hard as the Colts defense played, the offense kept digging holes that were too big to overcome. QB Andrew Luck ended the day with 4 interceptions to his 1 touchdown to FB Derrick Coleman. On the other side of the ball, Texans QB Jacob Jakubiek didn't light the world on fire but was efficient. The "game changer" was right before halftime when a play action went 67 yards to Jordy Nelson who was shoe strung tackled at the 5 but resulted in Houston taking another fg and going to the half up 16-14. MLB Brian Cushing picked off Luck twice a long with CB's Jonathan Joseph and CB Johnson Bademosi to give Houston field position & more points to snag their first victory of 2015 and an early season divisional win. QB Jacob Jakubiek: 15/20, 243 Yards, TD, INT RB Arian Foster: 32 Att, 133 Yards, TD WR Jordy Nelson: 6 Rec, 120 Yards, TD MLB Brian Cushing: 8 Tackles, 2 INT QB Andrew Luck: 10/19, 137 Yards, TD, 4 INT RB CJ Spiller: 16 Att, 67 Yards WR Alex Grayson: 4 Rec, 53 Yards OLB DJ Williams: 7 Tackles, INT
So the Cowboys went on the road and lost to the Browns. The Boys are still working out the kinks with a new offense but the story of the day was 7 drops by Dez Bryant. Not 3, not 4, nor 5 or 6, but freaking 7 drops. It crushed the offense at key moments in the game as Dez was wide open but just couldn't bring the ball in. As a result the team was put in a tough spot and Romo tried to force the ball elsewhere resulting in INT's. Romo was also 20 for 51 passing which is a crazy low completion percentage (Dez's 7 drops plus 3 more from other guys played a major role). The Cowboys run game is turible, just turible! 59 yards on 19 carries for Murray. Despite all that the Cowboys managed to come back tie it up and send the game to OT. The Browns ended up with a game winning FG after Dallas was unable to score with the first possession in OT.
