    Giants Defense Swarms Washington
The Giants Defense Forced 6 Turnovers in Rout
    34-21

The New York Giants traveled to Landover, MD to face NFC East foe Washington in a pivotal early season game for both teams. Washington was riding the momentum of their first victory in what seemed like years and New York was looking to continue their fast start to the season. Stopping Washington rookie HB Wells was the main part of the gameplan for the Giants, but they also wanted to stop the pass by making sure TE Cooley did not do what he normally does, make big plays. They were able to do both.
The Giants started off receiving the ball to start the game and marched down the field and notched a FG to take the 3-0 lead. On the first offensive series for Washington, everything started to unfold. DE Jason Pierre-Paul sacked QB Matt Hill and forced a fumble, which DT Marvin Austin was able to recover and take to the paint, giving New York a 10-0 lead. Washington began to get nervous, knowing they could not fall behind to this Giants team. In the beginning of the second quarter however, they made their hole deeper. QB Hill was picked off by CB A.C. O'Neal and O'Neal took it 56 yards for the Pick 6, giving Big Blue a 17-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter. This would notch back to back games with a Pick 6 for O'Neal. His day would not be over.
Washington was able to find rhythm and drove down the field on their next possession, scoring on a 3 yard run by Wells, bringing them closer to the Giants. Before the half ended, New York added another field goal, giving them a 20-7 lead going to the locker rooms. Washington needed something to spark a come back. That spark came in the form of Rookie Back Wells. In the 3rd, Wells split the Giants defense and scored on a 57 yard burn, pulling Washington within 6. After trading the ball back and forth, Washington found themselves looking to continue their momentum. However, that would be shut down by none other than CB A.C. O'Neal. AC returned another Matt Hill pass to paydirt from 34 yards out, giving him his 2nd pick 6 of the game and the Giants a more comfortable 27-14 lead.
After forcing more interceptions and notching another score on a 6 yard run by HB Corey Mays, the Giants would cruise to victory and a 3-0 record to start out the season. Unfortunately for Washington, their high hopes of turning their luck around were dashed, but have a bye week next week before a game against the Philadelphia Eagles in hopes of getting back to .500. For the Giants, its the beginning of their AFC North gauntlet on the road in the Steel City to face the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field before a pivotal game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    Houston we have a problem
Reliant Stadium was the host of the Colts second divisional matchup of the season. They are now 2-0 in the division on the road and came out and dominated this one from the get go. Horstman threw his first int of the season thanks cp0990 for allowing Ed Reed become a Texan. I really hope the city of Baltimore is ready to burn you at the stake for allowing him to leave. Now back to the game Horstman other than the one interception had a really decent game. His completion percentage wasnt the greatest but still threw for 229yds and 1td. Rookie Whitney continues his start to his rookie campaign with 7rec 128yds 1td in a game where the Colts were able to pound the rock. Cox who only started 6 games last year due to injury rushed 27 times for 134yds and 2 tds. The story of this game as been the case all 3 weeks so far is the defense. While DRC/Vontea weren't in the stats to often they did handle their matchups very well. Bethea got 2 picks in this one. Back to Back weeks for 1st rd pick SS Diggs with another pick in this one and rookie Taylor also got a pick to give the Colts 4 for the game. Up next for the Colts is a road game at Minnesota and CA. Colts 27 Texans 3

Panthers get by Saints with last minute rally, 24-21

Beason salutes the crowd after scoring a TD in the fourth quarter

Any other day Olindo Mare would be the hero for hitting the Game-Winning FG to beat the New Orleans Saints today. But on this evening, MLB Jon Beason was simply outstanding and he was the true player of the game. His performance has catapulted him to be a DPOTY nominee. Beason would not only pick off Peyton Manning 3 times, he would return a fumble for a TD (which I will break down). With Cam being so sporatic throughout the game, the defense needed to step up. They would limit Peyton Manning and stop Peyton Hillis on the day.

Let me break down this key play..visualize with me...
    the setup...

Game tied 14-14 with 3:35 left when Peyton Manning throws a pass over the outreached hands of Jon Beason, to his TE Daniel Thomas for a 34 yard score, making the score 21-14 New Orleans

Panthers forced to punt after going three and out...

1st and 10 from the Saints 39 yard line...1:17 to go...Manning takes the snap..and throws...an incomplete pass to Peyton Hillis

2nd and 10 from the Saints 39 yard line..Manning hands the ball to Hillis for no gain..TO Carolina

3rd and 10 from the Saints 29 yard line...Manning hands the ball to Hillis..Hillis runs left then gets lit up by rookie Dario Dickerson..ball squirts out....Jon Beason scoops it up and races to the endzone to tie the game again. 21 all.

On the next offensive drive, the Saints would throw two incomplete passes..then on 3rd and 10...Manning steps back and throws a ball over the middle to see it only be intercepted by none other than Jon Beason, his 3rd pick of the day.

Olindo Mare comes out and kicks the game winning FG with no time left

..to BK's credit the game was laggy..and I have never seen such a turnover infested game by both teams. GG man..

Titans Upend Bears on the Road
    Score.PNG
Titans advance on the season 2-1. This team is all about good defense and about the rushing attack. Defense forced 6 turnovers and had 2 running backs reach over 100 yards. Coach said after the game that when you have a struggling QB there is no better way to put up points than to run the ball hard and play good D. Stats don't show Locker having a good day 5/11 75 yards but if you ask coach all he could say was that he looked a lot better then earlier in the year. He missed an open deep ball that WR Kenny Britt misread and overran by about 5 yards or else he could of tacked up about 70 more yards and a TD. He came up big for us. Our 3rd down efficiency still sucks! This is an issue for the team and puts more on QB Locker. Though Coach seems confident that he is he man to go with. This rushing attack was weak last year, but this season bringing in Rookie C Brice Riley has opened up some major holes up the middle. Defensively this team has a scary secondary and one of the big additions and threats SS Timothy Mingley who had a pick 6 in today's game he also tacked on a team high 5 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.
