Akron would come to EMU expecting to win, but would crawl away with a hummiliating loss. Akron would drive down the field on the opening drive. This however would be the last time they smelled the redzone. EMU defense would dominate the line of scrimmage only allowing 22 rushing yards on 20 carries. EMU sophmore HB (Wolfe) would run for 100+ and JR QB (Payne) would throw for 200+. EMU kicker would start to establish him self as a threat going 4-4 on FG's with a long of 47. EMU is still in high hopes as they start the conference off 1-0. Coaches comments (After seeing how the team is progressing I feel that it will come down to the final game on our schedule. EMU vs. CMU will be the conference championship. The actual championship game will be a formality. )

Rivals clash as the UCF Knights traveled north to meet their hated rival, Marshall. The Knights game planned all week for what they knew was going to be a superior passing attack.
Marshall received the ball first and just like the Knights suspected, drove the ball down through the air for the TD. The Knights would answer back with a FG that would conclude scoring in the first.
The second quarter would belong to the Knights. A pick in the endzone would kill the next Marshall drive. The Knights would drive 80 yardsand cap of the drive with a Davis 6 yard TD. The next Marshall series was stopped on a pitch out to the RB which was stripped and returned by Knights safety Swaby. Another solid drive and score would put the Knights up 24=7 at the half.
The 3rd quarter was a possession battle as either team could get into the endzone. The 4th would be a bit different.
Godfrey found Josh Wright for a 27 yard score at the beginning of the quarter to go up 31-7. Marshall showing their never quit attitude, takes the kick-off 92 yards for the TD. After some possesion changes, the Herd would heave it up to Antavious Wilson for a 77 yard score. A failed on-sides kick put the Knights in great field position where Derek Stevens would take a 3rd & 2 33 yards for the score. This would seal their fate.
The Knights won the T.O.P. battle and the turnover battle which usually ends in a victory.

UCF will play UTEP next week.

Someone didn't tell Tulane that they were supposed to be a pushover. They proved to be quite the nuisance. However, a balanced attack from SMU proved to be too much for the Green Wave. Tulane managed to hold SMU to its lowest offensive total this season, although it was still quite an efficient game for the Mustangs. The Mustang D also stepped up forcing 4 TOs and pressuring the Tulane QB.

    UCF 59 - UTEP 21

UCF is rolling and their latest victim is UTEP. Game was over before it even started as the Knights rung up 42 in the 1st half. The running combo of the 2 Davis's proved to be too much for the lowly Knights. QB Godfrey and TE Brown had a break out game through the air. Next up, Memphis.
