Giants Run Through, Over, and Around RavensThe NYG Run Game Eclipses 300 Total Yards on the Ground in Rout of Baltimore 38-17 After a disappointing loss the the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Giants would host the second defending HK Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens out of the AFC North. Rainy conditions had the Giants worried about their offense and they were hoping to control the football against this talented Ravens team that has struggled to lock it down. The Giants running attack did that, and more. After allowing Baltimore to strike on their first possession after an untimely interception by rookie QB Shane Boals, the Giants turned it up. Scoring 4 straight touchdowns before the end of the first half. Corey Mays accounted for 3 of them, including a 57 yard burner. Right at the end of the second quarter, Boals made up for his mistake, finding an absolutely wide open Santonio Holmes in the endzone. The Giants went to the locker room with a 28-7 lead over the Ravens. Baltimore did not take long to score. After getting the ball in the second half, the Ravens QB Joe Flacco found TE Dickson, who shook a poor tackle and went 80 yards for the score, sparking some life in the Ravens. On the ensuing kickoff, the Ravens would force a fumble, but would be tackled just short of the goalline. The Giants defense put up on hell of a defensive stand, holding the Ravens to a field goal. That would be the last points the Giants would allow. On the next series, HB Ahmad Bradshaw made his name known on the day with an 87 yard touchdown run after gashing the Baltimore Defense straight up the middle. Adding a Tynes Field Goal early in the 4th quarter and shutting down the offense, including an interception in the redzone, the Giants would cruise to victory and to 5-1 on the season. Unfortunately for New York, the Ravens left their imprint in the city, as well as on three crucial Giants. RT Ben Oberste and star CB Corey Webster are both out for 5 weeks, and Safety Kenny Phillips will be unavailable fro 3 weeks. These injuries come right before a critical game against the division rival Dallas as the Giants gauntlet schedule continues on.
Man, Ravens really taking the year off after that championship lol
PICK FESTFalcons come out on top in turnover battle, defeat Chargers 24-10 Falcons CB Chris Owens had his best game of the season, finishing with 3 tackles, 3 ints, 1 forced fumble, and 1 TD. Atlanta - In a non-marquee game, the Falcons and Chargers squared off in what could only be described as a sloppy turn over battle. Both team's defenses feasted on interceptions as Rivers and Ryan provided plenty. They threw a combined 8 interceptions - all three of Ryan's came in the first half. It turned out that the Falcons were able to do more with the turnovers and that was really the difference in the ball game. One interception was returned for a touchdown by CB Chris Owens. That gave the Falcons the momentum they needed to hold onto a lead in an unimpressive offensive showing by both sides.
Titans Beat a Coachless Colts 24-3 While coach ND was struggling with some issues off field he still sent his team in this week well prepared for the Titans, or so he thought. This game could have been a lot better with the coach on the sidelines says Titans coach, but sometimes you have to continue pushing forward. The game was started off with a Chris Johnson 54 yard dash up the middle making some insane cuts and following some great blocking down the field. RB Chris Johnson said after the game 'that was probably my most explosive play this season and maybe even over the past 2 or 3 years'. This brought up a great spark to the team as CB Jason McCourty picked off QB Horstman taking it back to the house for 6. Locker would execute a wonder 2 minute drill starting from his own 2 yard line that set up a FG to end the half. 2nd half kick off was taken back to the house but there was a flag sending the play all the way back to the 10 yard line. They would later tack up another TD early in the 4th to put the game out of reach. Jake Locker had flashes of greatness and flashes of 4 ints. Colts did a great job of getting in his face and making him nervous. All his int's were forced throws that should not have been made. 'he will go back and look at the film and shake his head and hopefully shake it off' Numbers don't lie, he isn't having a good year. At 77/138 963 yards 4 TD and 13 ints. This is not his year, he needs to shake it off and help send this team to the playoffs. Advanced to 4-3 and sending Colts to 4-3 they are back to the point of striking for this spot. We get a struggling Ravens and then a bye to prepare for Jags. We cannot looks past the Ravens they aren't having the year like last year but we must not look past them. Need to get Jake Locker's head back on track and focused for the rest of the season.
Kansas City Wins 27-21
Kansas City wins their first game under new ownership. It was a victory aided by turnovers from the Saints. As Peyton Manning threw four interceptions three of them turned into scores for the Chiefs. The Saints opened scoring on their first drive as Peyton Manning drove the Saints down the field and threw a 6 yard touchdown pass to James Casey. That would be the only score of the first quarter. The Chiefs offense would respond in the second quarter as Vince Young would throw to Pitt alumni Jon Baldwin on a slant that went for 63 yards. The Chiefs would then capitalize off one of the Saints interceptions. Young would pitch out to Jamaal Charles and he would run 37 yards for another Kansas City touchdown. This touchdown made the score 14-7 Chiefs on top. Manning would find Casey yet again this time on a 16 yard pass to tie the game at 14. With the ball before half the Chiefs will manage to set up the field-goal aided by a 50 yard pass interference call. This score would be 17-14 KC at halftime. In the third quarter the Chiefs would hand off the ball Jamaal Charles and he would find the end zone for the second time on a 12 yard run. Sadly this would be his last touchdown run of the year as coach Todd Haley would announce that Jamaal Charles will be put on IR because of the herniated disk in his back. The Chiefs would manage to tack on another field goal before the quarter ended to make the score 27-14 at the end of the third quarter. Nearing the end of the game Manning would find AJ Green for a 12 yard score but it was too little too late for the Saints.
Kansas City Chiefs 27 (2-4)
New Orleans Saints 21 (3-3)
The Law Firm Carries The Patriots To First Win Of The Season The Patriots came into Week 7 looking for their first win of the season. The loss of Wes Welker for the season and the trade rumors surrounding Tom Brady surely didn't help their chances. Brady didn't go anywhere but Benjarvus Green-Ellis definitely showed up in Phoenix. The Law Firm put his stamp on the game early in the 1st quarter with a 48 yard TD run. The Patriots would go on to take a 10-0 lead but the Cardinals weren't going away. Kolb would lead the Cards on a scoring drive with a TD pass to Todd Heap to close it to 10-7 shortly before halftime. The Cards would then strike first in the 2nd half. Kolb would hit his favorite target many times in this game but none were bigger than his 57 yard bomb for a TD giving Arizona a 14-10 lead. The Patriots struck back quickly though. Antwan Barksdale ran a short drag route across the field and Brady found him wide open. Barskdale turned up field, broke some tackles, and took it 85 yards for a TD and the lead. Then on the Patriots next possession, Brady hit newly acquired Mike Jenkins on a hitch route. A missed tackle later, Jenkins was gone for a 42 yard TD pushing the Patriots lead to 24-14. Green-Ellis would then take over in the 4th quarter. He broke away for 57 yard run to make it 31-14. The Cards came back though and a run from Arian Foster would close it to 31-21 with 1:47 remaining. With just a 10 point lead and the Cards having all 3 timeouts, the Patriots opted to run the ball to take time off the clock. Green-Ellis would break through on the very first run though and take 80 yards for the nail in the coffin and a 38-21 lead. Player of the Game: Benjarvus Green-Ellis - Just look at those stats. His 227 yards and 3 TDs leads the Patriots to victory. However, a brief shout out goes to New England's defense for holding Arian Foster to just 47 yards. Upcoming: The Patriots travel to St. Louis to take on the Rams. The Patriots can't afford anymore losses and the Rams are one of the best teams in the NFL this season. Hopefully the rejuvenated Patriots will be ready for a tough fight. Good Game sdid22
Defense leads Jets to Victory..........So Whats New! Player of The Game2 ints, TD The Jets win their 5th game of the season with a thrilling 28-21 decision over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars would strike first on their opening drive, keeping the defense off balanced with a mixture of run and pass plays. The Jags would take a 7-0 lead after one. The second quarter would belong solely to The Jets as the scored 21 unanswered points. including a 63yd int return for a TD by Derelle Revis with:02 seconds remaining to give New York a 21-7 lead at intermission. Jumping straight to the 4th quarter, The Jags would make a dramatic comeback. Scoring midway through the quarter on a tough run by MJD, Jacksonville would find themselves down by just 7 with a little more than 4 minutes remaining in the game. On the very first play on defense Jags MLB Paul Posluszny intercepted Orton's pass and returned it for a score to even it up at 21 with 4 minutes to go. After a td run from rookie Hb Octvious Hardy with less than a minute to go, The Jags had 4 opportunities to make one last stance, but fell short on a fourth down drop from one of the Jacksonville receivers. GG, Wayers!
