All Roar And No BiteVikings sweep Lions with a 27-20 victory.
A huge match-up in the NFC North as the Lions were looking for revenge on the Purple People Eaters after losing a few weeks ago at MOA field. Christian Ponder finally regained some composure in the pocket as he tossed for over 250 yards and 2 touchdowns despite throwing 1 pick. Adrian Peterson rushed for 122 yards on 24 carries and found the end zone twice. Kyle Rudolph and Calvin Dinwiddie caught Ponder's touchdown passes and Dinwiddie's came in the most significant moment. Percy Harvin was injured and Dinwiddie came into the slot as he did for some time last season. The game was tied at 20 and the Lions had no timeouts just before the 2 minute warning. Dinwiddie would run an out and score as the defender gambled for the interception, giving the Vikings the lead for good. Matthew Stafford was injured on the drive before the Vikings took the lead and had to rely on their 1st round rookie draft pick.
The Vikings will travel to Chicago next week in another and even bigger matchup with Da Bears.
More like Carolina 2Tampa struggles again, gets swept by the Panthers What another great day for the Carolina Panthers, as they move their win streak to 7. This is the best the Panthers have started a season since their inception in 1995. Carolina started the day off rough with Cam Newton throwing three first half interceptions. Fortunately, the Panther defense was stellar and only would allow 3 points to come off those turnovers. The Panther defense would allow less than 50 yards rushing. Deangelo Williams gained over 100 yards on the afternoon. The Panthers would reel off 21 straight points to lengthen their lead to 21-3 before the 4th quarter. Tampa Bay would score a late TD to cut it to 21-11, but the Panther defense would force another turnover. Carolina would hold on to win 28-18, and go to 7-0. Being the only undefeated team in the NFC.
Felix "THE CAT" Helps Take Down Giants Dallas 27 Giants 10 There is no other battle in Hard Knocks bigger than the NFC East battle between the Giants and Cowboys. Both teams fight it out twice every season and Dallas took another one away from the Giants while tying the division up. With Michael Turner still out 4 games, the Cowboys still questioned their run game, but Felix Jones showed up this week rushing for over 100yds and another touchdown. During the bye week, Dallas signed former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs to a 1 year deal. His first game in a Cowboys uniform was against the Giants this week. With a chip on his shoulder from the Giants not resigned him, Jacobs ran with a purpose rushing the ball 16 times for 96yds. Ryan Mallet had another stellar game going 9/12 for 200 yds and a touchdown and throwing only his 5th interception of the season. What could of won the game for Dallas is shutting down the Mays/Bradshaw comb. Both runningbacks combined only rushed for 56yds. The Cowboys face a tough Falcons team next week and continue their SEARCH FOR SIX!!!!
Denver Broncos 45 - Atlanta Falcons 24Denver badly needed a win after losing to the Browns on the road last week, and slipping to 2-4 on the season. The game started off well for the Broncos, holding the Falcons on the first drive, and forcing a Matt Ryan interception Atlanta's next possesion. The first play after the interception, Mark Sanchez found Virgil Green on a play action for a 21-yard TD strike to make it 7-0 Broncos in the 1st quarter. But Atlanta answered right back with a 62 yard bomb from Ryan to Beckum for a TD to tie things up at 7-7. On Denver's next possession, they handed the ball off to Knowshon Moreno multiple times, driving down the field, and eventually Moreno punched it in from 10 yards out to make it 14-7 Broncos. The teams exchanged field goals to make it 17-10 at the half.
The second half is where things got funky. On the opening possession, the Falcons drove down the field and DeMarco Murray found the end zone on a 32 yard dash to tie things up again at 17 apiece. After a broncos punt, the Falcons again found the end zone quickly as Matt Ryan found Roddy White on a 13 yard slant to put the Falcons up 24-17 with a minute left in the 3rd. The Broncos answered on their next possession, driving down the field, converting on 3 3rd downs, and Sanchez hit Lloyd on a 27 yard pass for a TD to even things up again. This is where the "funky" stuff starts happening. In the next 5 minutes, Atlanta threw 3 interceptions and Matt Ryan also lost a fumble. The interceptions led to a Moreno TD run and a Sanchez to Green TD pass, and there was still 2 minutes left in the game. On the first play after the next kickoff, Matt Ryan was sacked and fumbled, and it was recovered for a TD by Schwertner. On the Falcons next possession, Matt Ryan tried throwing it deep, but that pass was also picked off and the Broncos just kneeled on it to seal the victory.

Another Big Win for the Chief's This was a game owned by defense and the Kansas City Chiefs newest acquisition Mike Tolbert. Tolbert had 128 yards on 28 carries and 1 TD. The Chiefs managed to keep the ball for 15:39. The game started off quick though with the Colts fumbling the opening kickoff and a defender picks it up and runs it the other way 17 yards to make this score is 7 – 0 Chiefs off to an early lead. The defense for the Chiefs would cause the Colts to punt but on the return Dexter McCluster would fumble and the Colts would take it in for the touchdown to tie the game at seven apiece. The Colts would get a field goal before the end of the first quarter to give themselves a three point lead. In the second quarter the only score would be on a 29 yard run by Cox. The Colts will go in at halftime with a 10 point lead In the second half the Chiefs would manage to score two touchdowns both on very methodical drives. The first drive was capped off on a slant to Jon Baldwin which went for 6 yards. The second score would be on a run by Mike Tolbert of 1 yard. This score was made with just 2:50 on the clock and the Chiefs defense would hold the Colts on their last attempt to take the lead.

Titans Win in Overtime Fashion
Titans 30Ravens 27Defense, is what this game was projected to be. A low scoring defensive game in which the total score probably wasn't expected to be much more than either one of these teams put up. Last season Titans lost in a close game to Ravens while they made that huge push and won the Super Bowl. Times have changed, Titans would find themselves down big as the end of the first quarter hit they were down 17-0. This was not expected at all from this defense. They gave up a huge 77 yard TD run during the first. Coach would gather his team together calm him and his team down as they still had plenty of time. Coach was throwing a fit and had an assistant there to calm him down which gave the team a huge boost once the coach gathered himself. They would get the ball and push to a FG making it 17-3. Defense came up and made a stop getting the ball and the 2 minute warning ticking away. Locker made a huge play hooking up with Britt for a 55 yard TD to make it 17-10 going into halftime. That throw was important to the game, it proved to Ravens we can throw, even the throw before that was a good deep ball to Colston just not a smart throw as he was double covered but no harm was done. Start of the 2nd half was defensive on both sides as there was nothing on the first possession for either team, but Titans would unleash one of the best running backs in the league Chris Johnson and he broke out for a couple of TD's, 29 and 63 yard tds. That would give Titans the lead of 24-17. Mike Wallace would answer shortly capping off a great drive that put the Ravens even. Wallace's catch and run was a good play overall and it couldn't have came at a better time for the Ravens. Set's the scene for a 4th quarter scenario, where the Titans are pushing the ball down the field and in scoring position, easy field goal and a good shot at a TD. Locker would audible a few times, not liking anything he saw, no hot route was going the way he wanted, he drops back has a small window to fit in the middle and lobs it up in the air to be picked off. After the game all he could do was laugh that one off, 'glad we won or else I might not of had a job the rest of the season'. This would set the ravens up for their go ahead FG making it 27-24. Locker would get the ball with a 2 min drill again and he did the job of getting it down the field and setting up an unproven young kicker for a 53 yard FG attempt, he could line it up and knock it through with no problems. Overtime is where this game was going, all squared up the Titans won the toss and got the ball only to be stuffed, the punt was kicked out of bounds at the 10 yard line. Ravens would now have a chance, they get stuffed on a 3 and out. Titans would get the ball right at the 50, fans got up on their feet to help out the defense and it helped when Julius Peppers came ripping through the line on a sack that forced them to later punt the ball. This time the punt got them on their 5 on which they moved the ball a little bit but still couldn't get anything more than 20 yards and a punt. Jake Locker would then lead the team down the field using passes and his feet. We had a 3rd down that we 3 WR's they had 7 secondary members and Locker did the smart thing and used his feet to pick up the first down and move the chains. Chris Johnson took over the rest of the way to set up a 50 yard FG to win the game GG cp0990
