    OAKLAND TRIBUNE
After coming off of a very convincing win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Oakland Raiders hosted the Cleveland Browns at home with a chance to move to 2-0 on the season. After a somewhat lackluster performance by both sides of the ball the Raiders were able to do just that and move into position to seize control of the AFC West. The final score being 38-26 the score could have very easily been the other way around the way the offense for the Raiders turned the ball over. Derek Carr threw a career high 3 interceptions and it could've cost Oakland the game. On top of poor ball security the defense gave up a staggering 355 yards through the air to a group of receivers that may just be the very best in the NFL.

Of course with all of the negative plays that Oakland had, they also did the most important thing. Win the game. Derek Carr shook off the interceptions and found proven receivers Denarius Moore and Rod Streeter for 40 and 37 yard touchdowns. We can't forget key contributors Torrey Smith and Charles Clay who combined for 11 receptions 169 yards but no touchdowns. Another big performance came from Oakland running back Jaquizz Rodgers who topped the century mark for the second straight week, bringing his season total to 220 yards. Another surprise for Oakland is rookie running back Jaylin Joseph who was picked with the Raiders 7th pick in the draft. Joseph found his way into the end zone twice and after the game coach Harris confirmed that the rookie earned himself a spot as the second running back on the depth chart ahead of Lamicheal James.

Takeaway: The Raiders showed some flaws but were able to come away 2-0. Derek Carr needs to play better if they expect to compete for a Super Bowl. The defense was solid, but needs to do better to help support the offense later in the year when defenses around the league are sure to catch up to opposing offenses.

    Bills @ Patriots.

Bills dominate the first half, but the scoreboard reads 14-14 heading back to the locker room. Bills controlled the game throughout the half going on drives of 5, 10, and 5 minutes. EJ Manuel was making all the right reads and throws. The run game was effective and helped the Bills cash in for TDs on the first two drives giving them a 14-0 lead.

The Patriots respond quickly. The Bills sack QB Paris Chapman on first down at the 9 yard line setting up a 2nd and 20. Recent addition Kenyon Barner, catches a screen pass and takes it 91 yards to the house. 14-7 Bills with a little over 5 minutes left in the 2nd.

The Bills start their 3rd drive of the game and drive deep into Patriots territory with less than a minute left. EJ looks for his TE but Devin McCourty jumps the route, intercepts it and takes it to the house. 14-14 at half. The Patriots had the ball twice and ran total 9 plays of offense.

The second half was all Pats. Patriots get the ball and quickly strike for TD. 21-14 Pats

Bills soon have to give the ball back. Patriots drive to the red zone and, on 3rd and 7 from the 12 yard line, Chapman runs the read option and walks into the endzone untouched. 28-14 Pats.

A few turnovers and some big passes later, Pats are up 45-14.

    Player of the game: QB Paris Chapman 10-13 323yds 3TDs 0INTs, 4carries 20yds 1TD

    Broncos defense tames Jaguars offense

Unlike last week, the Broncos defense played to their potential by recording 3 sacks and holding Jacksonville to 3 FGs and 1 INT in the redzone. But the biggest play of the game was made by CB Chris Harris who stopped Rookie WR Gilmore just short of the 1st down on 4th down with less than 1 minute to go with the Jags trailing 24-19.

The opening 5 minutes couldn't have gone better for the Broncos, as sophomore wideout Matthew Acosta took the opening kickoff 49 yards to give his rookie QB Broussard, who entered the game after having a very up and down first game, great field position. Coach Hibbard gave his workhorse running back Montee Ball the ball 5 straight times, with Ball on the sideline for a quick breather Broussard threw his first pass of the game to his TE Julius Thomas for the game's first score. A quick three and out by the newly led Geno Smith offense and the Broncos were back in business. But only two plays later on a toss play to speed back Chris Thompson, safety Jonathan Cyprien destroys Thompson who would cough up the ball on the play giving Jacksonville good field position.

Geno would drive his team down the field but on 3rd and goal rookie CB Taray Ward would make a beautiful read on the play by undercutting the pass for his first interception of his career. Denver's offense would stall for the rest of the half and coach Zcar would take advantage by having his team score 13 unanswered points to close the half.

The 3rd quarter was much better for the Broncos offense as they would score 2 TDs all by Montee Ball, including a nice 21 yard screen pass that Broussard got off just in time. Denver's defense was again strong, holding the Jags to two short FGs. When Denver needed a stop, the defense would bend for them. And with the game on the line on 4th and 3, Chris Harris would make the play of the season so far for the Broncos, by tackling WR Gilmore just inches short of the marker to preserve the victory.

    Stats
    Broncos
    Broussard 7-14 150 yards 2 TDs
    Ball 20 carries 99 yards 2TDs(Rec/Rush)
    Acosta 1 rec 52 yards
    Von 1 SCK
    Taray Ward 1 INT

    Jaguars
    Geno 14-24 198 1 INT
    Charles 21 carries 66 yards 1 TD
    Gilmore 5 rec 75 yards
    Chandler Jones 2 SCKS
    Cyprien 1 FF
    Decoud 1 FF

Key stat of the game: Broncos defense forcing 3 FGs inside the RZ

It was over when... Chris Harris stopped Gilmore on 4th down

GG ZCar352 good luck the rest of the season, looking forward to seeing you build up Geno.
