Oakland Raiders fans everywhere have a lot to smile about lately. The Raiders, after losing a close game at home to the Indianapolis Colts had won two straight against Houston and Atlanta. They have a new addition at running back who has just absolutely caught fire in Harris' west coast offense. Derek Carr is one of the leagues leading passers and everyone on the team seems to be buying in to their head coaches vision of what the Raiders can be. But before we start predicting Super Bowl match ups, Oakland heads into the second half of the season where they will have to play all six of their division games. The Raiders started their division conquest by heading down to division rival Kansas City to square off on Sunday Night Football. Heres how it all played out.

The Raiders would start the game on defense and three plays later they were on defense. That would be the story for the defense pretty much all game. The Raiders stuffed the run, the pass, everything that Tom Brady could muster out of his offense was shut down by Oakland. With Oakland's defense doing their best Steel Curtain impressions the Raiders would come out on offense with a little bit of a new approach. They decided to pound the running game and attempt to wear out the Chiefs, and they did just that. Led by Leveon Bell the Raiders picked up first down after first down allowing Derek Carr to drop back comfortably with either very little pressure or wide open targets downfield. Derek Carr has been throwing a lot of interceptions this season and coach Harris has voiced his concern about Carr's ball security. Well, he got the point. Carr only had one incompletion, threw for 178 yards and one touchdown to Denarious Moore. With only 178 yards in the air the rest of the yards were picked up by a rushing attack that has been attacking defenses the past few weeks. Both Leveon Bell and Jaquizz Rodgers got the majority of the workload leading the Raiders to 218 yards of rushing. Oakland basically dominated the first half going into the locker room up 17-0. The second half was more of the same and then Leveon Bell found the open field....

Oakland would score another rushing touchdown with Bell later in the game and the Chiefs would put together two drives late in the fourth quarter to point some points up on the board and the game would end 31-15. The Chiefs move to 3-4 a
nd they know they need to make a move soon to stay in the division hunt with Oakland and San Diego. The Raiders move to 6-1 and are fighting for a first round bye in the playoffs. They travel to New Orleans next week to take on the Saints.
