Bills defense holds tight while offense finds footing
The Titans defense started out like gangbusters, holding the Bills to only 4 FG's in the first half, despite the fact the Mettenberger threw multiple INT's that resulted in the Bills starting deep in Tennessee territory. However, thanks to being a little more balanced offensively this season, the Bills were able to open things up in 2nd half, with Foles connecting on some deep passes as the Titans keyed on the dual-headed Bills running game.
Tennessee came out fast, intercepting Foles on just his 2nd attempt. They would march straight down field and find Rookie TE Keland Phelps for the 1st TD of his career. The Bills would be unable to answer on their next drive but a terrific punt by FA acquisition BRandon Fields would go out at the 1 yard line. On the ensuing play, Mettenberger would swing a pass to Sankey in the backfield but CB Gilmore would meet him in the endzone, resulting in a safety. 7-2 Titans. The Bills would get two INT's in this quarter, by OLB Harrington and DE Crisp, but would come away with only 2 FG's from them. 8-7 Bills at end of 1st
The Bills would start the 3rd with yet another FG, now making it 11-7 Buffalo. Mettenberger threw his 3rd INT to CB Jennings on the next drive, resulting in YET ANOTHER FG for Buffalo. The Titans would answer with Mettenberger's best drive of the day, including passes of 34 yards to C. Patterson and 16 Yards to KJ Wright. Tennessee would settle for a FG, making it 14-10 Bills going into halftime.
The Titans made the change at halftime to bring in rookie QB Jarrett Bailey in relief of Mettenberger. The rookie would play admirably but it would take him a bit to settle down as he was unable to lead the Titans to a score in the 3rd. The key plays here were a 35 yard TD pass from Foles to Watkins over the middle and Tennessee's new K Stephen Gostkowski would miss a 47 yard FG late in the 3rd leaving us with a score of 21-10 Bills after 3.
The 4th quarter started out with a bang. The Bills faced 3rd & 4 from the TEN 40. Having run in short yardage situations most of the day, the Titans stacked 7 in the box and the safety came up to play the run on the snap. Foles found Decker on a quick slant route that the 71 SPD receiver was able to take 40 yards to the house. With their backs against the wall, Tennessee came out led by Bailey and marched quickly down field with a no huddle offense, finally finding Justin Hunter in the endzone for a 4 yard TD cutting the lead to 17-28. The next bills possession would be another FG making it 31-17 and on the next drive MLB Kiko Alonso intercepted Bailey's pass over the middle. With 4:51 remaining, the Titans stacked the box with 8 men to stop the run. Foles noticed this and audibled Watkins to a streak which he hit for a 60 yard TD with no one even close. That would pretty much ice the game at 38-17. The Titans would attempt a few more times to get down field, with one drive ending in a FG to give our final of 38-20

PANTHERS ROLL WEEK 1
The Panthers outmatched the Patriots in their week one showdown coming away with an impressive 45 – 24 victory. The game started off slow for both teams, the offenses went three and out on consecutive drives then the Pats O began to click midway in the first driving all the way down to the 9 yard line before the Panther defense stiffened up holding them to a field goal. On the ensuing drive the black cats woke up. On a third and one running back Jaquese Clarke took a read option hand off 72 yard down the center of the field. The Panthers would not look back. After the Pats offense fizzled out Cam caught on, dinking and dunking his way to a 21-7 lead at the half that was capped off with a 48 yard strike to Benjamin. In the third quarter both teams got on the board quickly. Blown defensive assignments gave Garoppolo space to work his mojo and if it wasn’t for Cam’s resurgence the pats might have pulled it out. Newton, who had 372 yards through the air on the day, struck gold three times in the second half including a 37 yarder to newly acquired Dennis Johnson and a 43 yarder to All-pro wideout Kelvin Benjamin who quietly had a career day. EAGLES VS 49ERS
Opening day, as the Thunderbirds flew over Lincoln Financial stadium, rookie QB Trigga Tra Guy was seen with tears falling from his face like Mr. Moreno! The tears didn't last long for the Eagles and quickly shifted to tears of the 49ers fans as they watched Colin Kaepernick unravel and toss balls either to Eagles defenders or in the dirt.
The Eagles amassed 7 turnovers and 6 sacks. While Philly struggled mainly due to short yardage T. Guy only passed for 91 yards. The bright spot was hometown hero LeSean McCoy 16 carries for 111 yards.
An efficient 100% redzone coupled with turnovers dictated the 40-7 score.
Raiders Open Season with 45-23 win against Redskins
Raiders coming off a good season last year coming off a championship game loss got back rolling in this new season against the Redskins. Derek Carr who is in a contract year struggled early on with his accuracy, but eventually turned it loose throwing for 276 yards four TDs and no interceptions. What Nicks could not provide last year, newly acquired Brandon Marshall provided with some tough catches in traffic against good defenders finishing with 52 yards in his debut. Rod Streater who more and more looked ike the #1 last season caught 6 balls for 93 yards.
While the Raiders had some offensive success with over 400 yards in total offense, there defense made some key plays to break the game wide open. Although the Redskins were able to move up and down the field, the secondary made plays to prevent scoring opportunities behind DJ Hayden’s two INTs which one was returned for a TD. The D line were able to get to the qb with four sacks and Avril sacking RG3 twice.
Le'veon Bell Leads Steelers in Win Over Baltimore
Steelers jump out to a 17 point lead early on, only to score 8 points in the 2nd half to void off a Baltimore comeback attempt. The Ravens won the turnover battle 2-1 but didn't get their offense rolling until the 2nd half and had to big of a deficit to overcome. At one point in the 2nd, they had the ball down 6 points but were forced to punt and then the Steelers would score late and convert the 2 point conversion to make it a 14 point game. Ravens would fail to convert on 4th down late in the 4th Q to ice it for the Steelers.
Steelers take on Houston in Pittsburgh in Week 2. Should be a great showdown.
The Giants start their season off with a familiar foe and a division rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants started rookie running back J.T. Moon and boy is he gonna be in the doghouse a long time due to putting the ball on the ground 3 times and averaging a measly 2 yards a carry in his debut. The Giants defense would hold Dallas to just 2 field goals and respond with a pair of touchdowns one on the ground thanks to David Wilson and another through the air from Bradford to Beckham. This is a big win to start the season for the G-men and theyll look forward to continue their win streak against last years NFC east division champs. The first 4 games of the season will be a good barometer to see if they can knock off philly from the the top of the division as they will be playing four straight division games twice against the Eggos .
Seventh Round Pick With Something to Prove Shines in Bucs Win
The Bucs were unstoppable in the first half. Second year up and coming receiver, Parham, scored on a 60 yard TD pass when he got behind the defense on a streak. Rookie RB Arrington bounced off a couple of defenders, bounced outside, and showed his breakaway speed as he trotted down the field on 69 yard TD run. The offense was also aided by great defense in the first half. The defense gave the O some great field position which enabled newly acquired kicker, Steven Hauschka, to knock in 2 FGs. The D even scored a TD of their own when MLB Pugh forced a fumble that LE Michael Johnson scooped up and ran back.
Before the Vikings knew what hit them it was 27-0 with less than 5 minutes left in the half. The Vikings, still having plenty of fight left in them, put some quick points up on the board before the first half was up. A made FG and a TD by Kyle Rudolph made it a 10-27 bucs at halftime, but sent the Vikings in to the locker room with the momentum, confidence, and the ball in the third.
The second half started with a big stop by the Bucs. The only problem is that the Vikings D came to play in the second half. The Bucs offense could barely move the ball and QB Bloom threw 3 picks during the 3rd and 4th quarters. The only saving grace is that the Bucs D played very well. The Vikings offense had some gashing plays throughout the 2nd half, but the Bucs, multiple times, eventually forced a punt and only gave up one FG. At 13-27 the game still felt really close because the Vikings were playing very well in that second half. It wasn't until the 4th that the rookie RB put the game safely away as he struck again on another huge play. Arrington caught a screen pass and took it 68 yards for a TD.
Rookie RB Harrison Arrington was asked about his performance after the game: "I feel like I have a lot to prove as a 7th round draft pick. All of these other teams slept on me, so I am grateful for the opportunity that the Bucs have given me. I am going to work my ass of every week for Coach Green and play this entire year with a chip on my shoulder. I am confident that I can play like this every week in the league."
Offensive star: RB Harrison Arrington 13 car, 94 yards 1 TD | 1 rec, 68 yards 1 TD (scored on first NFL carry and first NFL reception)
Defensive star: MLB Keland Pugh 7 tackles, 2 FF, 1 INT
Bears Impress in Season Opener
The Bears started their season an home opener in fashion against the Detroit Lions. Chicago came out on fire as rookie WR Darien Middlebrooks would take the opening kickoff of the season pack to the house. Chicago would not slow down there as they would rack up 47 points on a struggling Detroit defense. 3rd year QB Macon "The Bacon" Stallworth would throw for 254 yards on just 12 completions. Perhaps the most impressive rookie would be Chicago Bear rookie RB Zeke French. Zeke would tote the rock only 19 times an accumulate an impressive 131 yards an 1 TD. Equally impressive, Chicago's rookie WR Darren Elliot would rack up 115 yards on 3 catches 2 of them being touchdowns. The Defense was led veteran Lamarr Houston who would lead the way in sacks for the game with 2. The Bears look to continue their winning ways as they travel to New Orleans for a rematch of last years NFC Divisional playoff game.
We were excited about using 4 new starters on defense, which include DT Vince Wilford and 3 rookies. We traded up to the #2 pick to get DE Ronald Jackson, but then dropped down to #12 and we still got him. Although Jackson has average development, our trade with Baltimore was a great move, getting their top 3 picks next year. But the star rookie was our 2nd round pick TJ Jenkins, a 3-4 OLB who we've moved to MLB. While he did look a little slow, he came up big, intercepting a pass inside the 10 and breaking up the tying 2-point conversion. Another rookie we took was HB Lacy Glass -> a power runner in the 5th round, but the only thing we really like about him is his 85 pass block skill. He's our 3rd down back, and certainly is a different type of back than last year's Darren Sproles.
San Diego put themselves in a big hole early, but Indianapolis's conservative offense only made it a 13-0 game. SD's first 4 drives resulted in 2 three and outs, and 2 INTs, including a pick 6. San Diego would go on to put together 450+ yards of offense, but couldn't quite get back into it as Jenkins made a big INT in the red zone. The Colts punted with under 20 seconds left, giving San DIego the ball with no timeouts on their own 41 down by 8 points. But this time, they connected on a deep ball against our prevent defense, somehow...lol. The 2 point conversion was a short pass up the middle and Jenkins was able to break it up. A fun game, and San Diego proved to be the stronger team after the first 8 minutes, but some key turnovers were killers.
Indi knew they needed a week 1 home win to keep the team's confidence above 0, and we're now on our way to surpassing last year's win total. We travel to Arizona week 2, then play Jax, who beat us twice last year, at home week 3. Lots of indoor games makes me happy.
Good game Ace847

Rams win a hard fought battle in Nashville 23-14
The teams trade punts and then trade field goals to make it 3-3 after 1.
The teams once again trade punts and the Titans pin the Rams on their own one. Geno Smith would go play action out of a heavy set and Jared Cook would slip behind the defender to catch a long pass, gaining 97 yards before the safety is finally able to knock him out of bounds. BJ Daniels would take a QB keeper in from there to make it 10-3. The Titans would hit a 59 yard FG to bring the score to 10-6 going into the break.
The Titans would punt to start the second half, but after a sack on first and a fumble on second, Tennessee was in business. Three plays later a FG would narrow the lead to just a point at 10-9. After two more sacks, the rams would punt into the wind giving the Titans excellent field position once more. Three plays later another FG would make it 12-10 Tennessee. After trading punts, the Rams would be pinned at their own one for the second time. After a run on first down Geno Smith would go PA on second but would get crushed for a safety making it 14-10 Titans going into the 4th.
The teams would trade punts again and the titans would get a big 27 yard run by Sankey to spark a drive, except that on the next play, Sankey was hammered by Ogletree popping the ball loose, Janoris Jenkins would pounce on it and before you know it, he would pop up to his feet and race 54 yards for a TD to give his team a 17-14 lead. Needing to get some momentum, the Titans would go three and out. The Rams would convert a couple of key third downs to set up a 59 yard FG to make it 20-14 with three and a half minutes left. The Titans would go four plays and turn it over on downs just after the 2 minute warning. Playing it conservative, the rams would simply run the ball three times and kick another FG to extend the lead to 23-14. A few plays later, super rookie TE Keland Phelps would make a grab, but SS TJ McDonald would lay the wood on him forcing a fumble right into the hands of Alec Ogletree. It was just a couple of knees from there.
Both defenses played very well with the Titans holding the Rams to just 275 yards of offense and the rams limiting the Titans to just 203 yards
The Titans converted just 1 of 13 third down tries
Both HBs had nice days considering the tough D, Stacy got 88 yards and Sankey gained 86, but both backs lost a fumble as well
EAGLES STORM INTO NJ
On the road in hostile territory the Eagles staff were expecting a very tough game after the dismissal of the Giants in the wild card round in last years playoffs. After 2 disconnects we finally got the game in and the GMen had a rough start with Sam Bradford missing on some big passes. A few of those passes were so far off Philadelphia defensemen where sitting in position to take advantage of the bad passes.
Picked off 3 times coupled with 2 fumbles and a ruptured disc for star WR Odell Beckham really set the tone for the game. Rookie QB T. Guy played a very efficient game in front of the stingy NY defense. Dipping and dunking 16/17 171 yards on the day. LeSean McCoy was slowed all game before breaking a 44 yard run for a TD to further ice the game. Good game I'm sure I'll get Madden'd in two weeks for the rematch.
PLAYER OF THE GAME - RB LeSean McCoy 23 carries 124 yards 3 TDs, 5 catches 68 yards
Raiders Shut Out Dolphins 34-0
The Raiders coming off a week 1 win, but had some issues on the defensive side wanted to play better on that side of the football and was focused on stopping the dolphins this week. With the focus on defense, that is what the Raiders did not giving up a touchdown, holding Lamar Miller to -2 yards rushing and allowing only 220 yards on offense. The defensive line also put the pressure on sacking the QB seven times in total of which three came from Avril and another two came from Pittman. The pressure got the qb forcing some throws which led to also three INTs as well. DJ Hayden picked off another two balls and Delmas had one.
On the offensive side, Derek Carr managed the game well throwing for two TDs with only one pick. The Raider offense relied on the running of Murray rushing for 125 yards with a TD score.
Raiders go into next week against division rival Chargers.
SD edged out Den at home 34-20
Second year Adam Riley had the game of his career tossing 3 Td's and no int's and completing 75% of his passes!
Osweiler on the other side threw 3 picks and would be replaced by newly acquired mike glennon who played efficiently until he threw a pick at the end of the game.
Denver completely shut down sd's run game so the chargers turned to their many weapons in the receiving core including their rookie te who got his first catch of the year resulting in a 30 yard td.
The game would come down to a fourth quarter drive after the chargers nailed a 53 yarder to go up 7. The broncos were driving well and were looking to tie the ball game when sd's first round pick SS isikeli Phillip stepped on front of a very inaccurate pass and took it the distance.
See you again in two weeks!
Also, sent you the highlights on Xbox if you want to watch. And anyone else interested can see them under my clips. Not gonna upload and do commentary anymore because it's too time consuming (however, if I beat the chiefs, raiders, or win a playoff game I may have to shake off the commentary cobwebs and put one out).
Ravens and Bengals with another late game decision
Cincy came into Baltimore and put an offensive show on. 520 total yards and 27 total first downs in the game. In the end it was turnovers and critical ravens offense to win the game. After being down 24-14 at half the ravens outscored the Bengals 21-7 to win 35-31. The ravens scored a TD late in the 4th quarter to take the lead with a Morgan Carter third down conversion from the 4. Andyman33 charged and for the ball to the five yard line with 15 seconds left and a 4th down. The ball was incomplete in the end zone. What an incredible game again Andy always a pleasure.
Steelers Move to 2-0
Steelers hold Houston to 1 TD and a few FGs as they force three turnovers en route to a 31-16 victory. It was just 2 minutes into the game when Antonio Brown broke off a 77 yard TD catch seen here:
Houston would answer with a rush from Ingram from inside the 5. At 7-7, this would be a defensive battle for much of the first half. Then the Steelers QB Xavior Alexander took over, throwing for 3 more TDs and over 350 yards to improve the Steelers to 2-0 and onto Minnesota in Week 3. GG kcstlmang
Week 2 -- Vikings @ Browns
JFF started to get the Cleveland offense back on track in week two and Cleveland held off the Vikings to move to 1-1. The Vikings had toruble getting in the grove and Cleveland rode the back of their 6'3" and 6'6" bookend WRS to victory. GG KelchSWagger
Stat of the game: 9 total turnovers by both teams. Ugly.
It was over when: Manziel hit Josh Gordon for his 3rd TD of the game on a fly route in the back of the endzone in the 4th quarter to make the score 31-10.
Player of the Game: Josh Gordon - 6 rec, 125 yards, 3 TDs -- Helps having 6'6" JJ fredrick on the other side of the field.
Vikings hold off Steelers 27-10

Both defenses were playing great untill A.Ellington Busted a 59 yrd run to put Min. up 10 to 3, Min Defense held off Pit Offense and Min drove down and Bridgewater threw a 11 yrd pass to TE Kyle Rudolph to make the score 17-3, With 30 secs left till half L.Bell scores on a 2 yrd run giving the Steelers some life going into half with Min 17-10 over Pit.

Torrey Smith made a big impact on his deput game for the Vikings racking up 4 catches for 99 yrds and TE K.Rudolph had 5 catches 61 yrds and 2 TDs Vikings Oline played a great game not allowing Bridgewater to go down with any sacks The Vikings took a big stride in the game getting there 1st win of the season vs the 2-0 Steelers
Great Game nellycuz
The Texans secure a win at home
The 0-2 49ers would come to Texas to face the 1-1 Texans. The Texans defense would carry them in this game as the 49ers offense would struggle to pass the ball effectively. Tony Romo would throw 7/26 for 63 yards and 4 interceptions, three of which were to the player of the game Brian Cushing. The 49ers run game looked good statistically but having to abandon the run due to being down. The bright spot for the 49ers was the play of young QB who would throw 5-10 67 yards and a TD with a run of 10 yards as well. The Texans would move the ball effectively on the ground for a change and rack up 223 yards behind Mark Ingram and CJ Anderson. The turn over differential would be the deciding factor in this game as the 49ers would turn it over 5 times to the Texans 1. The Texans defense would come away with 8 sacks 4 INT 3 FF on the way to a 50-17 win.
Player of the game: Brian Cushing 6 TAK 3 INT 1 FR

BEARS HOLD ON AT HOME
Bears came into this game knowing that would have to slow down McCoy to have any chance to come out with a W. Although they didn't slow him down completely they believe they did enough to have to put the games in Philadelphias Rookie QB. The Bears D would force Traivon Guy into 3 picks including a crucial one right after Macon Stallworth had thrown a pick of his own. Chicanos RB was led again by Rookie running back Zeke French who would run for 107 yards on 25 carries. The Bears defense was led my 2nd year player Lavecheya Sam who would record a team high 7 tackles. Chicago looks to continue their winning ways as they face NFC North Rival Minnesota Vikings.
Cowboys beat the Falcons at home 31-16
Dallas was coming off a tough loss to the Giants and need to win this one is they had any chance of having a good season. The falcons held on for a while but, Dallas pulled away in the end.
The Cowboys defense played a really good game holding the Falcons to 210 yards and getting 10 sacks. Henry Melton was a beast getting 5 of those sacks.
QB Brett Hudson had a solid game going 18-26 for 295 yards and 2 TD's.
Good game JFace907
Dallas wins at home against the Cardinals 37-3
The Cowboys defense continues to play very well coming off a win against the Falcons. They seemed to be everywhere all game and made it very tough for the Cardinals to get much going on offense. They held the Cardinals to 108 yards of offense and -4 yards rushing.
The offense did their part too with 377 yards. They did a good job of having a nice balanced attack.
Even though he threw a couple to bad int's in the first half Brett Hudson got it together and ended up with a solid game. He went 17-27 for 243 yards and 2 td's.
Good game whoozy11
