Colorado Gets 1st Bowl Victory Since 2004
    [IMG]

Colorado went bowling for the first time since 2007 and got their first bowl victory in nearly a decade. The Buffaloes had a tough task in front of them as they got matched up against the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Sun Bowl. Virginia Tech had a disappointing season, but in terms of talent, they were one of the better teams that CU faced this season. And given CU's results against those teams, it certainly seemed like a tall order to expect the Buffs to leave El Paso, TX victorious. But they did just that in a game that they nearly controlled from start to finish. Colorado got the ball first and went down the field for a TD on that possession. After that, it looked like the Hokies had come to play as they were able to move the ball quickly and started to shut down the Buffs. CU rebounded though and would go on a 21-7 run and end up leading at the half 28-24. Colorado came back out in dominant form and pushed their lead to 42-24 in the 3rd quarter. From there, VT had no chance as they were nowhere near as explosive as they were in the 1st quarter and CU would hold on for a 42-30 victory.

Player of the Game: RB Malcolm Creer - Creer reached 1000 rushing yards on the season and totaled 188 in just this game with 2 TDs. His ability to make big runs in this game kept VT off the field and led to CU points.
