I got tired of doing report cards, so if anyone wants to pick up the slack feel free.

In the meantime, the Pro/Rel update is coming soon.......

    PROMOTION/RELEGATION UPDATE #1
    As of 2.13.12

    SERIE A

The title race is heated as ever, but one familiar face is missing. Newly promoted side Udinese (31, 16) have taken over the top spot with an impressive season thus far. Werder Bremen (23, 13) recent run of form has vaulted them into 2nd place with games in hand enough to take first. Sao Paulo (22, 11) too can make the leap with the right results, while Spartak Moscow (16, 8) still lurk mid-table.

At the other end of the table, the usual suspects are fighting for their Serie A lives. SC Braga (6, 12) have had a horrid campaign, and occupy 12th place in the standings. Just 3 points above them sit Blackburn (9, 12) and Ajax (9, 11). Three teams are at 11 points, including Everton (11, 11), Fulham (11, 10) and surprisingly Aston Villa (11, 9). The Villains shouldn't be worried yet, as we've seen top teams have an off-season before and survive (Bremen, PSV).

    SERIE B

Another season, another crowded promotion battle in Serie B. Wolverhampton (29, 12) are leading the pack right now, with FC Koln (28, 14) and Santos FC (22, 14) occupying the promotion playoff spots. Rubin Kazan (20, 10), and Newcastle (18, 13) are once again on the outside looking in, but have plenty of time to slip into a playoff spot. Down at the bottom of the table, it looks like a 3-team race to stay up. Olympiakos (6,6) have games in hand to move up, but a lack of games played could spell doom for the Greeks. That leaves Stoke City (6, 11) and Palermo (3, 9) in the drop zone right now. Having already played each other twice (a Stoke win and a draw), the two sides will have to prove their mettle by getting results against teams above their pay rolls.

    SERIE C

It's a 3-team race for promotion in Serie C, with some of the best clubs Serie C have ever seen. After a mediocre debut season, Celtic (31, 13) have screamed up the table and into 1st place. Not far behind are high-scoring Montpellier (30, 13), who have put up a 3.46 GF/G ratio. Fiorentina (26, 11) are the polar opposite of their French counterparts, letting in 0.45 GA/G. Galatasaray (22, 11) have made a marked improvement as well, but there are only two spots to be had.

    IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY:

    CHAMPIONS: Udinese

    PROMOTION TO A: Wolverhampton
PROMOTION PLAYOFF: FC Koln vs Santos
PRO/REL PLAYOFF: Ajax vs Koln/Santos winner

    PROMOTION/RELEGATION UPDATE #2
    As of 2.20.12

    SERIE A

Both Udinese (32 pts, 18 GP) and PSV Eindhoven (31, 18) have pulled away from the pack in the Serie A title race. Sao Paulo (22, 12) and Spartak Moscow (17, 9) have the games in hand to join the hunt, but will need to do so quickly with only one week remaining in the season. At the bottom, Ajax (16, 14) have done well to pull themselves out of the mire, leaving behind a 4-team relegation race. Corinthians (15, 10) are level on points with Aston Villa (15, 12), but it would be the English club that would be subject to the pro/rel playoff in the shocker of the season. While Fulham (12, 13) maintain a 5 point gap over bottom-dwellers SC Braga (7, 15), both teams would be relegated come season's end.

    SERIE B

FC Koln (31, 16) have taken over the only automatic promotion place from 2nd place Wolverhampton (30, 13). Rubin Kazan (24, 13) have slid into 3rd, looking for a glorious return to the top flight. The Russians will have to hold off three teams in the chase for 3rd, however, with Santos FC (23, 16) Newcastle (22, 16) and Olympiakos (21, 12) charging hard. Stoke City (10, 15) and Palermo (8, 14) are almost assured a drop, but Palermo's recent run of form could see them finish 9th for the first time in team history.

    SERIE C

Four teams vying for 2 automatic promotion places in Serie C makes for an interesting campaign. High-flying Montpellier (36, 15) and their 58 (58!) goals are level at the top with polar opposite Fiorentina (36, 15) and their 9 (9!) goals allowed. Celtic (33, 15) have fallen 3 points off the pace, while Galatasaray (25, 12) are not far behind with games in hand. The last week of the season will be vital to these teams' promotion chances.

    IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY

    CHAMPIONS: Udinese

    PROMOTION TO A: FC Koln
PROMOTION PLAYOFFS: Aston Villa vs Wolverhampton/Rubin Kazan winner

    PROMOTION/RELEGATION UPDATE #3
    As of 2.22.12

    SERIE A

PSV Eindhoven (34 Pts,19 GP) cling to the top spot in Serie A, but multiple teams have the games in hand to overtake the Dutch side. 2nd-place Udinese (32, 18) need only a win in their next match to take over, while Sao Paulo (22, 12) and Spartak Moscow (20, 11) are only halfway through their seasons. Aston Villa (25, 18), once threatened with a pro/rel playoff spot, have climbed to 4th after a string of wins, leaving Ajax (16, 16) in the 10th place spot. An outgoing manager at Fulham (12, 13) has left the team in shambles, currently in the drop zone along with strugglers SC Braga (9, 17).

    SERIE B

FC Koln (31, 16) remain in the top spot, but Wolverhampton (30, 13) look poised to regain the automatic promotion berth. Olympiakos (24, 13) have jumped ahead of Rubin Kazan (24, 13) for 3rd place, while Santos FC (23, 16) and Newcastle (22, 16) look set for another season in the second flight. No changes at the bottom, as Stoke City (10, 15) and Palermo (8, 14) are virtually assured the drop.

    SERIE C

With the departure of a Serie A team, the fight for two places has now become a fight for three. Montpellier (39, 16), Fiorentina (36, 15) and Celtic (33, 15) must avoid any slip ups in the last few games of the season. Galatasaray (26, 14) could swoop into 3rd with the right results. It is sure to be an interesting race in the 3rd tier.

    IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY

    CHAMPIONS: PSV Eindhoven

    PROMOTION TO A: FC Koln
PROMOTION PLAYOFFS: Ajax vs Wolverhampton/Olympiakos loser

PROMOTION TO B: Montpellier, Fiorentina, Celtic

    PROMOTION/RELEGATION UPDATE #4
    As of 2.27.12

    SERIE A
Just 1 point separates the top two teams in the top flight. Udinese (35 PTS, 20 GP) and PSV Eindhoven (34, 20) will battle it out now, but Sao Paulo (29, 15) and Spartak Moscow (27, 14) are still lurking. At the bottom, unless something drastic happens, it looks like we have our three relegation candidates. Fulham (16, 17) and Ajax (16, 17) will jockey for 10th place, while SC Braga (12, 18) are a virtual lock for the automatic drop that comes with last place.

    SERIE B
Wolverhampton (40, 17) have clinched the automatic promotion berth with a game to play. FC Koln (34, 17) are second, followed by Rubin Kazan (28, 15). Newcastle (28 PTS) came up just short this season once again, while Olympiakos (24, 14) can still make a promotion push with a good run of form. No changes at the bottom, where Stoke City (10, 17) and Palermo (8, 15) face the drop.

    SERIE C
It's merely a formality now in Serie C, as all three teams have clinched promotion. The title will be decided by 2nd-place Fiorentina (40, 17), who must register a single point in their final match to overtake Montpellier (40 PTS). Celtic (39, 17) need a win and a Fiorentina draw or loss to leapfrog both teams and take the title to Scotland. However it finishes, all three teams will be making the jump to Serie B. Galatasaray (29, 15) came close, but will surely be favorites for promotion next season.

    IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY
    CHAMPIONS: Udinese

    PROMOTION TO A: Wolverhampton (clinched)
PROMOTION PLAYOFFS: Fulham* vs FC Koln/Rubin Kazan winner
PROMOTION TO B: Montpellier, Fiorentina, Celtic (all clinched)

RELEGATION TO B: Ajax, SC Braga

    PROMOTION/RELEGATION UPDATE #5
    As of 2.28.12

    SERIE A
PSV Eindoven (37 PTS) have overtaken Udinese (35 PTS, 20 GP) for the top spot, but it seems their reign will not be long. Spartak Moscow (30, 15) and Sao Paulo (29, 15) are still climbing up the table as they continue to make up postponed matches. Blackburn (20, 19) better be careful, as both Fulham (16, 17) and Ajax (16, 19) are still jockeying for position in the 10th spot with enough games in hand to take 9th. SC Braga (12, 18) need a lot of points to climb up from the bottom.

    SERIE B
Wolverhampton (40 PTS) have clinched automatic promotion by virtue of their first Serie championship. FC Koln (34, 17) sit comfortably in 2nd, while Rubin Kazan (28, 15) need 5 points out of their next 3 matches to ensure Olympiakos (24, 15) won't catch up. At the bottom, Palermo (11, 16) has leap-frogged Stoke City (10, 17), closing the gap on 8th place Hamburger SV (15, 17).

    SERIE C
Fiorentina (40, 17) must win their last match of the season in order to claim the Serie C crown. That result would see them jump Celtic (42 PTS) and Montpellier (40 PTS) in the standings, though all three teams have already clinched a spot in Serie B next season.

    PROMOTION/RELEGATION UPDATE #6
    As of 3.2.12

    SERIE A
Another jump has been made in the leap-frog game that is the Serie A title race. Udinese (38 PTS, 21 GP) are once again leading the pack, overtaking PSV Eindhoven (37 PTS) for the top spot. Sao Paulo (35, 18) and Spartak Moscow (33, 16) are poised to make the next moves. Things have gotten murky at the bottom of the table, where Ajax (16, 21) have picked the wrong time to get cold. The Dutch club has clinched a bottom-3 place, but will rely on the other relegation battlers to determine their fate. Blackburn (20, 19) are safe for now, but will need positive results in their next 3 matches to assure a place at the top next season. Fulham (16, 17) are in 10th, while SC Braga (12, 18) can see a very (very) dim light at the end of the tunnel if they manage to win their next 4 matches.

    SERIE B
The top of the table is set, with Wolverhampton (40 PTS, 17 GP) having already clinched the Serie B title, FC Koln (34, 17) and Rubin Kazan (31, 17) in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The more interesting race is going on at the bottom of the table, where Palermo (14, 17) have found their form to climb up from the bottom. A result in their final match against nothing-to-play-for and Coppa-concerned Wolves would be enough to reach safety, overtaking Hamburger SV (15 PTS) in the process. Stoke City (10, 17) have clinched a relegation spot.

    SERIE C
Status quo at the top of Serie C, where Fiorentina are patiently awaiting their final opponent to arrive. Their match against Genoa (3, 12) will decide the Serie C title.
