1Defending national champions who are looking for a repeat. A near perfect season last year led to an easy National Championship game against overrated foe USF. Their one blemish on the season by Baylor can be avenged in the last week of this season, but they have to get through a tough conference schedule with Kentucky and LSU at home. ========================================================================2The Big Ten champs are ready to prove they are worthy of a BCS Championship. A late loss last year cost them valuable points in the polls, but a preseason #3 rank has them setup in great shape if they can run the table. A tough OOC game against Florida is a notable game early in the schedule, however dates with Penn State, Iowa and Ohio State will make or break this squad. ========================================================================3The Penn State Nittany Lions must feel pretty great about their preseason rank at #2, and they should.. Their second half of the season was an exciting one to watch which almost catapulted them into the big one. If Penn State can adjust from the minor mistakes last year that led to two losses, they will be a tough team to beat in 2013.========================================================================4What can you say about this Blue Squad? If you had told me that the Wildcats would have the SEC East crown 2 out of the last 3 years, I would have called you insane. Determination could help punch a ticket to the Sugar Bowl this year, but if the team really is in a rebuilding mode, those fireworks from the last 3 years could turn into tears this season. ========================================================================5The two-time National Champs struggled this season with their head coach not being able to be on the sidelines towards the end of the season. A 9-4 record is the worst one in years and they will be looking to jump back into power in the Big Ten this season as long as their coach can return.========================================================================6Baylor representing the Big XII South. The weather forecasters predicted hell would freeze over in 2012, but I didn't believe it. A flukey ending to Texas' season allowed Baylor to sneak into the game at Jerry World, and the Bears made a statement with a win over the Blackshirts. The Bears were left out of the title game however based on how the Alphabet was formed. Has Baylor's luck ran out or are they the real deal?========================================================================7Two conference losses last year were tough to manage for the Bayou Kittens, but the Tigers showed huge improvement from a year before where they were handed 5 losses on the season. The Tigers have two must win games against Florida and at Alabama if they want their end of the year finale against Ohio State have any national title implications. ========================================================================8Trey Burton will need to find a way to make himself a household name this season to help the Gators contend. A heavy schedule pins the Gators in a tough spot with games at home against Miami and Michigan, while hitting the road to face Kentucky, LSU and Nebraska. If Florida can survive the gauntlet, they deserve to be the National Champs. ========================================================================9Smash mouth power running is the name of the game and Iowa is traditionally great at it. Expect Junior Running Back Marcus Coker to have his name on the ballot come Heisman voting if Iowa can carry over their momentum from last season. Conference foes Ohio State and Michigan have had Iowa's number for a while, so it will be time to turn it up a notch for the Hawkeyes to be dancing in the Parade of Roses. ========================================================================10Just short of that coveted Fiesta Bowl bid two years in a row has really got to burn a hole in the GBR Coach's stomach. A regular season rematch of last year's Big XII Title game needs to be circled on Nebraska's calendar, however they better not look past a reformed Missouri Tigers squad if they want to keep the Victory Bell in Lincoln.========================================================================11New coach, same traditions. The Aggies will need alot of help from the 12th Man this season if they wish to have a shot at the Big XII South Title. A weaker than average Wrecking Crew places the team at a long shot to win the South, however having games at home against Baylor and Texas could help the Aggies blow up the standings.========================================================================12A new coach to the conference and to the league. You gotta start from the ground up to become a headliner instead of a bottom feeder. Bob got a small taste of his team last year in a Bowl game loss to Washington State and will need to find what works well early on if he wants to make a name for the Tigers. First year starter Tyler Gabbert has his cannon loaded, as long as he can find a target that will hold on to the ball.
