Sterlin Freeman Leads Rams Past VikingsRams move to 7-0 After 21-10 Win Minneapolis, Minnesota RECAP: This game was dubbed as the GOTW and the Rams sure knew they would be in for a battle. The Rams would start with the ball and would end up scoring on their first drive, as Bradford found rookie WR Mintlow for a 4 yard score. The Vikings would respond on their ensuing drive as once again the Rams defense gave up 3 straight 3rd down conversions, including a 3rd and 23, leading to a Vikings TD as Ponder was able to find Brandon Tate for a 7 yard score. 7-7 at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. The Rams would respond immediately as Sterlin Freeman was able to find a hole and took it the distance on the very first play of the next drive, as his 80 yard TD gave the Rams the 14-7 lead. That would be all the scoring in the 1st half as both defenses came up with key turnovers to end the half. First, the Vikings were able to stop the Rams on a 1st and goal from the 1 yard line, before a holding penalty pushed them back 10 yards. Then, on 3rd down, 2nd year man Storm Foreman was able to step infront of a Bradford pass and after swatting it down, was able to use his incredible hand-eye coordination to catch the ball and make sure the Rams came away with no points. Then, as the Vikings were driving Ponder took a shot deep down the right side but SS Pat Chung was able to come up with a timely INT, as the Rams would run out the clock and head to the locker room with a 14-7 lead. The Vikings were able to add a FG in the 3rd quarter before the Rams would strike 3 seconds into the 4th as Bradford hit Vincent Jackson for a 11 yard score to give the Rams the 21-10 lead. That would be all the scoring in this one as both defenses held up until the end, limiting any real chance of scoring for either team after this point. Player Stats:Minnesota Vikings: QB Christian Ponder: 12/24, 231 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.HB Chris Ivory: 10 carries, 32 yards.WR Jaden Thomas: 3 catches, 72 yards.DT Terrance Knighton: 5 tackles St. Louis Rams: QB Sam Bradford: 9/12, 149 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INTHB Sterlin Freeman: 26 carries, 209 yards, 1 TDTE Jacob Tamme: 4 catches, 51 yardsSS Pat Chung: 5 tackles, 1 INT Looking Ahead: The Rams head back home as they welcome the Arizona Cardinals to the Edward Jones Dome for a key division match-up. With the Cardinals heavily favored this week against the Texans they should be coming into this game with a 5-1 record, meaning that this game will be the most important to date this season for the Rams if they are to end up as division champions. The Rams know that the first meeting will mean nothing next week; especially since Shaquelle Marshall is expected to be the starting QB for this one.
There's No Place like Home Coming home after four straight away games the Chiefs looked to end their two game losing streak. The scoring started late in the first quarter with a run of 1 yard from Jamaal Charles to put the Chiefs out to an early lead. In this second quarter, the Dolphins would answer back. Drew Brees would find Reggie Wayne on a bomb that went, for 51 yards to tie the game at 7. Both teams would get a field goal before the end of the second quarter to make this score at halftime 10-10. In the third quarter, Jay Cutler would find star receiver Dwayne Bowe to put the Chiefs back in the lead 17-10. Miami would pick up the first points of the fourth quarter with a field goal. Kansas City defense would later sack Drew Brees in the end zone for a safety to make the score 19-13. With only 1:24 seconds left in the game Drew Brees would find Steve Smith for a 47 yard touchdown to give it the Dolphins a two-point lead. Jay Cutler did not want to see the Chiefs lose again, so he would lead the offense down the field and set up a Ryan Succop 44 yard field-goal to win the game.

Jags Defense Plays Great, Beat Colts 30-6
The Jaguar's defense forced rookie quarterback Anthony Anderson to throw 3 interceptions and returned two of them for touchdowns as the Jags cruised to a 30-6 win. "We wanted to come out on defense and set the tone for the game after giving up 38 points to the Texans last week and we did that today", Coach Wayers said after the game. "We have a good football team down here in Jacksonville, we just have to prove it on a weekly basis", Wayers said. The Jags would get on the board first with a 24 yard field goal. On the next series for the Colts, Derek Cox intercepted a pass 42 yards for a touchdown. That would set the tone for the rest of the game. In the third quarter, MJD would break a 67 yard touchdown run to the seal the game. Up next for the Jags are the 4-1 Bengals.
Denver Broncos 23 - Washington Redskins 20
The Broncos were on the road again this week, and a victory would give them 3 in a row and keep them near the top of the AFC West. It did not look good for the Broncos early as the Redskins would capitalize on early turnovers and score the first 14 points of the game, both TD passes from former Bronco QB Mark Sanchez. After the Broncos went down, they caught a couple breaks, Knowshon Moreno looked to be bottled up, but he broke through the line and burst 71 yards for a TD to make it 14-7 Redskins after 1. There would be no scoring in the 2nd quarter, as again the Broncos caught a break. Boone threw a pick nearing halftime, but the Redskins would not be able to get any points due to poor clock management, and that would prove to be costly.
The 3rd quarter saw only a FG by the Redskins, so the Broncos were down 17-7 heading into the 4th quarter. The Redskins pinned the Broncos deep on a punt, and a few plays later, Knowshon Moreno would put the ball on the ground and the Redskins would recover. The play was challenged by Denver, but would be upheld, giving the Redskins the ball on the Broncos 5 yard line. Washington would try to run the ball 3 straight times, but were stuffed on a ll 3 and had to settle for a FG to make it 20-7 with 7:12 left in the game. The stop would prove to be huge for Denver. On their next possession, the Broncos would go to a no huddle offense and drive to midfield, then they threw one deep to Brandon Lloyd in single coverage, he would beat the safety on the play and make the grab in the endzone, but a stutter by Matt Prater on the extra point would force him to miss and the Broncos trailed 20-13. The next drive for the Redskins, the Broncos would give up a first down, btu then stop the run in the backfield, forcing the Redskins to try and throw one. The pass was intercepted by rookie Asaad Harris and returned into Redskin territory. The broncos would get down to the Redskins 4 yard line before a run by Moreno was stuffed, but they tried again and Moreno would plow his way over a defender into the endzone to tie the game up 20-20 with 2:41 left in the game. Both teams would punt again, taking little time off the clock, so the Redskins tried to throw their way into FG range, but Barrett Ruud would step in front of a post and pick it off leaving the Broncos in Redskins territory. After a pass completion and a spike, the Broncos found themselves on the Redskins 28 yard line and tried to center it with Moreno to get a better look. After the timeout to stop the clock with 5 seconds left, Matt Prater drilled the 42 yard FG with 1 second left to win the game for the Broncos.

TURNOVERS KEY TO JET SUCCESS....... Player of the Game Wilson lead the Jets defense with 4 ints
The New York Jets win their second divisional contest in as many weeks as they top the much improved Buffalo Bills at home 35-25. The defensive unit for the Jets set the tone early, particularly second year starter CB Kyle Wilson. Wilson would hound Bills WR's all game long and make Eli Manning pay as he intercepted 4 passes and returned 1 for a score. The Jets would find the endzone first in the game and would never look back as they never trailed throughout the contest. At one point in the game, the Jets would have a 25 point lead, but the Bills would make a game of it as Eli came alive and found WR's that had difficulty getting open early in the game. The Bills would get within 10, but a late int returned for a td by SS Jim Leohard would end Bills chance at a comback.
