Jaguars Special Teams Prove To Be Too Much For Seattle
Seattle, WA - Newly acquired Devin Hester got immediate playing time for Jacksonville in the return game and made an immediate impact. In a defensive game, Hester's 1st punt return put the Jags in FG position which they would need to take a 3-0 lead. Later, when up 6-3, Hester would return a Seattle punt for an explosive TD for a 13-3 lead. Jacksonville would push the lead to 20-3 behind a TD pass from Jordan Mapa to Justin Blackmon.
Then the Seahawks started to get their act together. The Seahawks would close the game up to 20-13, but on the ensuing kickoff, RB DeRay Ray would take it all the way for another special teams TD to make it 27-13. The Seahawks would not get discouraged though. They would claw their way back and end up tying the game at 27-27 with about 30 seconds remaining in the game. The Jaguars would try to do something in the final seconds but were unsuccessful.
In OT, the Seahawks would win the coin toss and elect to receive. However, early in their possession, new QB Alex Smith would force a pass right at MLB Paul Posluszny. Poz would intercept the pass and return it a few yards to put the Jags in deep FG position. A few plays later, new kicker Alex Henery would knock in a 42 yarder for a 30-27 Jags victory.

Rookie QB Leads Titans to First Win
Shortly after being named starter for the Tennessee Titans, QB James Carroll went straight to work and spent all night in the film room. Coach said that he is a hard worker who showed better talent and a better player than QB Shawn Catlin or Miles Quagleri. Carroll is a 6'2 216 pounds that was the 6th pick of the draft. He shows great control on short throws and has a great deep ball, not the strongest arm but gets it done. He struggles with mid throws but with some confidence he could lead the Titans to some wins and hopefully the playoffs. He will be looking for RB Chris Johnson to help him out as well.

    13 - 14
In the season and NFC East opener for the Giants , they traveled to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. The game was a defensive struggle that was ultimately decided by the Eagles offense. After cutting the Philly lead to 14-13 with 3:20 to play in the game, the Giants turned to their defense to make a stop and get the ball back with a chance to win the game. After 2 good plays from the defense the Eagles faced a 3rd and 5 with 2:20 left in the game. But on 3rd down the Eagles motioned their HB out of the backfield which caused just enough confusion in the Giants coverage allowing the Eagles to convert the first down. Without any time outs at this point the Eagles ran down the clock and earned the 1 point win.
