Foster steals show as Bears break Lions
    Chicago 38 Detroit 17
    [IMG]
All the talk around Chicago leading into the Week 1 season opener at home against the Detroit Lions was Tom Brady making his first start out of a Patriots uniform. Obviously, that was the headline for a reason. Brady is perhaps the greatest Quarterback to ever play the game of football and was making the first start of his career on a team other than New England. Not much spotlight was shined on his new backfield partner, another new piece to the now high-powered Bears offense.
Arian Foster was traded to the Chicago Bears earlier this off-season for a 1st round pick. Coming from the Cardinals, Foster had a disappointing stay in Arizona after signing a relatively big free agent contract 2 years ago. Last season Foster ran for under 800 yards, failing for the first time in his career as a full-time starter to amass 1,000 yards rushing. Foster came into the fold due to contract negotiations between the Bears and star HB Matt Forte souring, and many focused on Brady and the passing offense this off-season. Foster came out and showed that he too was a factor this season, rushing for 188 yards and 4 touchdowns on 30 attempts as the Chicago Bears new offense looked in mid-season form.
The defense and Brady played their part, but the real story was Foster. Looks like this offense won't miss a beat without Forte.

Jaguars Earn First Win of Season over Pats, 24-3
    Untitled.png
After a long off season, the Jaguars came out of the gates fired up to get this new season started in New England against the Patriots. After ending last season with then starting quarterback Dennis Dixon, Coach Wayers went with Blaine Gabbert. "He showed a lot of improvement during the offseason and I felt he gave us the best chance to win", Coach Wayers said. Blaine Gabbert had one of the most efficient games of his career against the Pats, going 13 of 17 for 213 yards and no touchdowns and no picks. "I worked really hard this off season studying tape, going through drills, and working on my release and I think it paid off today", Gabbert said. The Jags would start off the scoring in the second quarter with a 1 yard touchdown run by Maurice Jones-Drew. Soon in the second quarter Nick Folk would kick a 23 field yards, the Patriots would answer with a field goal of their own on the next drive. The biggest play in this game would be a muffed punt by the Patriots and Jaguars Tyson Hagler would pick up the ball and return it for a touchdown. "That was a big play for us, it really put all the momentum in our favor. The Patriots are a very good and well coached team so I was surprised to see the fumble", Coach Wayers said. MJD would punch in another TD in the 4th quarter to put the game away for the Jags. Up next for the Jags is their division rival and AFC South Champions Tennessee Titans.

New Look Falcons Steamroll 9ers in Opener

Falcon's RB Rashard Mendenhall proved why he was one of the highest paid free agents in the offseason by putting up 212 yards rushing and scoring twice in the blowout.

    DA MANNING
New Falcon Peyton Manning made a successful debut after struggling to find a home in recent seasons. After the New Orleans Saints utterly failed at adapting Manning to their offensive scheme, it seems as if maybe Peyton has finally found a place to prosper in his twilight seasons. He finished the game throwing for 154 yards on 11 of 15 attempts. He threw 3 TDs and 1 INT to Patrick Willis.
Falcons (1-0) face the New England Patriots in week 2 in their home opener.

Vikings Win Battle But Lose War
Despite losing Adrian Peterson for 5 weeks, Minnesota defeats Green Bay 14-13.
A bit of a revamped defense makes a big impact in Week 1 for the Minnesota Vikings. Making moves such as trading picks for the #8 selection of the HK Draft in round 1 paid off. Larry Keooudom brings talent and youth. We also signed Terrance Knighton to tighten up the defensive line which helped with the run game. We have been focusing on the offensive side of the ball but we patched up the secondary pretty which has made our defense solid. We brought 2 lineman which should make for one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.
The Vikings were ready to rock and roll. Things started out rocky for us though as we fell to a 6-0 deficit. Then things got even worse for us as we lost Adrian Peterson yet again with a broken collarbone. Chris Ivory would be called upon again though and was able to answer. He scored to put us up 7-6. Aaron Rodgers would then be picked off by Prince Justice who hadn't recorded a single interception all last year. Christian Ponder would return the favor however. That set up great field position for the Packers who would toss one up to the rookie Markese Jessie. The Vikings would be able to stop the Packers in the second half completely and scored the only points as Chris Ivory punched another one in. He blew Morgan Burnett up as he tried to make a tackle to prevent the TD. Mason Crosby would get a chance to put the Pack up 16-14 but he shanked to the left.
Chris Ivory's 1st touchdown after AP going down.
Prince Justice picks off Aaron Rodgers.
Rookie Markese Jessie gets his 1st NFL TD.
Morgan Burnett gets his ass ran the fuck over.

    Oakland 35- Indianapolis 25
Raiders out to a 1-0 start
    [IMG]
Darren McFadden leads the way as he would rush for 126 yds and 2 TD's on 19 carries, but the defense would do most of the work forcing 5 turnovers on the way to victory. The Raiders would jump out to a 17-3 lead before things fell apart right before the half as the colts would score 17 pts in the final 1:32 to take a 20-17 lead into the break. The 3rd quarter wasnt much better as the colts would force a safety and kick a fieldgoal to take a 25-17 lead into the 4th. The Raiders would get a fieldgoal early in the 4th to cut the lead to 5 then after a defensive stop The Raiders would take the lead on a D-Mac 2 yd TD run(2pt convert as well) 28-25 with a 1:58 left. Then on the first play after the kick off, Free agent acquisition DJ Williams would get a sack, force a fumble that was picked up by Lamar Houston who would rumble 10 yds for the TD and put the game out of reach.

Titans win on a late TD 27-24
Denver, Co- The game was set kickoff was ready on a windy day Titans would receive the ball first. On the first drive of the game they would work it down the field and get it in the redzone where they ran into an early problem that would change the game around, not finishing the drive from the redzone. Titans were able to push the ball down the field but held to a FG going up early on a 3-0 lead. Broncos would get the ball and continue where they left the Titans at in the AFC Championship round by working the ball right down the field converting huge punishing 3rd downs and having it capped of by a D. Thomas TD reception from the new QB Jaxon Boone. Titans would then get the ball back and go 3 and out shortly after Jaxon Boone would throw 1 of his 3 int's on the day this one by the Rookie MLB Antione Buice and would set up a 9 yard TD run from Chris Johnson. Broncos Kicker Matt Prater would end the scoring at half with a FG making it all tied up at 10 each. The Titans would get ball with a few seconds left trying to create a hole for Johnson but nothing was opening up.
2nd half Denver would get the ball first, they would continue their great drives going down and putting up a 22 yard TD pass to Royal. On the Titans first play from scrimmage they ran a TE Screen to Jared Cook Jr and he would get a block, break a tackle then take off down the sidelines. "We never intended for the play to work as it did but it was a great time to throw it I guess". Denver QB Jaxon Boone would drop back and throw his 2nd pick to MLB Russel Allen this would set up another mishap from the Titans red zone offense as they would get stopped inside the 5 again setting up another FG making it 20-17 Titan lead. Broncos would work the ball down the field yet again and with just over 2 minutes to go in the game HB Moreno would cap in a TD giving the Broncos a 24-20 lead. Titans would have to run a 2 minute offensive drill to win the game. Locker would very quickly be tested as he needed to cap a 3rd and long right off the bat to show he was ready. He hooked up with Nate Washington over the middle to pick up the first down. He would find WR Jerrel Jefferson on a post route and throw a perfect throw and Jefferson took it 61 yards down to the 21. Titans would but the ball in the hands of their superstar Chris Johnson he would milk the clock and cap off a 5 yard TD run ending the end zone blues. Broncos would have a chance to tie or even go for the win as QB Jaxon Boone would drop back and look deep over the middle only to find FS Michael Griffin to end the game.
