Carder gets debut win on the road in rainy Seattle
Under new head coach Zac Carder the Houston Texans traveled to Seattle to take on the Seahawks in the first game of the 2015 Season. Houston won the toss and elected to receive and one of the newest members on the Texans Christian Ponder got his first opportunity to impress the coaches against a stout Seattle defense. Ponders spotlight was quickly cast aside as Arian Foster took over the first drive just running through the defense but once down inside the 20 on 3rd down Ponder would be picked off inside the 5 and end what was a great opening drive. Now it was Seattle's turn and they did the exact same thing marched it all the way down the field only to throw 90 yard pick 6 to Jonathan Joseph who after scoring get tackled by Russell Wilson and break his Jaw and will miss the next 6 Weeks, 7-0 Texans end of 1.

The 2nd quarter was a defense struggle as Ponder threw his 2nd pick of the game but the biggest play of the game happened after a great punt by Seattle pinned Houston deep inside the 5 and after a few runs they were out to the 9 yard line faced with a 3rd and 1. Arian Foster decided to take it 91 yards to the house for a touchdown giving Houston a 14-0 lead midway through the 2nd. Seattle was able to respond by kicking a field goal as time expired in the half to go into the locker room down 14-3.
After the half both defenses were playing lights out as they shut down both offenses and Ponder threw his 3rd pick of the game but it didn't hurt to much as on the very next play Brian Cushing recovered a fumble. On that drive Houston's offense gained some life and got the ball moving down the field and got down in Seahawks territory but after two short runs found themselves in a 3rd and long situation and with the way the corners were playing for Seattle the offensive coordinator called for a HB screen. It was set up beautifully as everyone picked up there blocks and Arian scooted down the field for the touchdown to make it 21-3 heading to the 4th.

The 4th quarter was a wild one as we fast forward to the 2 minute warning Seattle is on the doorstep of the Texans endzone and 3 plays later punch it in with little over a minute to go to make it 21-10. Then Seattle recovers the onside kick while 4-5 Texans just stood over the ball and watched it:mad:. On the first play Russell Wilson hit his man Denzel Brown on a seam route and scored to make it 21-17. Unfortunately for Seattle the onside kick magic didn't happen again but they still had 3 timeouts. Arian Foster was tired of playing in the rain and didn't want to have to sit on the sideline and watch his team lose so he made an amazing effort on 2nd down as it looked like he was stopped and down he somehow stayed up right and got the first down and after some kneel downs the game was over.
