35 - 14 The Giants were looking to rebound from last weeks loss and they were looking for their offense to be more productive. After spotting the Chiefs a quick 14-0 lead the Giants settled in a began taking control of the game. The Giants turned to their run game to set the tone as they rushed for 181 yards and wore down Kansas City. With the support of the run game Eli had a very productive game as he was 13 of 19 for 230 yards and 4 Tds. On the ground Jamario Ward showed he could be the type back to pound it between the tackles as he rushed for 111 yards on 21 carries. But the big key to the game was the Giants 72% 3rd down rate which kept several drives alive.
Rams - 27
In a game where the Rams couldn't get much going through the air, new Ram Ahmad Bradshaw had a really good game going for 111 yards and two scores on the ground. The Titans' corners locked up the Rams WR's most of the game playing great man coverage. The Rams secondary was left searching for options with Kenny Britt being simply a monster and almost uncoverable at times. The Rams zone defense was torched twice for TD's by Britt. This was an extremely close game and its clear that the Titans will be making a lot of noise in the AFC south.
The Redskins came into San Francisco without their coach and I am guessing that hurt them in this one as RG3 didn't have anyone there to guide him through his 3 picks. It was the Niners defense that kept them in it in this game, intercepting RG3 3 times to change his name to RG3-INT, and holding the Redskins to 3 FG's. After the Skins went up 3-0, the Niners would tie it up on a Vayo FG to make it 3-3, and shortly after that they would pick off RG3 to setup a Kaepernick to Davis touchdown pass to put the Niners up for good. In the 2nd half, after being stuffed on the ground for most of the day, LaMichael James finally broke a big one, breaking a tackle in the hole then bursting past everyone else for a 75 yard TD to put the Niners up 17-6 and holding on for the 17-9 final.
