Titans Remain Undefeated Winning 23-10 on the RoadTitans came into the game knowing these linebackers were top notch and that throwing would have to be the big key to the game. The coaching staff was shuffling ideas of what to do. We wanted the ball in CJ's hands but at the same time we knew he wasn't going to be as effective. Coaches came out in these game with the ball in Lockers hands. He distributed the ball to a total of 7 different WR's and TE's hooking up with WR Kenny Britt the most 7 times for 70 yards. When asked after the game he replied 'Britt was open a lot, everyone seemed concerned about everyone but him. They were looking elsewhere in coverage and I was finding him' Stats gave DE William Hayes a pass for 7 yards, not sure where this came about but Ayers had a reception for 7 yards as well. Stat's men were a little tipsy I guess but we will give those stats to Locker, Locker went 15/20 180 yards passing with 1 td and 1 int. Also fumbled the ball early in the game but he shook that off and continued on his path. Chris Johnson would get the majority of the carries from the 3 headed back. He got 22 carries for 96 yards. The touchdown was from HB Akiee Moore while he went 4 carries 29 yards a TD and hurt for the rest of the game on the 4th carry. Javon Ringer would carry 2 times 5 yards and then an out of no where back Rookie JaWaun Berry got 3 carries for 34 yards. Could the be a 4 headed backfield? Doubtful says coach. Defensively Mingley, Buice and McCarthy would lead the team in tackles with 6,4,4 respectively. Titans would notch up a field goal with a minute left in the game to go up 23-10 to ensure that the 49ers couldn't strike fast and try to either win or tie game. 49ers would work the ball down the field very fast as they did all game but as the whole game went, this defense went bend, don't break style. Mingley picked it off around the 20 to secure the game.
Titans continue down the path of undefeated, coach says he isn't thinking about it much yet. Just playing every game one game at a time. Next week Titans will travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals. This is an interesting match up. Titans are starting see new faces, anyone will be able to win these next few games.
Chargers Squeak Out Win Over Chiefs
San Diego traveled to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in a pivotal AFC West matchup. Despite the teams disappointing starts to the season, the game didnt disappoint.
For the first three quarters of the game it was greatly a defensive struggle and both teams fighting tooth-and-nail for everything they got. A Jordan Todman (12 car, 40 yards, 1 TD) 6 yard TD scamper and a couple of Jay Cutler interceptions (12 of 26, 233 yards, 4 INTs) were all the action the two offenses could muster in the first quarter. The second was filled with much of the same as both team traded field goals and the Chargers went into half time up 10-3.
San Diego would again add a field goal in the 3rd quarter as defense continued to prevail on both sides. At the end of the 3rd quarter San Diego would lead 13-3. In the 4th quarter things started clicking for the Chiefs though as they would add an early 30 yard scamper from HB Jamaal Charles (14 car, 63 yards, 1 TD) and a 1 yard TD run from HB Beanie Wells (9 car, 20 yards, 1 TD) to put the Chiefs up 17-13. With 4 minutes left in the game and reeling, San Diego went on the offensive. Needing something or someone to spark their offense the Chargers prayers were answered. On a first and 10 from their own 13 QB Philip Rivers (13 of 17, 230 yards, 1 TD) found WR Jerome Simpson (3 rec, 121 yards, 1 TD) across the middle of the field. After a quick cut he was gone, taking the pass 87 yards to the house and putting the Chargers up 20-17. After the Chiefs next drive would stall, San Diego would add a FG to make it 23-17. With just over a minute left in the game and no time outs, Cutler would take the Chiefs all the way down inside the Chargers 30. Two plays later MLB Jo-Lann Dunbar (1 tck, 1 INT), who was in for the injured BJ Hall, would seal the win for the Chargers as he intercepted Cutler at the 15.
It took turnover free football from the Chargers and opportunistic defense, but they were able to get the job done and improve their record to 3-5.
Up next for the Chargers is a bye week followed by a visit from the Philadelphia Eagles. This is a must win game for the Chargers if they have any chance of keeping their playoff hopes alive.
San Diego Chargers - 23
Kansas City Chiefs - 17

The Rivalry ContinuesBears 38 Vikings 24 In another spectacularly close game between these two NFC North powers, the Chicago Bears came out on top thanks to Tom Brady's golden arm...and a little bit of luck. Steve Smith had the best game of his career, catching 5 passes for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns and Jaquizz Rodgers filled the gap left by Arian Foster in the Bears offense, pacing the run game with 22 rushes for 92 yards and a 4th quarter touchdown. The Vikings offense kept the team in the game, with Christian Ponder throwing for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns. His critical interception in the 4th however really derailed all the momentum for Minnesota, and the Bears took advantage. Perhaps the biggest play of the game, however, was on a kickoff. With the Bears up 14 in the 4th with 3:30 left, backup safety GERALD SENSABAUGH crushed Percy Harvin, who subsequently fumbled and it was returned for a touchdown by David Vobora. The Vikings would go and score again but it was too late, and the Bears ran out the clock for the W. This win keeps the Bears in the NFC North race (BEARly) behind just 1 game on the Vikings with still half the season to be played. Should be a helluva race! Great Game Again controllerabuser was very fun as always.
