it is a good thing we came out strong, on the first drive because my speedy #1 receiver goes out of the game with bruised ribs and if that wasnt bad enough, in the second quarter my star running back goes out for the game and leaves the star of this team, randall, out their all by himself and he absolutly took over the game, you can see the stats. this boise state team has a good qb that can make things happen with his feet. it just doesn't show on the stats because of all the sacks, which were game changers and why we were able to get them off the field. we are looking forward to this coming up week which will be our first big SEC test in the florida gators

    Tide Upsets Gators

"It promised to be a classic and it didnt disappoint". That was the sentiment coming from the Alabama locker room after a classic showdown between #8 Florida and #11 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. In a game of big plays on both sides of the ball, Bama was fortunate to come out with a big win to put them 2-0 in SEC play.

The first quarter was all Bama as they scored twice, once on a Ben Hunter (24 car, 225 yards, 3 TDs) 50 yard touchdown run and a 7 yard pass from Isiah Ellison (12 of 23, 170 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs) to Malcolm Faciane (3 rec, 66 yards, 1 TD). The Bama defense held Florida to two three-and-outs in the quarter, as it ended at 14-0.

The second quarter would begin with the Gators on the hunt. After a 19 yard touch down scamper from HB Jason Johnson, the Gator defense picked off Isiah Ellison and turned it into 3 points. Content on letting the clock run and going into half time up 14-10 the Tide attempted to run the clock out. After a first down carry the Gators would call timeout in an attempt to get the ball back with time left on the clock. The Bama offense would then take to the air marching 80 yards down the field and capping the drive off with a 12 yard touchdown from Ellison to Eric Stevenson (3 rec, 33 yards, 1 TD) with only 24 seconds left in the half.

The second half started off with a defense struggle. Ellison would throw two picks in the quarter; one ending in a Gator FG, the other returned 25 yards for a score. Even after a failed two point conversion, the momentum seemed to be swinging to Florida. Heisman hopeful Ben Hunter would answer the call quickly for Alabama. After a bad kick return set up the Tide at the 19 yard line, Hunter took the next play 81 yards to the house and regained momentum for the Tide.

From there the Tide never looked back. After a sack fumble got returned for a touchdown on Florida's next drive, Alabama went after the clock. Florida would add another score on their next drive but a 21 yard Hunter touchdown run late in the 4th sealed the win for the Tide.

Next up for the tide is Big East foe, UConn, which promises to be another stiff test for the Tide.

This was a hell of a game. In the beginning I thought it was going to be a blowout getting down 14-0 with absolutely no momentum on the offensive side of the ball.

Trading punches back and forth. The TD at the end of the half really hurt me.

The 81 yard rush at the end of the 3rd just took some heart out of me as well. I will give my gator team credit though, we fought til the end. We had the ball in the 4th down 2 scores but we couldnt get it done.

Looking forward to our next matchup.

Colorado Prevails in Tale of 2 Halves

Colorado picked up right where they left off from the USC game...horribly! Nothing was going right and Arizona pressured Monty Allen on every play getting numerous sacks. Meanwhile, the Buffs defense couldn't get the Wildcats off the field. They were driving down the field on nearly every possession. CU managed to get one big play in though to make it 24-7 at the half.

Then everything changed in the 2nd half. Either Arizona's players have horrible conditioning or the altitude greatly affected them because CU's wide receivers started getting wide open on pretty much every play. Allen was just picking them apart and coming away with huge TD passes. The Buffs defense also started performing well allowing no points in the 2nd half. Colorado's 2nd half domination brought from down 17 points to winning 35-31.

Player of the Game: Monty Allen - He torched the Wildcat's defense for 542 yards and 5 TDs. A huge performance for the True Freshman.

Upcoming: The Buffaloes hit the road and go out to Stanford to face the #8 ranked Cardinal. It will be another tough game but the Buffs will do what they can.
