good game to florida. both teams seemed to be determined to stop the run and both teams did a good job of it which put the pressure on the qb's, we cant speak for florida but our qb stepped up big time making huge throws down the field when the opportunities were given. those big plays were pretty much the ball game. bye week for us coming up so we will rest up and try to finish the season strong.

    #4 Oregon downs #21 California
    34-14

Behind a balanced offense and a stout defensive the Ducks shut down a Cal team who had an upset on their minds early. CAL jumped out to a 7-3 lead before Oregon took the 10-7 halftime lead on a touchdown pass of 15 yard from Carlson to Henderson with 14 seconds left. The 2nd half was all Oregon as the Ducks made adjustments to stop the short passing game of CAL along with the Bear running back who broke tackles left and right and rushed for over 80 yards in the 1st half!
Oregon leading 10-7 took 5:31 seconds on long drive to take the 17-7 lead with just over 1 minute left in the 3rd Q. After a sack and a 3 and out forced by the defense, the Ducks had the ball back but had to settle for a FG of 46 yards by Garcia to make it 20-7 with 6:21 left to play!
Cal was faced with a 3rd and 28 and basically threw a ball up for grabs as pressure was in his face and low and behold, he caught the ball in double coverage!! On the very next play Bigelow ran it in from 26 yards to bring the Bears to within 6 with 3:42 to play.
Oregon took another long drive and scored with 39 seconds left to make it 34-14. On CAL's next possesion, Page forced a throw into zone coverage and Johnson jumped the route and took it back 42 yards to seal the win with just 9 seconds left on the clock!
#4 Oregon moves to (5-0) and will host #1 USC next week, who are also (5-0) and are coming off a 31-7 win at Arizona State.

    Tide Roll in Tuscaloosa
    [IMG]
"I'm proud of our guys. We controlled the game from the opening kickoff" said Coach Fransisco after the game. The Tide truly did roll in this one as they defeated UConn 44-14 in route to their 4th straight victory.
The Tide capped off their opening drive, an eight play 74 yard drive with a four yard pass from Isiah Ellison (15 of 24, 270 yards, 4 TDs) to Ben Hunter (25 car, 137 yards, 3 rec, 31 yards, 2 TDs). From there they never looked back. Wide receiver Adam Kennedy (5 rec, 112 yards, 2 car, 14 yards, 1 TD) continued his solid play with a 55 yard reception off a drag route that he took to the house for a touchdown.
The Alabama defense was relentless, holding the Huskies to negative yards rushing. They were putting pressure on UConn QB Michael Nebrich all day, finishing the game with 9 sacks and forcing 2 interceptions.
Alabama continues to play solid after dropping an early game against Oregon. Up next the Tide take their first SEC road trip as they travel to Ole Miss.

    Cardinal Top Buffs 31 - 7
Coaches Mosley and Hal were old rivals in the Big10 before moving to their Pac 12 Schools and had met 3 times before in the Big10 Championship. Mosley, coaching Northwestern at that time, had never won a game vs Hal before but the tables were turned this year as Mosley was heading a more talented team.
Stanford had last week off to prepare and try to rebound from their loss against Oregon, and they looked to make a statement against Colorado. Stanford took the lead early off a 69 Yard rush from Remound Wright in the first play of the game, only taking 13 Seconds in the game. Wright, trying to get back in the Heisman race, ran 23 times for 207 yards and 4 Touchdowns. The Cardinal bullied the Buffaloes on the ground running average of 7.78 yards per carry. Ben Wilson on threw 10 times - finishing with 8 completions for 92 yards - but Wright and the Defense was all that was needed to win this one.
Sophomore RE Mike Bean had a career day with 5 tackles and 3 sacks and Anthony Hayes was right behind him sacking the Colorado QB twice. The Defense accounted for 6 sacks total and only allowed 47 Net rushing yards and 96 yards threw the air. The only turnover of the game came from Kelvin Sutton who picked off Steve Dorman in the 3rd.

The Buffs were completely outmatched in this game. The offense had about 20 total yards in the 1st half as Stanford pulled away easily. Coach HAL made the call during halftime to put in senior QB Stevie Dorman and junior RB Justin Fritz for the 2nd half hoping for a spark. It was successful to a degree but it wasn't nearly enough to make it a game. The team is improving but we're nowhere near being ready to face top 10 teams like USC and Stanford. It's a miracle that we're still ranked, to be honest, but we'll do what we can to hold onto that.
