Every time Galatasaray expressed some might, Parma had an answer... especially in the 2nd half when the visiting Italians seemed like a new team, pressing the attack and dictating tempo.
The rallying cry for the managers will end up being central defense, as each of the matches' 4 goals came from breakdowns by center backs missing tackles or being out of position.

A pretty one-sided game that could have had a higher scoreline.
Galatasaray's offense will seem to be impressive with a cursory glance at the stat sheet, but its manager was most pleased with its defensive slide tackling. Pin-point precision across the field frustrated the home side for much of the match. Bilbao's first shot on target came in stoppage time of the 2nd half. Milan Baros found the net for the first time this season via penalty kick and he found his brace just 10 minutes later.

fair point... Feels like at least 5 of the 11 whistles came in the game's last 10 minutes when the outcome was not in doubt. I couldn't even get a chance to sub one of my guys out in that stretch!

Ulreich saved my bacon in the second half. you had two chances that made me pucker - including one that he tipped onto the post. Damn, I need to find a scoring touch!! Good game, buddy!

VfL Wolfsburg Holds On For First Victory

It was a beautiful defensive match between Bolton and VfL Wolfsburg as both sides were focused when the ball made it deep into the offensive side of the pitch. Both clubs were very precise in their defense near the goal as there were no corners given the entire match. Bolton had a chance to tie late into match but the ball bounced off the top bar from a thundering strike as VfL Wolfburg fans held their breath and exhaled with relief. For manager Austin Grimes (LasVegasFC) this was his first victory in his debut season in the TFS and looked to be pleased with his clubs play throughout. VfL Wolfsburg can hang their head a little higher now that they have their first victory of the season and can mentally move past the heartbreaking 1-0 defeat they suffered against FC Kobenhavn at the start of the campaign. There's no doubt that Bolton will have their eyes on VfL Wolfsburg when their rematch nears later in the season for some revenge.

Flamengo's first ever game in Serie C was one to remember as wins weren't exactly easy to come by in Serie B. Forced to adjust to his teams abilities, Flamengo played a quick paced counter attack style that really didn't bear fruit at first against Athletic's heavy pressured attack in Flamengo's defensive third as the match went to the half 0-0. But Flamengo added a bit more offensive ability through substitutions and began to pass around the aggressive Athletic players first paying off with a goal by Ronaldinho, then by substitute Deivid in extra time. GG Danwin, look forward to our next match. Closer than the score.

Great game between Frenchie1916 and I. It was back and forth battle all the way. Llorente's goal in 3' is the quickest goal I've ever scored in Series C. Wish I could have put up a highlight video but can't download videos from EA now. The download button is gone. Great game Frenchie!

Llorente is just a beast in the box for set pieces and crosses in. My guys were just useless against him and we lucked out on a couple of misses than just skipped around the post. You got some fun talent on that team dude, best of luck.

Not to be too much of a stickler, but Ibisevic had both of my assists. He's slow and he's Bosnian (and ugly as sin) [IMG] but he distributes the ball well.

Great game, danwin. I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. I really thought I had that sumbitch marked perfectly in the box at the start, but he nailed that thing clean.

Flamengo faced Parma in it's first road contest of Season 5. The Brazilian clubs play in its first two games was very different from its showing against Athletic versus that of LA Galaxy, and it proved to show its new Serie C brother n who the real Slim Shady was (even though they hate Shady, but a story for another day). The first half was all Flamengo, scoring 3 goals in the first 23 minutes of play. Parma's quick strike attack and on the ball aggression by their midfield really played into Flamengo's hands. But then something happened in the 2nd half as the Flamengo manager pulled his two speedy wingers in favor of a possesion style game to kill the clock in the 2nd half. But after an anger outburst but Santacroce and Johnathan that found them in the referee's book Parma, really caught fire. Giovinco was able to unlock the Flamengo counter attack and put the pressure on leading to a couple of late goals and almost 2 more if it weren't for the man of the match performance put in by Flamengo keeper Felipe.
Flamengo learned something in this game; do not make Ronaldinho your target man. Holy shit was he terrible in the second half missing the next at least four times after being left wide open. The man knows how to move the ball and he knows how to grow out his hair, but modern dentistry and scoring really is not his thing. Good luck Drunken Soldier, great 2nd half, look forward to playing again.

West Ham Scores Early But Wolfsburg Strikes Back
    [IMG]
West Ham United got off to an early start with a quick goal in the the sixth minute but could not hold off VfL Wolfsburg as the club was able to score two goals back to back to take the lead in the first half of the match and hold on for the victory. Both clubs were furious with tackles as they totaled 58 of them between the two. Amazingly with all the tackles there were only 2 fouls and no cards issued throughout the match which showed that both sided played a gentlemen's match and respected each other on the pitch. There is no doubt that West Ham United will be ready for VfL Wolfsburg the next time they face off as tensions started to mount in the second half when West Ham were trying to equalize and come away with a draw. Interestingly enough, the cameras caught both managers from the clubs sharing a some words with each other as they walked off the pitch and into the tunnel. Rumors are already flying what could have been said between the two and fans of both clubs eagerly await their next match.

the match between Bling_CO and I dropped in injury time in the second half; we decided to report a draw as that would have been the likely result. We were both kicked from the servers so there was no chance to get all of the stats, just goal scorers and assist men for this one, sorry.
