Well, after going almost 3 full seasons without a loss the Louisville Cardinals lost last years Title game to Arizona State.

Just a few games into this season they lost the second game in coach HipHopp's career; to ASU again.

The Cards were frustrated from the start. The offense made many mistakes and could not get anything going early. The defense didn't do them any favors allowing ASU to sustain drive after drive, milking the clock and sustaining their lead. With the early deficit and a complete lack of time of possession the previous strength of this team, their ground game, was basically thrown out.

The only help the defense gave was to keep it close and prevent huge gains. The score was 17-7 with less than 3 minutes remaining in the game. Louisville used all three timeouts and forced ASU to kick a field goal to make it 20-7. Louisville would make a late push, flinging the ball down the field to make the score 20-14. A lucky bounce would give them the ball back on the onside attempt.
Less than 2 minutes remained with Louisville driving down the field. Unfortunately a few dropped passes and a failed late scramble killed the comeback attempt.

    21-14 ASU

    Hey H22APWRD94

I would like to make a request, and I think cmassey13 agrees. Can we not get matched up again next season? Unfortunately he and I have met up in two of the last three NC games. We are also both in the Chompions dynasty and have met up multiple times there recently.

I would like to play someone else from the Pac12 next season if at all possible.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I just did a quick inter-conference matchup, going with matchups according to the way the teams finished in conference. PAC12 #1 vs BE #1, and so on. That made you and ASU a matchup, myself and USC, Oregon and ISU, Syracuse and Cal, and Stanford got the bye because he was new and Radio was not going to be back.

So far the record is 1-1, and a tie goes to the highest finishing BCS team at the end of the season. The winning conference will earn one extra scholarship for either this season or next.

Makes sense. However, if he and I are both #1 in our conferences next year, I would like to switch it up a bit please. I've never played Juice and only played Donk once.

well you can go ahead and schedule me and Louisville for next season. I have to play ASU anywhere seeing as how we are both from the PAC-12 South so I would love to see both of the last National Championship contenders at any given time.....

On a side note, I think I should just request all non-conference Top 25 CPU opponents next season since I seem to do better in games I shouldn't win. I just upset #22 Northwestern after getting waxed by Toledo last week, and last season I lost to Wyoming in the opener and beat a Top 10 Virginia Tech squad a few weeks later lol

Now, if I could just take care of business against some mediocre competition in the Big East Eastern Division I might have a shot to get stomped by Louisville in the Big East Championship ;)

    Syracuse Bounces Back
    Upsets 22nd Ranked Northwestern

Junior HB Mario Washington rushed for over 100 yards for the 3rd straight game and the Orange defense recovered from a lackluster performance in the 1st Half to blank Northwestern's high octane spread attack in the final 2 quarters to lift Syracuse to another upset win over a Top 25 opponent. One week after getting blown out by another spread offense at Toledo, the Orange had a tough time stopping the Wildcats in the 1st Half but made the most of their opportunities. Northwestern looked headed for a quick score on their opening possession before Syracuse CB Jim Anderson picked off an option pitch and returned it 54 yards for the game's first score. However, the Wildcats were undeterred and had little opposition taking a 17-7 lead before Washington scored his 1st touchdown of the day to cut the deficit to 3 near the end of the half.
The Syracuse defense must have made some good adjustments during Halftime, because Northwestern was unable to even make it into FG range the rest of the way. With just over 4 minutes remaining in the final period, Washington scored what would be the game-winning TD when he bust out on a 38 yard scamper to give the Orange a 21-17 lead. After another defensive stop, freshman QB Todd Parsons hit WR Brian Wright on a play-action pass for a 62 yard TD with about 2 minutes left to put the nail in the coffin.
Next, Syracuse opens up Big East play at the Houston Cougars.
    Northwestern
QB Gary Brown - 20/27, 251 YDS, TD, 13 RUSH, 8 YDS, TD
TE Jack Schwaba - 5 REC, 62 YDS, TD
MLB Justin Jones - 5 TKLS
    Syracuse
QB Todd Parsons - 10/20, 190 YDS, TD
HB Mario Washington - 22 RUSH, 137 YDS, 2 TD
WR Brian Wright - 3 REC, 79 YDS, TD
MLB Allan Mcrae - 8 TKLS, 2 SKS
