1. Spartak Moscow looks to be the real deal. 6 games in and Spartak have collected 16 of a possible 18 points; only dropping 2 against the reigning champions Werder Bremen. The attack has showed up when needed, scoring 9 goals, but it is their defense that has them atop the table at this stage as they have yet to allow a goal this season. Only two managers have won Serie A before (@shiftee Broncos218) can Friz add his name to that list? 2. League Commissioners All off to Promising Starts Not sure who got paid what for this to happen, but all 3 of the "official" commissioners are in the top 4 of the table. To add to that, all 3 are undefeated in league play to this point with PSV and Ajax still having 1 game left this matchweek. As stated earlier, Spartak have yet to allow a goal in league play, with the only other team to have matched that feat being the Ajax team run by another commissioner. Can all 3 keep up with their hot starts, or will they falter in the coming weeks? 3. The jump from Serie B to A is not an easy one Last season both CxMacx10 and rschwep made it look easy, as they were both promoted into Serie A and finished in the top 4, with Mac and his Wolves team barely missing out on the championship. This season, it seems like the 3 promoted teams have faced some difficulty in adjusting to Serie A, with all 3 teams rooted to the bottom of the table. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact reason behind these early struggles, but all 3 teams need to figure out something quickly or face being relegated by the end of the year. Fulham and hokie79 are the only promoted team to have registered a win this season in a 2-0 victory over Bremen while IJGator has registered 2 draws in 6 games. 4. Montpellier are the early disappointment of Serie A Shattering records in Serie C and B vipermansa was not only seen as a threat, but a legitimate contender for the Serie A crown. 5 games in and the team have yet to gain a point and have been outscored by 10 in 5 games. Giroud, who scored 29 goals last term, has only found the back of the net once as the whole team seems to be in a bit of a funk early on this season. Will the team turn it around or will it be a quick return to Serie B? 5. Long run of games last season caught up with Bremen this week Bremen started the year in great form, gaining 7 points in their first 3 games. However, the team hit a low point this week only registering 1 point in 3 games following losses against CSKA Moscow and Fulham. I can't remember a worse week for Bremen, who also drew in their Coppa game against the LA Galaxy, and this might be due to the long run of games they had in their historic treble winning season last year. Was this just a momentary lapse of concentration from the German team or is this a sign of things to come?
