    Week 1:
    [IMG] vs [IMG]
This is a match-up of longtime Serie B manager BESHIKTAS and recently promoted manager jb_banco. Beshiktas and his Queens Park Rangers squad finished fourth, just outside of the promotion window, in season 5. jb_banco, however, led his RSC Anderlecht club to the top of the Serie C table and on to automatic promotion. This match should set an early tone for the Serie B campaign by shedding some light on whether or not the newly promoted clubs can be competitors, or if they will be fighting for their Serie B lives.
QPR is lead by brilliant attacker Djibril Cisse and clinical finisher Bobby Zamora. The duo combined for 28 goals last season. Olympiakos is in it's first season under jb_banco, so the masses will be excited to see how they perform.
    Prediction:
QPR has shown to be the early season favorite in Serie B and I suspect that this holds true in this early season battle. Olympiakos' stout defense will limit the damage, but the dynamic forward duo of QPR will overcome.
    QPR 2-1 Olympiakos.

Match week 2 sees two returning Serie B members squaring off. Managers BigSmooth33 and UcanHateMeNow finished 5th and 6th respectively in the Serie B table last season and both will be looking to improve. UCanHateMeNow is returning with SC Braga and BigSmooth33 will be with Bologna FC for the first time after a run with Celtic. Both of these clubs could easily find themselves fighting for a seat in Serie A or, just as easily, fending off relegation. A strong outing for either club could result in a pivotal early season six point swing. Bologna is lead by a potent three headed attack of Alessandro Diamanti, Gaston Ramirez, and Marco Di Vaio, but find themselves shaky on the defensive third. SC Braga, on the other hand, will be relying on their tremendous midfield trio of Djamal Mahamat, Mossoro, and Hugo Viana.
    Prediction:
Braga will control the play early and often with their superior midfield and will connect on a Hugo Viana set piece. However, Bolgna's firepower is too much for Braga's less than stellar defense. Counter-attacks are the name of the game for Bologna and they find themselves squeaking out a close one.
    Braga 1-2 Bologna.

Another match-up of a Serie B veteran and a freshly promoted manager. Nickaepi and his new club Aston Villa will take on heznfire and Parma FC. Nickaepi struggle immensely last season with Dynamo Moscow's porous back line, but hopes to fair better with the strong starting quartet at AVFC. He and his squad will need a solid outing if they hope to stand a chance against newcomers Parma FC. Parma had an amazing +26 goal differential in season 5 on their way to scoring 41 goals.
Aston Villa is lead by forward Darren Bent who has been a nightmare in years past under former manager Zikry. A big season by Bent will be vital to Villa's success. Parma is lead by Sebastian Giovinco and Sergio Floccari. Floccari led Serie C with 18 goals last season and Giovinco added 13 goals to his Serie leading 12 assists.
    Prediction:
Nickaepi will be a greatly improved challenger this season, but Heznfire's offense is too overpowering. Parma shows the world that they are serious contenders and should not be taken lightly by anyone.
    Aston Villa 1-4 Parma.

Haha. Nothing against you man. I just think hez is that good. I didn't even consider that angle in our game; probably would have been a good one to use. PS: I'd love for you to prove my prediction wrong. Us vets have to stick together against the new kids!

Just one point separates these two teams at the top of the table. Dynamo Moscow (2-0-1, 6pts) and Santos F.C. (1-2-0, 5pts) will battle for an opportunity to potentially be alone at the top. Both teams have struggled to score with Dynamo averaging 1.33 GF/G and Santos coming in at 1.00. Santos' defense has been slightly better giving up just one goal to the Russian's 3.

Andriy Voronin has gotten off to a good start for Dynamo with 3 goals and 1 assist in league play. For the Brazilians, Neymar has tallied a goal with 2 assists.

    Prediction:
Santos will come out strong defensively and this day most likely won't be the one that Dynamo's offense breaks out of it's slump. Defense rules the day in this one.

    Dynamo 1-1 Santos

Another matchup of early season top teams, Parma F.C. (1-2-0, 5pts) and QPR (2-0-1, 6pts) will face off in Matchday 5. Parma's offense has been the most efficient early on in the season scoring 9 times in 3 matches. The defense, on the other hand, has given up 5 goals of it's own. QPR hasn't quite scored at the level they are expecting, but not many believe that it will last.

Parma's high powered offense is lead by Sergio Floccari (4 goals, 3 assists; both league leading) and Sebastian Giovinco (2 goals, 2 assists). QPR is lead by forward Djibril Cisse who has scored 2 goals and added 2 assists.
    Prediction:
Goals, goals, and more goals in this one. Parma's offense has been nearly unstoppable and QPR can score too, especially against a weak Parma defense. Parma turns out to be too much for QPR to handle in the end.
    Parma 4-3 QPR

In this Game of the Week we have a middle of the table team in Sao Paulo FC (1-1-1, 4pts) and our last place team SC Braga (0-0-3, 0pts). The reasons we should be keeping an eye on this game are plenty. First, are Sao Paulo title contenders, or will they be fighting relegation? They were expected to be one of the top teams in the league, but did not get off to as good a start as they wold have liked. Second, can SC Braga pull themselves out of their early season hole? They've had a rough start, but we know manager UcanHateMeNow can win at this level.

Sao Paulo is lead by forward Luis Fabiano (3 goals, 1 assist) and SC Braga is lead by Mossoro's lone goal.

    Prediction:
SC Braga has to stop the bleeding sometime and this night is as good as any. Braga will score more tonight than they have scored all year, but it won't be enough to secure the win.

    SPFC 3-3 SC Braga.

Parma and Olympiakos come into the matchweek sitting 2nd and 3rd in Serie B, respectively. Parma has been carried by their Serie best scoring offense, averaging 3.00 goals per game. Olympiakos on the other hand has the second best goals against in Serie B with 1.17 goals per game. Parma has been solid on defense as well allowing 1.33 goals per game.
Sebastian Giovinco (9 goals, 3 assists) and Sergio Floccari (6 goals, 6 assists) lead the high-powered Italian scoring machine. They will square off against keeper Balazs Megyeri (2 clean sheets) and the tough Greek defense.
    Prediction:
Both of these teams are tough and will vie for promotion all season. Parma won't score like they've become accustomed to this match, but the Greeks won't be able to muster enough to topple the electric Italian side.
    Parma 2-1 Olympiakos

Santos F.C. were located just outside of first place at the start of last week and now, after dropping 3 straight, they find themselves just outside of the relegation window. Sao Paulo, on the other hand, have surged to 4th after a 2-0-1 week. Santos will desperately be trying to turn things around before their season gets out of hand quickly and SPFC will be trying to push themselves into promotion territory.
Santos did not score a goal in the three matches last week and their offense is led by Borges' 2 goals. Sao Paulo's Luis Fabiano (7 goals, 1 assist) leads the second highest scoring team (2.80 goals per game) in Serie B.
    Prediction:
Nothing is more exciting than a desperate team and Santos is quickly becoming just that. Expect a breakout from the slumping offense, but will it be enough?
    Santos 3-3 Sao Paulo

Battle of the Serie B titans. Offense vs Defense. Dynamo Moscow and Parma FC have been the best teams so far in Serie B and we've had to wait until the last week before the schedule turns over to seen them match-up. Moscow (6-1-1, 19pts) tops the table and Parma (4-2-0, 14pts) sit in second even though they have yet to play their last two matches. Victories in those matches could put them one point ahead in the table. Defense is the name of the game for Dynamo Moscow and they are only giving up 0.63 goals per game. Far and away the best in division. Parma, on the other hand, are scoring 3.00 goals per game.
Sebastian Giovinco (9 gls, 3 asts) and Sergio Floccari (6 gls, 6 asts) continue to be the top scoring duo in the league for Parma. Dynamo's Andriy Voronin (7 gls, 2 asts) and Kevin Kuranyi (5 gls, 2 asts) are the second best scoring duo.
    Prediction:
Both of these teams pack a powerful scoring punch with Parma's being the better of the two. Defense, however, goes to Dynamo and they should be able to limit the damage. Expect a thriller.
    Parma 2-2 Dynamo

These two clubs find themselves tied for fourth going into the match week with 12 points. Olympiakos has a game in hand. QPR started the season strong winning two of their first three (including a 1-0 victory over league leading Dynamo Moscow), but cooled off in the following weeks. They have been making a push back up the table, though, and will be looking to do some damage in this game. Neither team excels in scoring or defending, but both teams do both well.

Djibril Cisse's 5 goals and 3 assists lead the way for QPR's scoring game. Olympiakos is lead by R. Djebbour's 7 goals and 2 assists. Both players will be looking to add to those totals.
    Prediction:
Both of these clubs will be looking to separate themselves from the middle of the pack and should put up a good fight. The teams will trade goals early, but one team comes out on top.
    Olympiakos 2-1 QPR

    Matchweek 13:

    [IMG] [IMG]
Preview: Santos come into this game winners of 2 straight and have pulled themselves out of the relegation battle for the time being. In Rafael they have the leader in clean sheets in Serie B with 6, and will be looking to keep Dynamo at bay in this game. While their 1.42 goals against is respectable (tied for 4th in the league) it is their goals for that has been the big issue for the team; posting a measly 0.75 a game (dead last in B).
Dynamo Moscow currently sit in 1st place and will be looking to gain all 3 points here. Their 0.83 goals against is the best in Serie B and that will come as a surprise to their owner, who in preseason stated that he perceived his biggest "weakness" on the team at the back with so much firepower going forward. Captain Voronin has continued to show that his stint at Liverpool was something out of the norm, as he leads his club with 9 goals in this campaign with his partner in crime, Kevin Kuranyi, notching 5 goals and 3 assists so far.
Prediction: The first game ended with Dynamo Moscow coming away with a 1-0 win in Russia. I expect the game to be played out in a similar fashion as the long trip to Brazil might take its toll on the team from Moscow. If Borges is given the time to produce something, then expect Santos to give Dynamo real fits; if not then I fear the home team's chances of scoring will be few and far between. I'll go with the same score as the first game as the Russians find a way to win.
    Santos 0 - 1 Dynamo

    Matchweek 14:

    [IMG] [IMG]
Preview: Both teams sit in 4th place and as the top 3 teams keep winning, both these teams must start a winning streak soon if they are to catch up. Currently tied at 15 points, both teams sit 8 points behind Sao Paulo in 3rd and with only 6 games left in the season, both teams might just need to get maximum points from here on out to pose a threat to one of those promotion spots. Both of these teams come into this game as possibly the most "average" squads in all of the Series. Both have identical 3-6-3 records and both, quite incredibly, also have a goal difference of 0, with Bologna just ahead of Olympiakos due to their 17 goals for this season compared to the Greek side's 15.
Olympiakos come into this game having not won a game since matchweek 4. Adding to that, they have only gained 1 point out of a possible 9 in their last 3 games as the team that started out hot out of the gates has cooled down considerably. The team now must look to turn it around if they stand any chance of promotion, and they have the ability to do so. Djebbour leads the team with 7 goals this campaign but he seems to have lost that early season spark that powered his team to such a strong start. He will need to find his early season form if Olympiakos are to get rolling.
Bologna have collected 5 points out of a possible 9 in their previous 3 league games and will be hoping that their defense will be able to contain Djebbour and co. In Marco Di Vaio, Diamanti, and Gaston Ramirez Bologna possess, quite possibly, the most electric trio upfront; but it is up to them to show up in these last 6 league games if Bologna are to stand a chance at promotion. Di Vaio and Diamanti are currently tied for the team lead in goals with 6, while Gaston Ramirez has collected 4 goals and 5 assists so far this campaign.
Prediction: The first game saw both teams split 6 goals in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Both teams will be looking to get the 3 points here, but I think the fear of losing might just make this a more cautious game than the first one. I think at the end of the day this will end as a draw with both teams really ruing the lost chances throughout the game.
    Olympiakos 1 - 1 Bologna
