once again the SEC shows its dominance! the LSU defense is the real deal this year starting at the defensive line. they just flat out get after the qb and rb, holding the MSU offense to 109 total yards. our new qb had another big game and for the 2nd in a row has a 300+ yard game. this might be the year but time will tell. our first big test is tennessee in 2 weeks. will know what this team is made of then.

#4 Oregon EMBARRASSES #9 Notre Dame
Heisman hopeful Matt Edwards of Notre Dame threw 3 interceptions and Notre Dame never had a chance as the Ducks jumped out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back. The Irish run a hurry up style of offense and the Ducks rarely brought pressure but sat back and made Edwards force throws into heavy coverage. Trailing 28-7 to start the 3rd Quarter, Edwards threw 2 INTS on back to back series. Josh Moore of Oregon took one of those back to the house to give Oregon a 42-7 lead. It just wasn't a good Day for the Irish!
Oregon will play host to Coach HAL and his team from Colorado who are 1-0 but must play Texas before traveling to Eugene!

    Tennessee Blows Out Nebraska

This was a decent game on both sides of the ball for the Volunteers. At first the game started slow for Tennessee with Nebraska jumping out to a 14-0 lead early in the first quarter. Tennessee would get some crucial plays to start a comeback, and they would never look back. The scoring started for the Vols when Jared Babcock would return a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown to make this score 14-7 Nebraska. In the second quarter, Chase Griffin would reach the end zone on a 3 yard run to tie the game. Chris Jenkins senior quarterback of the volunteers would find the star of the game Jared Babcock for a 61 yard touchdown pass. At halftime, this score was Tennessee 21 Nebraska 14. In the third quarter, Chris Jenkins would manage to rack up another touchdown pass this time throwing to Bryant Roberts from 49 yards out. Shanahan Young would put some more points on the board for Tennessee with a one-yard run to close out the game.

    Final Score:
    Tennessee Volunteers 35

    Nebraska Cornhuskers 14

We played a well rounded game and had the Back-ups get work after the half. Our D was the story of the Game as we forced their QB to go 1of 10 with 2 ints. He completed more to us than he did his own team.

    Alabama Dominates Hawaii
Senior QB Isiah Ellison (16 of 22, 451 yards, 4 TDs) is finally playing how the Tide faithful had hoped he would to start the season. In a game full of big plays and stout defense, Alabama defended its home turf strong for the first time this season defeating the Hawaii Warriors 48-6. Despite a sputtering first quarter in which HB Carl Cutler (8 car, 76 yards, 2 TDs) finished with a 26 yard touchdown run, the Tide offense wouldnt stay down for long. Alabama poured it on in the 2nd quarter putting up 28 points as the route was officially on. Up 35-0 at halftime, it didnt take long for Coach Fransisco to put in some younger players in the 2nd half. The Tide defense was stout all day, holding Hawaii to just 262 yards of total offense. The defense was relentless hitting the Hawaii QB early and often racking up 10 sacks on the day.
Up next for Alabama is another home showdown and the opening of SEC play as the Tide host Vandy.

Trojans Win a Comeback Thriller on the Road In Coach Easy's Debut
Down 21-10 at the end of the third quarter, the USC Trojans mounted a furious fourth quarter comeback that ended in a thrilling 23-21 victory. It was a great game by Dwayer50, his defense forced three interceptions and played a great game. I was just fortunate to make a few turnovers myself and in the end make enough plays to get the win.

Buffaloes Lose A Heart Breaker To Texas
Colorado hosted Texas in a game that was expected to be a blowout. It was anything but as Coach HAL had his team ready to play against their former conference rival. Amazingly, QB Monty Allen had plenty of time in the pocket and was able to consistently find open WRs all over the field. CU had a hard time stopping Texas' offense but it didn't matter as the Buffs offense was unstoppable and led at halftime.
In the 3rd quarter, Colorado actually started to pull away and built a 38-21 lead over the Longhorns. That was the end of Colorado's success. They started to get conservative and Texas took advantage. The Longhorns would go on to score 21 unanswered points and win 42-38. It was a very disappointing loss for Colorado as they had the upset in their grasp and let it slip away.
