Everton got a much-needed league win vs Serie C debutantes Hoffenheim in utmost dramatic fashion as Tim Cahill's 2nd goal of the game was slotted home with the last meaningful kick of the match. The home side had more shots at goal and dominated in the attacking third but the game-winning kick gave the Toffees their only lead of the match - right when it mattered most.

Lakic gave the guests the lid-lifter as he boomed home a perfectly-executed cross-and-volley in front of goal. It would end up being Hoffenheim's only shot on goal in the 1st half. Everton quickly equalized as Jelavic found space at the top of the box and left-footed a well-placed shot to the keeper's right.
Both sides had chances to pull away in the 2nd half, but it was Hoffenheim who cashed in as Babel beat an offside trap, received a splitting, through ball with ease and blasted a shot past Tim Howard which kindly ricocheted off the back post and in for a 2-1 lead. Everton felt the crush of the Merseyside fans as it looked like a languishing campaign would continue against a side that just lost 4-0 vs a Stuttgart team that Everton just beat 2-0 in cup competition.
Alas, a cool-headed Aussie named Tim Cahill was about to steal the thunder from his smashing match.
He took the restart's opening possession, played a 1-2 with Steven Pienaar and hit a well-paced screamer to the keeper's left to level things off just one minute later. It was game-on yet again with all 3 points back in play.
Both squads got desperate playing the long ball for the remainder of the match, but the defenses were up to the task sweeping away each potential chance. In the last of 2 extra minutes, one last Hoffenheim clearance found towering Everton player Distin who collected the ball near midfield, made a quick move forward and found the first open forward. It was Cahill. He saw a seam. He saw an opening. He took it. The resulting shot just may have saved the season for Everton.
    gg LAC37 tough match.

Hoffenheim came to play tonight ladies and gentlemen. I don't know about that rookie shit but someone put the bengay in these Germans jocks. The Italians from the South were caught off guard early on by relentless offensive pressure coming from all angles as Babel was key early on for "Don't Hassle the" Hoffenheim. But as usual, Cagliari stood their ground, relying on solid defending and great goalkeeping from Agazzi to hold the fort down until a counter could be sustained. Agostini, Pisano, and Conti looked lost in this aspect as they seemed to be stuck in the wrong position at all times (thank you default work ethic) with Hoffenheim nearly making them pay on numerous occasions (two post knocks and a few point blank misses showed a stroke of luck in the Italians favor). But deep into the first half Cagliari would make Hoffenheim pay for a corner kick at the 45' mark that was burried into the back of the net by CDM Ekdal, not exactly known for his offensive ability. The rest of the game the Italians crossed their toes, fingers, and anything left to twist while holding on to the 1-0 victory. If Cagliari have any chance at promotion it looks like Agazzi will be the guy that gets them there, and this game showed why. GG to the new guy LAC27. You really came out firing bro. You should have no problem finding success in your future. Best of luck.

Coming off a match that had both players and manager fuming, Stuttgart took out its frustrations on newcomer LAC27 and 1899 Hoffenheim, serving them a 4-0 drubbing in front of their home fans. Facing a three-man back line for the first time in his career, Frenchie used passing lanes to perfection, finding wide gaps and executing dummies and through balls to perfection. Brazilian-born striker Cacau, who had heretofore been Robin to Ibisevic's Batman on the squad, has jumped to the fore this season, scoring his fourth and fifth goals of the campaign, and adding a helper, earning clear Man of the Match honors. " LAC27 put on a much better show than the scoreline shows," Frenchie said after the match. "He had a very good opportunity to cut our two-goal lead in half late in the first half, but Ulreich came up big for us. After that, he had a hard time putting shots on frame. Believe me, I know that frustration."

Sausage Fest Season 6 as Cagliari faced its second German opponent in consecutive games. Cagliari fired first on the counter with Andrea Cossu firing a low cross to the foot of Ibardo for a one-timer in the back of the net, but Cagliari was given off on the play, and that would be the story of the mach for the Italian club in the offensive third, missed opportunities on off-sides. Not for Stuttgart, boy oh boy could this game resulted similar to their match against Hoffenheim. By unofficial count, Stuttgart scuffed the woodwork around Agazzi at least 3 times in the 1st half. In the end both teams could have won this game, but for the most part the German side was unlucky not to wipe the floor with their southern Italian counterparts. This one is for sure, the Cagliari goal posts will need a fresh coat tomorrow morning. Good game as always Frenchie1916. Your game really has improved every time we have played.

An absolute CRACKING match full of drama and intrigue.

Bilbao started things off with a goal from Fernando Llorente on a perfectly-placed cross from Susaeta. Llorente banged it home in an almost carbon copy of Mario Balotelli's goal on Monday for Italy against Ireland, with a defender draped over him. Ev
erton was constantly foiled as it approached the final third. At halftime, it was being outshot 7-2 and neither of those attempts were on target.Everton picked up the attacking pressure in the 2nd half. If the Toffees held any hopes of promotion this season, they could not let these 3 points pass them by. The mindset paid off in the 70th minute when Cahill weaved his way through and around the Spanish defense before placing home the equalizer. Now it was game on as both Geneseo98 and Danwin smelt blood in the water. Sending a long ball forward, Llorente corralled it between Everton's 3-man back line and had a breakaway towards goal. Cornerback Tony Hibbert was fatigued but sprinted at a slight angle and slid from behind and the side in an attempt to save the game. It was sloppy, getting some ball but spilling Llorente in the box. The ref quickly handed out the red for Hibbert and Everton would have to play a man down for the last quarter hour of the match.

The free kick went way over the bar and crisis was adverted. The next great chance in the 85th minute was actually Everton's as an odd-man rush found Pienaar totally unmarked in front of goal, but instead of settling the pass, he one-timed a shot careening past the post. Paradise lost. Bilbao's next best chance came just moment later as a deflected shot found its way into the box into a scrum of 4 or so players from both teams frantically trying to kick in opposite directions. The ref say something he didn't like and pointed to the spot. PENALTY!

Llorente would be the man to take it. He stood over the ball a good 8 seconds, staring down a skittish Tim Howard. After a slight stutter step, the shot went well over the ball, Roberto Baggio style! Everton quickly sent the goal kick down the other direction, and somehow the ball fell into another odd man rush! Jelavic had a beat on his defender and lined up a shot from 15 yards out but keeper Iraizoz came sprinting out and got a piece of the shot with his left shoulder. The rebound careened over his shoulder towards the back post. As luck would have it, Steven Pienaar was the only man in the area and he cooly slotted home the winner in extra time!

Jus a crazy game, Danwin... Best of luck to you this season.

    Gents,
I apologize for being MIA recently but unfortunately life gets in the way of gaming sometimes. I am free up to 5pm est today. Tonight I may be able to hop on late after midnight possibly if I am sober enough. Saturday is tough but if we can narrow it down to a specific time before 5pm est I will try my best to meet you. Sunday for the most part I am free all day although I'd like to watch the soccer match. Ideally it would be best to hmu on aim but if you don't have aim hmu here but I don't always get the email notifications.

After settling up on their Coppa affair in Cagliari, both teams headed across the water to Palermo where the teams played again in league play. After scoring on a questionable penalty called in the Coppa match, Pinilla really was in form with full confidence scoring his 6th and 7th goals in league play this year to give Cagliari a 2-0 lead until late in the game when Illcic spoiled Aggazi from gaining his league leading 6th clean sheet. GG OhDaesu19, in the future please leave time for your games so I don't receive messages from you telling me to hurry up as I am posting our summary. I can only do what I am supposed to in posting, and mind you I also take the time to wish you good luck and a good game regardless of the outcome, always have, and always will. Here's to you picking up some points late in the season and making a run at promotion old buddy.
