Falcons Prevail In Battle Of #1 Offense Vs #1 Defense
Move To 4-0 Against NFC South Opponents
    [IMG]
The Panthers have been the dominant team in the NFC South the last few seasons and, along with the Falcons, have separated themselves from the bottom of the NFC South this season. So this was a key game in the race and, despite some odd early season results and Atlanta's hot start, the Panthers were probably still the favorite to win the division.
The game started with the Panthers' #1 ranked offense and the Falcons' #1 ranked defense taking the field. The Panthers would move down the field with relative ease and taking a 7-0 lead behind a 1 yard TD run from rookie RB Lache Hall. Then the Falcons' offense came out and was shut down by the Panthers defense with a 3-n-out. It was looking really ugly for Atlanta at this point as Carolina had all the momentum. Cam and the Panthers' offense was back at it, moving down the field, and were on their way to another score. It wouldn't happen though as rookie FS Brenden Gillespie would intercept Cam Newton at around the 20 yard line for his first career interception.
That play was crucial and saved the Falcons. Atlanta would take control of the game after that and go on a 41-7 run and score on every possession. In the 2nd quarter and after a long drive, the Falcons would find themselves on a 3rd and long, QB Cejay Kennedy would find WR Julio Jones in the back of the end zone for Atlanta's first points of the game and would add a FG later in the half to make it 10-7 at halftime.
It was still anybodies game at this point but Rashard Mendenhall and the Falcons defense made life tough for the Panthers in the 2nd half. The Falcons would out score Carolina 21-0 in 3rd quarter behind 2 Mendenhall TD runs and a pick 6 by CB Dayonne Brandon. The Panthers would finally put another drive together and get back on the scoreboard, after falling behind 31-7, with a TD run from FB Honeycutt. The Falcons were able to respond though and added on 10 more points before the Panthers would get another TD inside the 2 minute warning to make the final score 41-21.

With the Eagles defense getting stops, the Eagles converted those stops into scores. The Eagles beat the Rams, 38-13 behind the defense getting stops on 3rd down and the two turnovers forced. HB Delone Carter lead the way with 22 carries, 212yds, and 3 TDs. QB Matt Ryan had 2 TDs, and 1 INT on 15/24 for 272 yds. WR Kyrie Bennet had 4 REC for 82 yds and 1 TD. Broncos Battle Chiefs, Come Away Victorious as Time Runs Out
    Broncos 28 - Chiefs 27
The Broncos and Chiefs had another epic battle, in the first half each team was exchanging scores. FG-FG, TD-TD, then Moreno scored a TD with only 20 seconds left to put the Broncos up 17-10 at the half. Then, the 2nd half hit... The Broncos would receive the second half kickoff, but Brandon fumbled and the Chiefs recovered and returned it for a TD to tie it up. On the Broncos next possession, Evans threw an INT and shortly after that, Cook ran it in for the Chiefs to put them up 24-17, just over 2 minutes into the half. On the Broncos next drive, they got it all the way down to the 4 yard line of the Chiefs, but then were stuffed 4 straight times and left the ball on the 1 inch line. After the Chiefs completed a pass to get off the one yard line, they tried another pass, and Jordan dropped back too deep and was sacked in the endzone for a safety. The Chiefs would add a FG to go up by 8 early in the 4th quarter, then the Broncos had to turn it up if they wanted to win this game. Moreno took it into the endzone from 3 yards out for the Broncos with just under 4 minutes to play to put them down by 2. On the 2 oint attempt, Evans hit Thomas falling out of the back of the endzone, but he couldn't get both feet down and the try was unsuccessful. The Broncos defense forced the Chiefs to go 3-and-out and left them with some time to get down the field. The Broncos drove down the field and eventually got deep into Chiefs territory. After milking the clock a bit, Prater kicked a 24 yard FG as time expired to get the victory, 28-27.
Players of the game for the Broncos:
    B. Evans - 19/24 for 324 yards 1 TD and 1 INT
    Moreno - 22 for 75 yards 2 TD's
