Burak Yilmaz has picked his game up since being demoted to second fiddle with the acquisition of Didier Drogba who continued his goal scoring streak in accomplishing goal 1 of the week with the win over CS Braga. This was no cake walk however with a total of 46 tackles between the two teams going at it with intensity not seen in a while with this Gala team. Galatasaray was unlucky though having hit the post multiple times in each half and surrendering more opportunities they could have used in goal differential in this tight race for the final promotion spot. GG pitt4life21. You certainly have a very solid offensive attack and could definitely threaten for promotion in season 9 sir.​

Was not my intention to run up the score, did not want to be disrectful to pitt nor waste his or my time not playing properly for 70 mins, I went ultra defensive and made defensive subs everything just went right for me. We spoke after the game but if pitt4life21 had any problem or felt I was unsportsmalinke I'd like to hear it.

I am not mad but I feel like he could have pulled back earlier not like I was going to come back.

The final match of the Season 8 campaign was one that Galatasaray needed to record a win in order to have a sniff at promotion. Genoa lead by their manager Geneseo98 has always been a team that had their number for one reason or another for the past few seasons both in league play and in the Coppas. And this game would be no different with their talisman getting them out in front at the 2' mark with Borriello scoring one of the prettier goals you'll ever see. The Genovese backline really stood up for the rest of the team throughout most of the first half until Didier Drogba was able to tuck in a lunchpail rebound equalizer to send this one into the half tied at 1.​

But the second half was a completely different story becoming a wide open affair withMatuzalem scoring what might have been one of the goals of the year from 25 yards out (sorry Geneseo98 but I've never been good at the replay deal). The goal looked to have let the air out of the Gala baloon until Amrabat was able to convert another rebound goal in traffic to even the score going late into the final third of the match. But the pesky Genoa side wasn't done just 10 minutes later as a free kick from way out was redirected by CB Granqvist past Muslera seemingly ending Galatasaray's hope at promotion. But for the final 10 minutes Gala re-shaped its formation putting 5 at the back and pushing the other 5 players up to attacking positions with the move finally paying off in the dying seconds as Amrabat (not even supposed to be in the game with Drogba mistakenly being substituted instead finding yet another rebound goal for the equalizer.​

By stealing a point Gala at least ends the season on a positive note, but fans will be left to wonder what could have been. What if Drogba landed in Istabul one week earlier?​

Great game Geneseo98 and great season to all of you in Serie C. For those of you moving up I wish you nothing but the best of luck with those grizzled Serie B vets. And for those of you sticking around I look forward to meeting up with you again with a new side, whomever that may be. GREAT MATCH, Claven. I hate to create new rivals who will gun for me in future seasons, but I think I may have made one here by keeping Ajax from promotion. Ajax dominated possession and I just kept throwing defenders in front of shots trying to slow down his potent attacks ... Had to be frustrating when Immobile collected a looping pass and crossed a defender to score on Genoa's first shot on target of the match. Ajax turned up the pressing attack late to find an open Babel inexplicably unmarked in the box to earn the point in the end though.​
