    NFC Champions!

NY Giants C Shaun O'Hara celebrates with the NFC Conference Championship trophy.

NFC Championship up for grabs. 1st Quarter both teams played good defense and kept the opponent's offense out of the endzone. 2nd quarter Giants drew first blood when Manning under duress hits Hakeem Nicks going from left to right in the end zone. They were very fortunate as initially it looked as if the ball was surely going to be intercepted when Nicks somehow came down with it. On the Saints next possession, they come right back at the Giants with a drive of their own finishing it with a big 49yd TD run by Reggie Bush.(7-7) On the Giants next possession, they showed they can (sometimes) make the big play as well when Manning hooks up with Nicks again but this time for a 81yd TD. (7-14)
NY's D holds Drew Brees & the Saints to a 3 & out then starts putting a drive together in which Hakeem Knicks steps up again making a key first down on 3rd and 18. Brandon Jacobs would eventually punch it the end zone in from 5yds out.. (7-21) With under a minute to go in the 2nd quarter, the Saints manage to get down to the Giants 10yd line. Brees is sacked by DE Justin Tuck with 19 secs to go and with no timeouts. Brees no huddles and gets the ball off to Colston for what appears to be a TD, but Colston's knee was down before the ball broke the plain. Giants again are very fortunate as they escape into the half with the score still (7-21).
3rd quarter Saints come out clicking but the drive stalls when Brees is taken down again by Tuck for a 10yd loss. Saint kicker Hartley the hero in the last game came up just a little short on the 55yd FG. Giants ball. Giants work with a shorter field and Eli finds Manningham for the 20yd TD (7-28) Saints go 3 & out on the next drive as Tuck gets to Brees for the 3rd time. 4th Quarter, after a Giants drive that ended with a punt, the Saints would get one more score as Brees found Shockey for 6. The game ends with the score (14-28).
Couldn't ask more from the Giants defense in this one as they were able to put pressure on Brees throughout the course of the game. Justin Tuck was a beast down in the trenches with 3 sacks. Tuck will have to share game MVP honors with Hakeem Nicks who hauled in 3rec for 114yds & 2 TD's. Both players were key in the team becoming NFC Conference Champions.
