The Saints are very lucky to have come away with a victory in their week 12 matchup vs Carolina. Although never being sacked, Saints QB Adrian Crawford was pressure early and often in this one. His quick decision making way key, and his oline's bend but don't break mentality played a huge role. Carolina jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after Cam Newton went 5 for 5 on his first drive and looked unstoppable. Crawford would not be outdone, however; and led his team right back down the field on their second possession. He hooked up with Derek Carlson from 15 yards out for the score. These two teams would continue to trade punch for punch. The key factor was Newtons three costly interceptions on the day and the Saints pass rush. They managed to sack Cam 6 times on the day, as well as forcing him into a fumble. Through all that the Panthers found themselves down only 21-18 late in the game after a successful 2 pt. conversion. That's when Crawford hooked up again with Derek Carlson for a long TD to secure the win for the now redhot Saints. This divisional race is back on between the Saints and Bucs and with only 4 weeks to play it no doubt will be one to watch down the stretch.
