(AP) New Orleans, LA - The Saints looked to rebound after a loss to the Broncos and even with the Bucs coming in at 1-5 the Saints knew they could not overlook the division rival Bucs. Neither team could get much going offensively and the Saints got absolutely nothing out of the running game so the game was squarely on the shoulders of 2nd year QB Daniel Zabzebski. The Saints would take advantage of an early Josh Freeman INT but could only manage a FG and a 3-0 lead. Late in the 2nd the Saints found themselves up 6-0 but the Bucs were driving where Josh Freeman would find Vincent Jackson for a TD and a 7-6 lead with just over a minute remaining. The Saints would get a nice return and a few plays later found themselves at the Bucs 18 yard line but would settle for their 3rd FG of the game and a 9-7 Halftime lead.
The Saints would get the 2nd half kickoff and drive down the field where Zabzebski finally found Jimmy Graham for a 28 yard TD to increase the lead to 16-7. The Saints defense was relentless and would force 2 more Tampa turnovers and would play smart offensively as they are able to hold off the Bucs for a 19-7 victory to move on to 5-2 on the season. GG Phenom Some damn good defense out there by you today.
